    What about cruise ship doctors? Do they seem very busy? Does it sound like they have a lot of time off?

    • @theworkingexpat
      @theworkingexpat  2 роки тому

      Hi! I do not know a lot about cruise ship doctors. I do know that, on the ships I worked on, the doctors did have specific hours they were open, but could be called in for emergencies.
      Sorry I cant be more help with that.

    What would you consider to be an easy job!

    • @theworkingexpat
      @theworkingexpat  2 роки тому

      Hi! On the ship, I would say a youth staff is easier than most, if you love working with kids. It is a ton of fun and you can avoid a lot of "frustrated guest interactions'. Of course, this was my job, so I am a bit bias... but I absolutely loved it. (It can take a lot of emotional labor though.)
      Of course, if you are an entertainer or performer of any type, I would also say that it is one of the best.

    Hey question do you know anything about Service Year program and is that similar to the normal other foudations ?

    • @theworkingexpat
      @theworkingexpat  2 роки тому

      Hi! I am not sure?
      Is the program just called "service year"? Or is there something else along with it?
      I do know of a website/foundation called "Service Year" (with an orange and red logo) that promotes different types of service years in general. The website is super helpful in finding a service year opportunity. They also show up at many events and I have gotten a few T-shirts from events they sponsor or support.
      Other than that I am not too sure.

    Hello, I'm planning on applying to work on a cruise ship soon. I was wondering if it is required to have a TWIC Card to work on them?

    • @theworkingexpat
      @theworkingexpat  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! When I worked on ships, anything that was required they trained you for. I do not know anything about the TWIC cards, but if you need it they will train you.

    Hi Sabrina! Would you be comfortable saying which cruise line you worked for? I was wondering because it sounds like you had a pretty good experience.

      Hey! Yes! I first work for Norwegian and then with Princess. While both were good experiences, I really enjoyed working with Princess Cruises most!

      @@davidadonayespinozagarcia5323 hi! Congratulations on the job!! When I worked with Princess I loved the Shore Ex team, they were great! Super professional and such nice people. Also the tours they offer are awesome.
      One thing to know is that since every ship has a different team, it will be a bit different from contract to contract.
      Have so much fun!

    Did you have any Romantic relationships is it hard not to relationships?

    • @theworkingexpat
      @theworkingexpat  Рік тому

      Hi. Romantic relationships do happen on cruise ships. You are working and living with the same for months on end. When it comes to romantic relationships, the best advice I can give if you do have one, is not to choose your ship based on the person you are with- make decisions for you.
