I can’t thank you enough. The heads up about the sensors was a gigantic time saver. Best regards from Brazil 🇧🇷

Life Saver! My 2012 Dodge Challenger 3.6 had that exact same sensor Google & Autozone kept showing me the ones with the thicker threads. Going to be slapping this one one right now so got high hopes

It's a bit of a tight location there, but, I am betting on you! The completely different size of the sensors is so weird . I'll never stop saying it: if I can do it, you can for sure! : ) Thanks for taking the time to comment- it means a lot.

If you need to ever go back in there use an open end wrench and spin the sensor so you can access the release again. It’s the same one that my 2016 Jeep has in it and the dealer needs the last 8 characters of the vin to be certain of the correct style in there. That’s why I chose a dealer part.
    Nice helpful video.

Great suggestions! I HOPE I never have to do it again- my finger nails are just now growing back !! 😅😅 BTW..... How much was the sensor at your dealer? Thanks and all the best to you!

Could a temp sensor be the reason for my coolant gauge rising up then back to normal ? It doesn’t actually overheat it just moves. ( I changed the thermostat twice already )

It certainly could be ! I think I remember mine was not reading correctly and fluctuating like that before I changed the sensor. As long as you don't have air in the system, then I think that you can depend on the thermostat NOT being the cause; it's new. I hope you get it squared away soon: I wish replacing the sensor was easier though.

Access from underneath was pretty easy to unscrew it and install the new one. Kind of tight getting a wrench in between the steering column and exhaust pipe but doable.

Could u stand back from the hood please. I can’t see what side is the temperature sensor it’s on because you’re so close to the hood. You just went directly to the temperature sensor like is it up under the radiator? Is it on the side of the radiator? Is it on the top of the motor?

It is located near the rear of the engine on the driver's side- it is kind of hard to locate and access for sure; maybe there are different videos on YT that give a better view and explanation of the location, this one is more geared towards the type of sensor and not so much about where it is located. Thank you and good luck!

That's exactly what I was looking for. It's the same location for 2012 Dodge Charger SXT with the 3.6
      Thanks for uploading! 👍🏼👍🏼

If you could start the video with a view of the entire engine and then zoom into the sensor, that would help tremendously. Otherwise, where are you exactly in the engine?

So does it work for your car now like did that part fixed your car?

And will this work for my 2014 Dodge Charger 3.6L v6?

It should-but- apparently there are two different kinds of 3.6l engines or something- the parts store gave me the wrong one so I guess it could be one or the other- both styles show being correct if you do a parts search for the temp sensor.. Maybe the engine in a charger is different? I know, its weird.. Personally, I would buy both and return the one you did not use.

I’m having the same issue. P0128 yet everything appears fine. Did changing this sensor out for your issue or did it stay?

I'm very sorry for the late reply. :( That was exactly what I was experiencing; no temperature issues, no malfunctions at all- I just kept getting the code. I actually replaced BOTH the sensor and the thermostat just to get it over with and I think both parts were less than $60.00 total. The thermostat is very, very easy to do so, I would actually try that one first if you wanted to bet on one or the other and see if your code comes back.
Once I was done; no more codes ! Thanks for your comment and again- sorry for the late replay and I hope you get it fixed up soon!

Also- I did the sensor on a flat surface and the thermostat with the front of the car pointed upwards for minimal coolant loss thanx to advice I got on UA-cam!
