Whomever did the Casting for The Mitchell Brothers did a Fab Job. Great introduction, it really highlights the fun side of the brothers and that the perception of them as heavy-weight villains is very misguided. Two specific things dictated Grant's downward spiral: his nightmares over seeing his friends die in the Falklands War, and then Sharon's affair with Phil. It was obvious that Sharon was the only woman Grant ever loved, but his temper resulted in such a tempestuous marriage.
I never liked him with Tiffany. I'm watching it again in re-runs and it's so toxic to the point of unwatchable. He treats her so badly, even saying she'll never compare to Sharon, yet she keeps on going back to him.
