    I own the EDC X9 and it is by far, the BEST gun I have ever owned and I have been shooting for over 20 years. Wilson re-engineered the 1911 and made improvements John Browning would be proud of!

      @@borkwoof696 yeah I mean it was in the video, he made small improvements that made the weapon more reliable, and of course it's a wilson so no top of the line craftsmanship and materials. He did reinvent it just gave it some new life.

    I recently received my EDC X9. I initially looked at it like a 1911. But now I realize that it’s a whole different kind of gun. The most versatile gun I own. You can carry it, have fun at the range with it or go to war with it. It’s like a modern gun that shoots as good as a 1911. I’m glad I bought this iconic gun!

    Simply put...the greatest pistol I've ever owned. Pride of ownership is real with this gem. I have 5k rounds of all types through mine and have run 3 x 1k round classes with the EDC X9 and carry it everyday with the updated Surefire XC1-B. Soft shooting, perfect grip for wet hands, lightweight, and I would never miss the $3k if this tool saved my life. SIMPLY SPECTACULAR!

    Awesome modern take on the 1911... absolutely love the idea of this beast. I would love to see a full size 5” version in the future to take on Double Stacks from the likes of STI and Dan Wesson to name a few.

  • @51Dss

    being left handed I always am concerned about how much the mag release sticks out. Sure would be kind of you to make the gun with reversible mag release button. I have had several 9mm pistols that did not work out for me because while shooting (left handed) I would engage the mag release which dropped the gun out of battery...not good! I have not yet had that experience with any 1911 pattern guns but it's always on my mind while shooting. Just wondering how difficult it would be to make your guns with reversible mag releases. Too costly? I doubt it considering the price point of your guns in the first place.

  • @briangreen550
    @briangreen550 5 років тому +2

    For that kind of a price put in a ambidextrous mag release for us lefties. We love nice guns too we just don’t want to manipulate it differently than our other lefty firearms. That’s the spectrum he didn’t talk about. Not just big or smalls hands but Right or LEFT handed😉 That’s why I’m a fan of FNH 100% ambidextrous. When you make one lefty friendly I will be a customer. Good video

    I'm reading threads from three years back when this video was released to some comments as recently as a month or two, that's not surprising that comments keep coming in o Wilson Combat in that their the very best that I have owned, and I will empathize it's not the price that that creates the end product it's design and craftsmanship is at the pinnacle of custom pistol making, no shortcuts in building what many consider the very best in the business. There not cheap to own but personally , as I owe one . I wouldn't have it any other way .

    In the way this gun looks like the firearm equivalent of the best buggy whip ever invented! I would have loved to have one back when I carried a BHP (although maybe the BHP would still be a better gun in a lot of ways). But nowadays the idea of carrying a single action auto cocked-and-locked seems practically quaint. For 25 years or so I carried that way every day, cocked-and-locked be it my BHP, HK USPf9, Colt Commander, Star PD or Star BM, etc. The pinnacle for me was an HK P30S with a Gray Guns trigger package, probably about as good there is for that kind of carry. But HK's LEM trigger finally won me away from using a safety. Now I carry striker fired guns occasionally as well. The EDC X9 looks sweet but for me it would be range toy only...it came along a couple decades too late.

    I think the logic of the anti-slide-release people is straight stupid. They try to say that the "slingshot method" takes less "gross motor skills" than pushing a lever down. How is it that moving your support hand to the slide, pulling the slide back, and releasing it, all without riding it home, takes less fine motor-skill in your opinion? By that logic nobody would be able to press a trigger under stress. If on your pistol, you can't use the slide release to drop the slide, it is a design flaw in my opinion.

    I would trade 2 pistols for one of these. I’d trade my EMP and my XD Mod 2

    The amount of knowledge in these videos is crazy. Why pay for a class when you can just watch Ken and Bill all day for free.. good video guys!

    Woah! Ken just said, in referring to the cost of the X9 and people not being able to afford it, "Well you either wear Timex, or a Rolex." Funny thing is, generally a cheap Timex is either as accurate or more than a Rolex.

      Hes not wrong though. Honda Civics are super reliable but why not get a high end luxury car if you can afford it. If you can’t or don’t want to there are choices for everyone. True with everything you can buy really. I own Glocks, Hk, FN, Sig, and others but when I look at my Staccato it’s just a work of art in comparison and I want to get rid of it to get a Wilson lol.

      @@jvz1448 I understand. My nieces dad is an airline pilot and his wife is an engineer. Their house cost over a million bucks. He wears an Invicta watch and drives a Nissan. Some folks don't care about that kind of stuff, and would rather use their resources somewhere else. I love pistols, and could entirely afford a more expensive carry gun, but I won't. I have heard, that if you're involved in a self defense situation, the police are probably going to take your pistol, and you may not get it back. I would rather have to replace my Canik than a Wilson combat.

    To heavy to carry why compare it to a Glock19

      @rsuninv 6 років тому +4

      Only 5 ounces heavier. Yep too heavy. Give me a break.

      rsuninv I was just going to say the same damn thing. The 5 measly oz's would never cross my mind. Some 1911's weigh much more and people carry them every damn day. People's overall weight fluctuates in lbs. and one is worried about 5 freaking OZ's, come on! Carry a EDC X9 ON!

    • @ivanrivera3293
      @ivanrivera3293 5 років тому

      It's only 5 oz. heavier. Also, the grip is actually technically smaller than a traditional 1911's.

    Why not just make a production version without all the bells & whistles for third of the price. All I want is a compact double stack 1911 that’s both reliable and affordable

    ROTFL! When the maker of the $3000 firearm compares it to a $550 firearm… No thanks. I’ll spend the difference on training and ammo.
