"Get people up closer to the horses". That's why I go racing, dear John. Often missing out on the race itself, I used to set the VCR to record it so I could watch when I got home. But spent my time on the racecourse getting close, to the horses.
Should only be on course bookmakers and a similar system to Aus and NZ with all off course betting in a TAB system.

Be great if they brought former legends of the track daily where people could meet them and sit on them or pet them. Imagine getting to see kauto star, denman, Frankel etc.
Frankel is quite busy these days.

the problem with horseracing is that there are more losers than winners ? well a horse is only handicapped on its race course performance and therefore the horse needs to be entered towards taking on inferior performing horses but if a well bred horse with poor form is also entered in such a race then the bookmakers would go out of business upon what ever odds they offered , so generally speaking a trainer will not dramatically better the horses chances via racing in a lower class race they will simply wait out the horses chances be it via distance or going and just maybe the horse will eventually win but then of course the horse will go up in the weights and to counteract such they will be entered in a better race towards achieving a lower or same weight towards a chance of achieving better prize money be it first second or third etc , so in reality a horse does not have to win to pay its keep and it is easy to spot such horses who will go on to have a string of 2 3 4 2 5 sort of form placings , and therefore you will instantly know that sort of horse will not win but simply racing towards achieving some level of prize money and when eventually dropped in class maybe a year on will go on to win and then restart the place upkeep for the rest of the season .
So who are bookies leaching off then, lincolnism and ess jay? I've met plenty of dishonest punters but still I never heard about one person not getting paid for a winner. I think its a class thing - owners & trainers and the jockey club etc represent the upper classes, bookies get kicked because they are and probably always will be working class, on the receiving end of peoples' snobbishness.
NO MENTION OF THE STABLE STAFF ALSO BEING ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTORS IN THE RACING GAME, TREATED LIKE SHIT, PAID SHIT MONEY FOR THE HOURS THEY DO, WHEN THEY GET INJURED STRUGGLE TO GET THEIR MONEY, HAVE TO FIGHT TOOTH AND NAIL TO GET WHAT THEY DESERVE, THAT'S WHY THE VERY BEST STABLE LADS LEAVE RACING, TRAINERS STRUGGLE TO GET STAFF/GOOD LADS!!! NOT UNCOMMON TO SEE STABLE STAFF RIDING OUT 5/6 OR MORE LOTS A DAY!!

Racing is given money by bookmakers for doing nothing my arse. So you want bookies to put nothing back into the game that they earn billions from?
You blokes want to learn a bit about how racing is run in Asia/Australia. Our prizemoney is 500% better than yours because anyone betting on the game has to pay their way. Bookies are the greatest leaches of all time and you blokes need to get them to pay their way or you will continue to race for jam and ribbons.
