Hey, Jarrod. Good review as always. Since you issued a correction for this insignificant mistake in your pinned comment, you're probably gonna be interested in knowing there's a mistake in the title of the BIOS chapter of the video ("BIOS - So Much Customization") and correcting that. Cheers.
Hey Jarrod I literally cannot believe your review came out today! I unboxed this laptop 2 days ago and I'm absolutely loving it. I just plug it into my external monitor and it's a dream come true
I have been waiting for YOUR test of A15 for a long time... But finally I ordered it Yesterday! Though it is on Ryzen 7 7735HS and RTX 4060 (available on my regional market). So I have dilemma what to do first: watch your test or take my A15 from the shop😀
Just purchased 4 days ago. Asus TUF A15 R7 RTX 4050 16GB/1TB for $974. It's an upgrade for my 11 years old Samsung laptop, haven't play any heavy games yet because I was too busy for editing videos most of the time, I can say I didn't regrets with the purchase.
@@louis3624 everything is ok Bro, playing FPS or Racing Game on high settings also no problem. Still satisfied with it. But if your country has A16 then you better buy that one since it's better than A15
Wtf! Bro $970 USD? You haved this high end fucking machine?? Ryzen 7 rtx 4050 damn I wish I can buy mine at the same price, in my country the price is above $1700 wtf!
Got this laptop 1 week ago. I was choosing between so many of them and ended up with this one as the best in terms of price/quality in my area (fa507xi). Not to mention that this is my very first gaming laptop with relevant hardware. I was playing games on youtube for 10+ years. This is a great machine. I'm playing my favorite games without even bothering myself to check video settings. Temperatures don't go up to extreme numbers. Everything is working perfectly smooth. There are only 2 slight minuses: 1. Display could be brighter 2. Latest nvidia driver was causing micro stuttering every 2 sec after several hours of gameplay (recommended driver from official website solved the problem) My grade is 9.5/10
I got one in August and upgraded ram to 32Gb and added a WD Black 4TB M2, its a fantastic bit of kit, especially for the money! BTW my panel/screen is absolutely brilliant, I've had no issues with it.
@@ChanithuNevinthe asus tuf performs better because of its cpu. The hp victus looks nicer though so Its just by opinion. I want performance better so asus tuf is better but for weight and looks the victus looks clean
This is why Jarrod is the GOAT. We are kind of closing in on the year, you have pretty much reviewed nearly every single laptop worth reviewing imo (Asus zephyrus g16 maybe not done) . Can't wait for some end of the year comparisons like last year.
@@jonathantheyorkieHe might not get it, which would be very unfortunate of Lenovo to do, because it looks to be quite good, apart from the keyboard deck and battery life.
@@jonathantheyorkieI think the legion 9 is a product that's purely for looks and show rather than perform. Yeah it can run very well, but you can get an equivalent spec legion 7 with better battery and upgradability score for 1500-2000 USD less. It's bigger and heavier, but not by that much
Thanks for the review end up getting this for the 6h battery life doing light work. Was gonna get the neo helios 16 with 2k screen but 2h battery life and liquid metal is just a nono for me. Grateful for in depth reviewers like you who did comparison not just for gaming but general use as well.
I purchased the RTX 4070 Ryzen 9 7940hs FA507xi iteration of this laptop in August for £1,299 (on offer in Curry's UK). At the exact time of purchase I upgraded to 32GB DDR5-4800 RAM (£74) as well as an additional 4TB NVMe (WD Black 7200MB Gen4) that was on sale for £239. Initially I got it to edit but wow! What I brilliant gaming rig it is - I managed to play the entire campaign of Max Payne 3, at max settings 60fps at 8K on my QN700B (also tried 4k 120fps max settings AA x4 on my LG C2 42 inch without issue). Also, Rainbow Siege runs at 240fps avg at 4K but I'm fairly sure there's scaling going on because I clicked auto detect, everything is ultra and AA is x2 with no DLSS so I'm gonna assume it's at 50% scaling or less but it looks great. Wolfenstein Young blood runs 60fps ultra settings with Ray tracing at 8k using DLSS. I've not really played much else but I can tell you it's a very very competent editing rig. My daily is a 3970x, 3090 & 256GB ram and the laptop is actually smoother at scrubbing on occasion. BTW the channel I'm commenting from is not my work channel. I'm a professional editor who never needed to use/own a personal laptop until I ended up in hospital for a couple of months - couldn't bring the work into hospital without a lappy. Anyway I know you're giggling at my gaming choice. I'm a boomer-shooter but 2077, Alan Wake 2, HLL etc probably all run beyond what the display can muster which is actually very good considering the price. The accuracy and brightness certainly outgunned anything else for the same money. FYI the company laptop is the Asus ROG Zephyrus duo 16 gx650py = £4,500 Ryzen 9 16c/32t, RTX 4090, 64GB RAM, 1100nits 240hz dual screen awesome bit-o-kit but I'm telling you now that that rig isn't 4x as able, far from it. It's barely twice as able but it is practical, if money is no object or if making money via digital productivity is your game. In fact when scrubbing or playing back footage there's no noticeable difference. Although I'm sure there would be pending complexity, bit rate, keying, luts, length etc of scene. However I cut a rough scene that consisted of 6x layers deep from 6x action cameras at 4k each at half rez no proxies on the timeline that was nearly 10 minutes in length with no issues. The only thing I noticed under immense stress was that the CPU gets hotter than the GPU which never went above 73°c for me. Thanks for the video. Keep up the great work! PS both my ram slots were occupied, unfortunately. This meant I had to buy a 32gb so-dimm kit and am stuck with 16Gb DDR5 which no one will need or want as thats effectively the base amount to start with. I was going to go off-spec and populate with 64GB 5200mhz, which should work but I didn't want to risk the hassle of returning the ram if it didn't work. Plus for the scenes I'd be editing on the lappy 64GB would have been unnecessary but I'm the kinda person that prefers to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Also, my panel is also 1080p 144hz and seems very good in comparison to your unit but panels can be like silicon. I'd not master colours for serious work using the panel but I would in a pinch (I'd use anything in a pinch if I absolutely had to produce something). Compared to others it is a seriously good buy and great value for money.
@@botz-kalma without a doubt. It's a great arounder. Nothing else will come close for the money. Do bear in mind that I upgraded the ram and introduced another M.2 drive. It is a very good, effective peace of kit and will run every game stock.
@@RawanAbdalfattah ofc its good for graphic designers, if you get the top end one which is i think the 165hz one, it has 100% DCI-p3 coverage, meaning the color accuracy is really good if you are dealing with photoshop or figma, etc. I actually should've gone for this option tbh instead of the legion because after 2 or 3 years, im having issues with the legion throttling and how hard it is to maintain it. Like you need a specific thermal TIM if you face overheating issues and the TIM is really expensive and was such a hassle. Go for this, i honestly thought legion was good but after a few months, it was hard to maintain it.
I have the R7 Rtx 4050 and it really is an amazing laptop! Work and gaming no problem. Very happy with the price and performance - one of the best value for money machines.
Variances in 1% lows could be the result of driver optimizations since you've tested this laptop with one of the most recent versions while your other data is based on older sets.
@@JarrodsTechhey man I've been looking at your videos honestly they're helping me make up my mind a lot. I want to know if tuf f15 i7 12700 & rtx 4070 would give me similar performance as this? I want to know if 4070 is worth the upgrade on 4050 . Rtx 4060 option is also available but performance is the first priority here so in terms of this laptop which one should I go for?
Great review! I really do understand the importance of acknowledging the difference between 4070 and 4080 coz it's indeed massive. But unfortunately for me, the price difference between them is about a 800-1.000€, which is absolutely crazy and I would rather just chill with DLSS than pay a thousand more ._. (tuf a15 with same specs costs around 1.450€ and 4080 laptops begin at +-2.400€ price tag im Germany)
Laptop 4080 was for 1800 euros yesterday ok mediamarkt in Spain, for 50 euros more(maybe not 50,usually around that) they send internationally And would probably be lower ok black friday
@@XDGamerESP so far that same msi vector starts at 2279 Euros here. But as you said it's refurbished so that basically explains the pricing. Let's see what black friday deals bring us
I purchased Asus TUF A15 FA507XI last week. The main reason why i choose this over Zephyrus G14 was because the upgradability. I added WD Black SN850X 4TB and upgrade the ram with DDR5 64GB 5600 MHz. I use this laptop for work (70%) and gaming (30%).

Just bought this exact laptop with the 165hz QHD display from best buy for the black Friday sale (1899.99 can). Paired with the three year warranty and a 4tb ssd this thing is honestly perfect for me.
Display is excellent and the colours are gorgeous. I can't speak on the battery life though. This unit is always plugged in. Ill do some experimenting and let you know ASAP.@@Itzanmol_16
After much research I bought this exact laptop with the Zen 3+ Ryzen 7 7735HS and RTX 4060 (That was the only model available with decent specs in my region) Been using it for the past 2 months and gotta say it's been really good so far. Yes the new Zen 4 chips are up to 15% faster but It wasn't available for me. Doesn't heat up too much and runs games at 1080p like a champ. Battery life is also phenomenal with AMD Really happy with the purchase. Currently watching this video on this laptop : )
I also have the same exact laptop but my battery doesn't seem amazing (around 3 and a half hours at 80%). Can u tell me how long Ur battery life is and what u did to improve it?
Man i asked you few months ago to review this specific product, and now here it is. For the price, it is a gem. I can't find similar spec or same performance for the same price here in the Philippines without compromising the warranty $1,611.86 after tax. ASUS TUF A15 AMD AMD Ryzen 9 7940hs + RTX 4070. Though I added additional 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM. Thank you JarrodsTech. I really love your review on this one.
@@calphak7389 I think they changed the name to LOQ. Though I don't have experience with LOQ. This is the best bang for the buck when I'm looking for an AMD RYZEN 9 with an RTX laptop. But now I can see almost the same specs with the Lenovo Legion Slim 5, a few hundred bucks away from the ASUS TUF A15 2023 w/ RTX 4070. I could look into Legion instead of LOQ. If I could buy now, I'd go with LEGION. Also, I want to change back to Intel.
@@calphak7389 lenovo is nothing compared to this man, i dont think ideapad has the same specs as this tuf. The only issue i heard is that the asus warranty is not as good as lenovo's warranty but for the price, its insanely good, you get a insanely good screen that you can use if you are a graphic designer or just watching casual games, etc. Ill go for this one next, rn i have the lenovo legion, it was good for the first few months and then it started overheating. The amount of effort and money you need to stop the overheating problem is just stupid, you need to get a specific thermal TIM for the legion, otherwise it will keep on overheating even for light tasks, very sad.
It's absolutely important to put a temperature limit on the CPU. Every owner of a Ryzen-powered gaming laptop can use the UXTU app to set a temperature limit of 80C for all workloads, so as to prevent it from going above 85C, which is when CPUs and GPUs degrade much faster. Above 85C is not healthy for any silicon. Best to also reduce the TDP to around 40W, because Ryzen laptops are very efficient but laptop manufacturers and now AMD themselves overclock them to make their laptops looks very powerful (needlessly so) and also reduce the maximum clock speeds from 4700MHz on Ryzen 7 7735HS to 4100MHz or from 5100MHz down to around 4400MHz on Ryzen 7 7840HS for a considerably cooler experience, with a much smaller performance loss compared to disabling Turbo Boost (which destroys your performance and isn't enough to really actually make your laptop cooler in games). You can fine-tune the clock speeds with a hidden registry setting in the Control Panel in Windows called "Maximum Processor Frequency".
I know it isn't really the way to benchmark, but I'd love to see performance and battery life results with the community made replacement for Armoury Crate- G-Helper. As we all know, Armoury Crate is a resource hog. In my case, when I switched to G-Helper my CPU temps dropped from 65C idle to ~49C. My battery life also was slightly better though Intel CPUs still lose to AMD in that regard.
I know it's a very late comment, but felt I needed to make it. For screen options, at 10:54 Jarrod says that (in the US) it's available with either a 1440p/165Hz, or, 1080p/165Hz, both with 3ms response time, while in Australia there's only a lower quality 1080p/144Hz option with no specified response time. (3 mentioned options in total). That's not, however, what's shown on screen and he says some false information. There's no 1080p/165Hz option anywhere. 165Hz is only available with the 1440p option and he says that both options in the US have 3ms response time, but the only one with such feature is the 1440p one. In fact, the 1080p screen option in the US seems to be the exact same in Australia Jarrod complains about. So, briefly, there's really just 2 options: -The basic 1080p/144Hz/18ms(ish) that everyone has. -A 1440p/165Hz/3ms that, at least, the Australian market didn't get. That aside, I loved the review!
first time watching my own laptop being reviewed but it is indeed a solid option but it also depends on the price too . here in france the prices are too high i got this laptop for 1500 euros on SALE it was 1900 euros but for the average consumer in europe this is a good deal
Ye i got it for a 100€ more than you, but def worth it considering how expensive others are. I wasn't able to find any similar priced laptop with such performance
I am the proud owner of an FA507XI (Ryzen 9 7940hs/rtx4070) and I really love it. I use it for work, study and gaming. I use DCS World in a 23 inch monitor (soon to be upgraded) and handles it very well at 1080p. Will come back as soon as my new monitor arrives to post my results.
Manual mode seems useless. If you lower the TDP to minimum, it boosts the CPU to over 3GHz and starts spinning the fans, even if you customize the fan curve.
Really hoping ASUS dumps the A15 design for the A16 chassis with the much superior screen next year. That 144Hz screen has been been a sight for sore eyes for too many years!
I have this laptop and then I also have the Legion 9i gen 9 with 4090, i9 - 14900, 2TB, 64 GB RAM, 3.2k Mini-led Display which I’m shipping to me right now. I’ve never had a laptop before this a15 and this has out preformed my expectations, let alone what my new one will be like!!!!
I bought it 3 months ago and it is excellent for the price Good manufacturing materials I don't have any negative comment, but it catches dust, so we clean it with wipes once a month The screen and performance are excellent The cooling is good, but you need to make it draw air from the bottom The battery is great to last for 5 hours If you lower the light to the least and turn off the keyboard lights and the sound of the fans is good, but do not raise it above the average
Im currently watching this with my A15 2023 with a 4060 and the R7 7735HS(basically the 6800HS) and it was a pain in the butt at first because it was really unstable, BSODs everywhere and web browsers have an issue with RAM access which bad for my online exams that is time critical. It seems the BIOS is the culprit because the latest update fixed most of my problems, the previous 2 were garbage asf. I'm glad they changed the color of the WASD keys to black as the white from last year's model is an eyesore and screams gamer-y even if the design isn't flashy and boring(for some) but the keyboard is inconsistently tactile for my taste but good enough for me since I use a mechanical keyboard so I won't be typing that much on it. What I'm afraid is the plastic side piece the covers the bolt or rod of the hinge is creating some creaking noises. I haven't dropped it yet so it isn't the cause. And turbo boost is just makes go it is thermal throttle for 3 seconds LMAO. It is so useless if you want good temps but I think this also happens to other gaming laptops(this is my first laptop so...).
i have the same model too! i just face a bsod. it seems like nvidia is causing the problem for me. idk if there will be further bsod again... i also want to use this laptop for online exam and now your comment scares me off. so your laptop now okay?
@@vaioretto yes, like I said earlier, the latest BIOS update fixed most of my problems. BSODs were non-existent ever since I updated it. I bought this tuf (4070 and ryzen 7940hs) a month ago and ended back at the store to change it for an Omen 16 with a better ssd and a step down screen to fhd 165hz. The guys in the store helped me test 3 of this laptops in total, but all of them had the ssd overheating and randomly freezeing doing nothing but playing overwatch (quite light gaming imo)
That's concerning. Hopefully it's just the SSD they supply is bad, but it could indicate poorly designed motherboard cooling. Did it not improve if you changed the SSD yourself?
@@miscwork-qb7pd it mightve solved the issue. Being in México it was kinda pricey, so we made the point of it not being a cheap product and they issued a change after some discussion with floor manager and the "geel squad" of said store. The issue presented itself not even 8 hours of the laptop being used.. discord freezed, chrome lagged, ow and warframr also lagged. @@EdyHPdouble Yeah significant cooling issues you'll notice right away. It's strange it happened on multiple laptops, was it on a very warm day you tested? Anyway glad you have something equivalent to use now
Great review. Wish you had the RTX 4050 since this is a budget laptop. Looks like the Acer Nitro 16 is the way to go this year for the best bang for buck. Just wish it was thinner and lighter.
I still have my tuf fx505du with a gtx 1660ti from 2020 and it still works great I use it as a desktop replacement and for 850 dollars it was the best buy I ever made
Well, I own this device, version of Ryzen 7 7735hs and RTX 4050 One of the problems that I faced, which does not seem to be a problem with some, is that the processor heats up significantly and reaches 95° at high consumption, but in games it is rare to reach 90°
I did some experimentation with this and this is mostly normal, AMD Ryzen laptop processors are designed to hit 95C before throttling and it reaches that via boost clocks and such. However, even I found that it's a bit irksome in the temps Set a custom profile in Armoury Crate to 60w TDP on all settings for the CPU. It ensures a steady power usage, and with my RTX 4060 model I got it to stick to around 80C or less which is more than fine. Hit it to 65w and it can go to 85C or a smidge above. You won't get high boost clocks on the CPU but in my testing, it's not a huge deal and in fact I'd say I didn't notice any drops in performance that stood out
Hi! You can change the lighting color after choosing static, the default is red once you choose static but it can be changed to any colour on the wheel.

Switched from TUF FX505 with GTX 1060gb to Legion Pro 7i with RTX 4080 and the difference in just build quality, cooling, rgb/software and bios management alone is huge, besides the obvious performance boost. I still have external 280hz TUF gaming screen that I love tho.

Got this model a year and a half ago or so. Before I get flamed, I didn't grow up with a lot of games, so it had a lot of influence on me. Roblox is the main game I play, but I don't know why, it never happened with my previous laptop (old, far worse, not a gaming laptop), but roblox would randomly freeze, and it does it semi-often. It isn't my internet connection, because it hasn't changed at all. That's about the only complaint I can recall having, other than that, it's great for my first ever gaming laptop. Although, when I tried getting it, the place I was buying from kept delaying it and delaying it, eventually the black friday sale expiring from $1300 returning to $1500, which sucked.
I have had this laptop for few months now, it has been good so far. Only problem is that it sometimes likes to drain battery during sleep? And if it goes sleep by itself the keyboard lights keep pulsing slowly which is a bit annoying. It also cant go to sleep while opened, but i guess its just windows bug.

@JarrodsTech, can you look for some details about an upcoming ASUS ROG Strix Scar 16 based on Intel Core i9-14900HX? What changes should we expected? What about MSI Raider / GT versions based on this CPU?
Buy Lenovo, I have an Asus TUF A15 and the screen started to have issues after a year. And It has happened to thousand of people. The model also has issues with the power button. Lenovo is better
From other comparison channels: 12700H is basically equivalent to 7940HS, intel slightly better in production, AMD slightly better in efficiency (ie. battery life). 4060 Vs 4070 for this model is max 10fps difference for GPU limited titles, not worth it above $100 price difference

I purchased it for $1,069.99 with 32 RAM/ 1 TB SSD. For all the experts here, I want to know if this is a great version and worth the money for its specs????
10:30 It would be awesome if the loudness comparison charts where presented as well, like the other performace charts comparing different / similar laptops.
I get that fan loudness is a bit of a moot point for gaming laptops, but like situations where performance has to be sacrificed for cheaper, I'd be more happy to sacrifice performance for a bit quieter xD
I'm actually considering this laptop with rog strix g15 from last year the rog runs r7-6800 and rtx 3070 ti but the rog screen is fhd 300hz while tuf is wqhd 165hz with the same memory and storage rog is about 100usd cheaper can't decide based on Jarrod's video comparing 4070 and 3070ti
There's not much difference in terms of performance. Personally, I would get the newer spec laptop when buying new, so the A15. Screen depends on what you're playing. A15's QHD+ is better for everyday use and triple A titles at lower FPS, higher refresh rate brighter ROG screen is better for competitive titles like FPS and MOBAs
@@Kai-rh4bxthe TUF has better specs which means more FPS at Apex (if you are comparing the last year G15 with the 4070 version of the TUF, however if you are comparing the 4060 version of the TUF to that version of the G15, then the G15 wins). Depends on the version + Zen 4 is a big improvement over Zen 3. PD: I’m aware of some issues that the 40 series laptops passed in the 1st quarter of this year with the TDP stating that the laptops with 4060 and 4070 weren’t actually hitting 140W with boost. I believe this was already solved with newer driver updates since I’ve seen recent comments from people saying that their GPUs actually hit the 140W top and have a big FPS gap between the 3070Ti (in the case of the 4070) and the 4060 is a little bit better than the 3070 at max too. Also don’t worry about the screen, laptops screens are “updatable” so basically you can fit last year’s TUF FHD 300Hz display on this years TUF or even a QHD panel with higher refresh rate.
I have a ASUS TUF Gaming FX504GD that I bought in 2020. The hardware is great, I love it, I even upgraded it ! However, the outer case is EXTREMELY weak. It's plastic, so you have to replace it once a year because it starts cracking (cracking pretty badly actually). My computer repair person said everyone with my laptop has been having this problem. Can anyone tell me if they changed the case for the new ASUS Tuf Gaming ? I really like ASUS computers man, but the plastic case is killing me. Does the new TUF gaming laptops have the same plastic case ? Or is it more sturdy ? Can anyone tell me this ?
I'm still pissed about the G16 being Intel based when the lower end laptops get AMD Ryzen. It pretty much ruins any reason to get the G16 over last year's near identical M16.
I have 4070 with ryzen 7 7940hs, how much benefits it will give me if I would upgrade ram from 16gb to 64gb for gaming performance? I only play cs go at 1080p. Thank you for your advice. In general I am very happy of the laptop.
I have the FA507XI (RTX 4070) version and been really liking it so far. Good balance of specs and portability. The plastic deck and body does feel cheap but I just bought a skin from ali express which made it look and feel premium. Got a question for other owners - I notice my GPU memory temperatures are very high (70c in idle, 84c in non demanding games like LOL and 96c in anything more intensive). CPU and GPU core/hot spot is very low in the 70-80s. is this just me or should I re-paste the memory chip's thermal putty?

0:06 Yeah, let's get straight into the review!
Latest nvidia driver was causing micro stuttering every 2 sec after several hours of gameplay (recommended driver from official website solved the problem)
My grade is 9.5/10
I got one in August and upgraded ram to 32Gb and added a WD Black 4TB M2, its a fantastic bit of kit, especially for the money! BTW my panel/screen is absolutely brilliant, I've had no issues with it.

@@jonathantheyorkieHe might not get it, which would be very unfortunate of Lenovo to do, because it looks to be quite good, apart from the keyboard deck and battery life.
Also the G16 isn't worth it compared to last year's M16.

Would you recommend this Laptop for both uses of Work and gaming. Is it capable of running programming applications ?
Thank you
@@botz-kalma without a doubt. It's a great arounder. Nothing else will come close for the money. Do bear in mind that I upgraded the ram and introduced another M.2 drive. It is a very good, effective peace of kit and will run every game stock.

how does TUF compare to Lenovo ideapad gaming 3? Arent they almost same spec and price
So, briefly, there's really just 2 options:
-The basic 1080p/144Hz/18ms(ish)
that everyone has.
-A 1440p/165Hz/3ms
that, at least, the Australian market didn't get.
That aside, I loved the review!

Mine reach 90c° when playing game, as I'm being worry about this, the store said it's fine so Idk
I did some experimentation with this and this is mostly normal, AMD Ryzen laptop processors are designed to hit 95C before throttling and it reaches that via boost clocks and such. However, even I found that it's a bit irksome in the temps
Set a custom profile in Armoury Crate to 60w TDP on all settings for the CPU. It ensures a steady power usage, and with my RTX 4060 model I got it to stick to around 80C or less which is more than fine. Hit it to 65w and it can go to 85C or a smidge above. You won't get high boost clocks on the CPU but in my testing, it's not a huge deal and in fact I'd say I didn't notice any drops in performance that stood out
I never run my gpu above 70% on gaming and lower settings to stay cool and keep fan noise down. Also maybe more ram?

Should I get Asus TUF F15 RTX 4060 i9 Or ASUS TUF A15 RTX 4070 Ryzen 9?
Don't get an a F15 get the A15 he did a teir list and f15 was ranked lower
@@goldfish1091 thanks for the recommendation
Switched from TUF FX505 with GTX 1060gb to Legion Pro 7i with RTX 4080 and the difference in just build quality, cooling, rgb/software and bios management alone is huge, besides the obvious performance boost. I still have external 280hz TUF gaming screen that I love tho.
you really comparing a laptop from 2017 to a laptop from 2023 lol

I recently bought the 4070 one @ $1250 on amazon. I find it to be a good laptop
Do you recommend me to get this too?
Just bought the rtx 4060 ryzen 7735hs version really exited
Let me say one thing the most elegant laptop I been playing games past 4years in this laptop I never faced any issues and I play games straight 6-8hrs .
What specs if you don't mind?
@@Wkdnen Rtx 3050 Ryzen 7 series 4000series I do play god of war original graphics and gow Ragnarok high settings with medium customise and red dead redemption high settings and plays a lot of fps competitive games like valorant cod war zone over watch etc I never face fps issue expect war zone be coz the game was full of problems but still get 70fps + the only issue was heat 82*c but once u have fgood cooling pad then u would get 72-76c it’s a beast laptop be ox I was using past 4 years and nonstop gaming . Boost tip upgrade ran 16gb or 32gb and use Dlss and change the setting nvidea panel.
I bought the R9 7940hs + 4060 version a month ago and I'm happy so far.
I'm using it mainly in Cinema 4D + Redshift, Premiere Pro and Photoshop and it performs very well.
The only problem I had so far was with the m2 screw which was impossible to unscrew... So I had to install my 2nd ssd with the right part over the screw lol 💀
no way🥲
How are you, my friend? Please do you advise me to buy this laptop and where to get it? Thank you if you answer me.
i actually have this laptop and found it very easy to change the color of the rgb keyboard, and personally have it set to white. also i got it with a r7 7735hs and rtx 4050
Hi Tommy! How do you like the laptop so far?? I am sooooooo close to buying it!
@@simonelunde3524 honestly pretty good, but I would recommend getting a cooling pad for it.
Same. I have to turn mine off if I'm out using battery rather than leave in standby. Other than that it is utterly brill
Please answer my questions
I want to buy a laptop but in my budget i short listed 2 laptop.
1. Asus tuf gaming a15 rtx 4060(8gb) 140watt , r7 7735h, 16gb ddr5 4800 ram, 512gb gen 4 ssd
2. Asus zephyrus g15 rtx 3060(120watt), r7 6800hs,16gb ddr5 4800 ram , 1tb gen 4 ssd
If the price difference isn’t that big then I’d go with the tuf.
@@watcherofcontent806 the tuf is 75 dollar cheaper
@@TanjidulAbsar Tuf then. The 7735 is a 6800 refresh and the rtx 4060 is for sure better than the 3060.
Please make Lenovo legion slim 5 (16", 2023) vs this Asus TUF A15 (2023) as they're currently on sales with similar price in my country. (1899 vs 1999 AUD)
Is this good for programming?
Which is best: Asus tuf a15 or Acer Predator Helios Neo 16
@JarrodsTech, can you look for some details about an upcoming ASUS ROG Strix Scar 16 based on Intel Core i9-14900HX? What changes should we expected? What about MSI Raider / GT versions based on this CPU?
Within a 1 minute, you've already gotten two laughs out of me. Don't even need to keep me watching, you've got the like 🤣🤣
What should I buy?
Asus TUF A15, Ryzen 7 7735HS, GeForce 4060?
Or
Lenovo LOQ 15IRX9, Intel i7-13650HX, GeForce 4050?
Buy Lenovo, I have an Asus TUF A15 and the screen started to have issues after a year. And It has happened to thousand of people. The model also has issues with the power button. Lenovo is better
@@GameRock06how about the asus tx5?
Самий інформаційний канал що знаю, велика дяка. 👍🇺🇦
I have Intel version with 12700H and RTX 4060, would love to see how the versions compare.
From other comparison channels: 12700H is basically equivalent to 7940HS, intel slightly better in production, AMD slightly better in efficiency (ie. battery life). 4060 Vs 4070 for this model is max 10fps difference for GPU limited titles, not worth it above $100 price difference
@@miscwork-qb7pd Thank you very much for the summary! I also felt my 12700H rtx4060 version was a sweetspot in terms of value.
@@BorIlovarI got the 12700h 4070 for $999.
Which one is better for gaming n coding n more future proof? I5 12500H 4060 or R7 7745HS 4050
I recently bought ASUS TUF A16 Gaming Laptop, 16" 165Hz WUXGA Display (AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS 8-Core, 32GB DDR5 4800MHz RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, Radeon RX 7700S, Windows 11 Pro) with Dockztorm Hub. I purchased it for $1,069.99 with 32 RAM/ 1 TB SSD. For all the experts here, I want to know if this is a great version and worth the money for its specs????
Idk
In Germany the Notebook is available with 17“ 240hz 2560x1440 ips Display For 1400€ ( 2302,39 AUD / 1543,16 USD)
This looks like an all-rounder

It would be awesome if the loudness comparison charts where presented as well, like the other performace charts comparing different / similar laptops.
I get that fan loudness is a bit of a moot point for gaming laptops, but like situations where performance has to be sacrificed for cheaper, I'd be more happy to sacrifice performance for a bit quieter xD
You can see all fan noise results for laptops I've reviewed here: jarrods.tech/laptop-fan-noise/
@@JarrodsTech that's fantastic, thank you!!!
Everyone is talking about Asus TUF and Acer Nitro. I got an Aorus 15 non-X recently and think it is quite a reasonable laptop. Do I miss something?
“Let’s get straight into this revi- The A15 has a grey metal lid….” LOL FAST AS HECK BOI
Recently got this laptop and my batterry can barely go on for 3 hours and 13 minutes while I have nothing running. Should I send it back?
i got the 4060 version and honestly, it's excellent
I'm actually considering this laptop with rog strix g15 from last year
the rog runs r7-6800 and rtx 3070 ti
but the rog screen is fhd 300hz while tuf is wqhd 165hz
with the same memory and storage
rog is about 100usd cheaper
can't decide based on Jarrod's video comparing 4070 and 3070ti
There's not much difference in terms of performance. Personally, I would get the newer spec laptop when buying new, so the A15. Screen depends on what you're playing. A15's QHD+ is better for everyday use and triple A titles at lower FPS, higher refresh rate brighter ROG screen is better for competitive titles like FPS and MOBAs
personally I would pick tuf because of newer specs & better screen display
i would also pick TUF but ROG can run Apex on 240fps.
That is kind of deal breaker for me.
I like this small, light laptops. Not laptops with big butts and if you fit 16:10 screen it will have the best screen/size ration.
I’m thinking about buying the TUF Jaeger with i7 12700h and rtx 4060. What is your opinion on this choice?
i bought the 4060 tuf f15, and oh boy
i just play zomboid these past few days and its overkill xD
Great ! I would like to ask you how is the autonomy ?
Awesome video jarrod. How can you tell which of the ports directly connect to the discrete GPU and iGPU ! Thanks ✌🏼
Do you recommend g helper or sticking with Armoury Crate?
Hi thank you a lot for your great review, would you recommend this 2023 version with rtx 4060 or the 2024 with rtx4060 one ?
Would you recommend the A15 with 4050 and 7735HS or the HP omen with R7 6800H and RX6650M? Getting both for around $1075
in case, what best performance? between Tuf A15 ryzen 5 7535HS + RTX 4060 8GB TDP 140W vs helios neo 16 i5 13500HX + RTX 4050 6GB TDP 140W
Do you think
Asus zenbook Pro 14x UX6404VI worth this year?
I'm still pissed about the G16 being Intel based when the lower end laptops get AMD Ryzen. It pretty much ruins any reason to get the G16 over last year's near identical M16.
Dat early edit was so good I am not sure if it is a joke, a troll or a mistake.
Also, did you change your hair?
Perhaps a joke and a troll :D Not a mistake though.
And I did change my hair! Good eyes
I read it somewhere that u need to turn off cpu boost for cooler temperature. Try look it up
Hello its a good review like always but I am still hesiting with it and a Legion 5 Slim with same spec ryzen 7 and rtx 4060 should I go for it or Asus better because I like Gaming and the tuf design but I am afraid because he got hot too much. Anyways thanks for your review.
