Excellent video! Managed to repair it and saved a load of money. Torx bits are actually T7 on my UK model, including the deeply recessed one in the handle holding the trigger assembly in.

I replaced the trigger yesterday on our vac with an aluminum one I purchased on Amazon. It fit perfectly and will not break like the plastic original trigger.

I seem to have disconnected both the black and white part from the circuit board when I disassembled this. Can I glue the black part back down to the circuit board on the sand connectors and will it still work?

it doesn't matter. The 2 T8 Torx screws will hold that part in place
