@@carlosperry4301 They sound great, but this was just a mix of pleasure and spine chilling. I know it's cool to say V8s were shit, and V10s are the best, but V8s were fucking brilliant. Personally it was the V8s then V12s then V10s.

Lewis Hamilton was saying it feels like the cars are on rails because they are so stable at high speeds. I cant imagine the feeling of driving an F1 car 180mph around a corner

@@chipattack912 Eau Rouge has had tons of runoff since like 2000 something, and F1 drivers have been taking it easy flat since like 2001, even during races with high fuel loads and harder compound tires. The "challenge" of the corner is pretty much unaffected.

everyone miss this engine sound...the hybrid v6 engine sounds like a vacuum cleaner
I do miss v8 sound but.. at least v6 Honda engine sounds like a 2-stroke engine though (try listen to the downshift, its good). Kinda make the race a little enjoyable.
But yeah, the other engines sound pathetic.
Hybrid engine force all energies coming out from the engine to be utilized so nothing got wasted, resulting in quieter engine sound, that's why.
I remember when V8 replaced V10. A guy holding a poster said V10 = sound of magic V8 = bullshit. Well, everything wouldn't be the same from time to time. People in every generation always say I miss the good old days, and we and our kids in the future will say the same thing about our present time when something new comes up.

MayroRange77 I was fortunate enough to spend a birthday weekend at Spa in 2016. My excitement at being at my all time bucket list track for Formule Et was dulled by the mundane sound of the F1 cars and the fact that the GP2 cars sounded better. I wish I had an opportunity to hear the V8 and V10 motors sing in the Ardenne. Still, Eau Rouge at 180mph is still EAU ROUGE AT 180MPH. And I’ll add that those cars with their waste gate exhausts of that era sounded like Chewbacca braking into the chicane.
Especially Renault! That thing sounds terrible!

Well there might be a chance still, 2021 and the MGU-H is going away, which means the cars might just sound like the good old v6 turbos of the 80's. Just look up mclaren mp4-4 sound, and you'll see what I mean. It's every bit as good as these or the v10.

@Mike JJJ the halo does block the view but it's not that much. It's easy for the drivers to see around it. Usually just moving your head one side to the other is enough. Doppler effect is very strong in this one. Sound waves compress as the cars come towards the camera and they stretch out and lower in tone as the car flies by. Awesome sound.

Fixed cameras really show the speed. Insane. It's like something digitally created rather than real life. Some videos show normal cars coming up the straight and into this corner, and it's so slow compared to this.

+Antony Collingwood everyone has their own opinion man but majority rules and that majority is v8 and v10 lovers, the best being between 2004-2008. Its mainly because outsiders of f1 will be like "what is this low power sounding shit" coz they dont understand. and the noise just gives the race a more racey feel. i know this for sure since i havent stopped going to albert park race for 10 years now.
@unknownpedohunter 1 - No one will complain if they went back to V8s or V10s or even V12s. No one is complaining simply because of "change". They're complaining because the new engines sound like lawnmowers that are on their last legs, instead of the screeching monsters they used to be. The sound is half the experience for most F1 fans. Most wouldn't give a rats ass about a noiseless F1 car that is a second per lap faster than any F1 car in the past.

thank you for this video i will always love and miss this sound, the hybrid era F1 CARS sound like vacuum cleaners and my 1/5 scale HPI BAJA sounds better and more powerful than the hybrids do at full throttle!!!
The current vacuum cleaner hybrids are fast but it just doesn't give me any chills. I'm happy I went to a race before the hybrids. These V8s sounds are climactic!
