Today I fired my first shots though my WC SFT9. I purchased this pistol several months ago. I shot my regular new gun testing protocol with range Ammo and my EDC defense load. This is probably the best 9mm pistol I’ve fired. After my range day I decided to sell my Staccato P and C2. Although I still prefer a 5” 45 custom 1911 for EDC, I would have no problem carrying this pistol. I experienced no failures in my testing. I think Staccato pistols are nice pistols just not in the same class as the SFT9.
One of my favorites parts of these videos is the acoustic guitar intro and outro. Lol. I love drinking my coffee and watching you guys talk guns. Soothes the soul...
It's hard to claim my prize, because I'm from Philippines, but,it's alright for me if I'm not get my prize, the important is,I love "Wilson Combat 1911"model.
hey Bill and Ken thank you for another exciting production on SFT9 with a better grip detail. it’s too bad we can’t have the high cap mags in Cali. Please keep imparting your gun knowledge so we can keep learning!
Lol! Do I want one?!😄 SMH. I'd like one of everything you came out with for the last 10yrs.😇 Thank you Bill for your group always making the right choices to put out truly amazing pieces. And thank you Ken for the experience you bring to the table as well. Always a real pleasure to be with you guys on here. Same goes for Mas. You guys are like friends or family and we're just having a cup of coffee together talking around the kitchen table.
Thanks much for sharing. Going to be hard to give up my SFX9 HC 3.25 compact. It’s a tack driver and about as big as a chief special w/twice the ammo. Hard to beat but this new pistol is a sharp looking blaster. Thanks for sharing
Let me be the first to say very respectfully, FQ!!! I am a Wilson junkie now and you keep coming out with beautiful, functional tools that I have to keep buying. God bless you gentlemen.
Awesome looking pistol. I haven't seen but a couple of the other guns in the series. They are all very nice. I am very interested in one with an optic and Holosun mount. The enclosed emitter is a big deal for me. I had a rain drop land in the emitter one time and it was enough to convince me to go with an enclosed red dot.
As a southpaw, I would want to have the SFT9 built for ambidextrous slide lock, etc, but I’ve been waiting 14 months for another of my Wilson’s to go to kit! So yes I’d buy one but……
Wilson Combat is the best. Your evolution into the high capacity of the pistols in all barrel lengths further separates Wilson Combat from everyone else. One day I will definitely own a couple. My only question is will Wilson Combat ever make a high capacity .45 ACP, and if not, why? I eagerly a
Great idea to have asked Ken to host....brought up a very good point about the size of the mounting screws for the RDS...DOES make a differene. What I'd like to see added to the SFT family are 45 ACP...maybe 347 Sig, or 378 Super calling these guns obviously "SFT45 and "SFT38Super"....Do you support HOlosun RDS'? If not......
Second that. All metal Wilson Combat grip modules for the P320 would be awesome. I don’t want the plastic. Even a single stack all metal gun to replace my M&P shield (current carry gun) would be nice.
Good video thanks... mr. Wilson , I carry a cz rami. A 1911 style gun. Got the one with the safety. Are these similar? 10 rounds and can use regular cz 75 mags. Thanks
Hi guys great video. I have a question, I live in north Alabama and i have searched the gun stores from Huntsville east to Mississippi then north to Nashville are always out of stock on SFX, SFT, and EDC pistols so it is extremely difficult to determine what feels best in my hand. I have been looking and holding out for over a year hoping the inventory in this market will improve. Are there any projections pointing towards this on y’all’s end? I’m a little old fashioned I want to hold one in my hand to know it feels right for me before dropping 3k to 4k on a pistol. Once I can do that I would be confident to actually order it on line and wait if needed. Thanks
Can you comment on the pros and cons of a bushing barrel vs a cone barrel? Is one cheaper or easier to produce? Why does WC recommend one or the other?
Bushing barrels are only reliable on Commander sized barrels (4.25") and up. Any shorter and you're at a cone/bull barrel automatically. As for the larger sizes, the cone/bull barrel adds more weight to the end of the gun, but you might require tools to take the guide rod out. At that point, it's personal preference.
Is the gun compatible with any legacy magazines? It would be nice if they were designed around something like the 92 magazine especially considering the current collaborations between Wilson and Beretta.
Picked up a SFX9 4" this week. Looked everywhere, you won't find a kydex holster for it. For as much as you pay for a WC, I'd like good positive retention. Anybody have, or seen one?
I’d love one or two but you have not sent them off to be approved in Massachusetts. Any plans to allow us to own a WC? I’ve got $ to spend. Best Regards gentlemen
Do the wide front grasping grooves create friction on the draw or friction/drag in a leather holster? They look like they would create drag in the holster, is that a issue in real life application? I'm considering one if you could please respond it would be much appreciated (my only reservation on purchasing). Thanks for the thorough review. Can it be ordered without the front grasping grooves?
I'd love one, but unfortunately I live in California, so if it's not on the "California Handgun Roster" list we can't buy it. Also, I was wondering about the difference between your bushing barrel vs the cone barrel, because you said in a previous vid you liked the 4" cone barrel best, but these 4 1/4" commander barrels are the bushing style... maybe you could make a video showing & talking about the difference? Take care & thanks for the videos! ✌️
Yes I sure do Wilson combat what’s extra optic cut run can add on it buy it separately used rmr on 10 mm 1911 6 inches then holosun other guns like this one it sweet save up as always hope don’t shit line down anytime soon think one get you guys sft9 light rail optic cut
Front sight is red fiber, or whatever. My question is does anyone make orange fiber? The reason I ask is that I heard of a study that the state of Texas did to determine what color to paint their vehicles to make them as visible as possible and orange was determined to be most visible, with yellow second best. So I was thinking that the orange might pop up better than red or green.
tons easier than my standard 1911's that I dread taking apart. Also the DLC coating doesn't show scratches as where the first time I took apart a stainless dan wesson it had visible scratches after
The Wilson SFT9 is so silly accurate (and dead reliable!) and easy to shoot you can do things you can't with other pistols, like point shoot without using the sites and be right where you want, at least from typical combat distances. It's kinda freaky.
Can anyone suggest an alternative to this firearm from any company other than Wilson Combat? I did not find Wilson Combat warranty support in line with their sales price or "hype". I purchased 3 magazines for my 1911, none of which fit (my owner's manual pictures Wilson Combat magazines). I returned 2 to the retailer. The 3rd, upon the advice of my gun dealer and wanting desperately to believe the Wilson Combat hype, I modified by filing the release slot. This modification was required just to be able to seat/release the magazine. After seating the magazine, I experienced multiple misfeeds and found the magazine unsafe/unusable. I asked Wilson Combat for a refund, but of course I was denied, due to having made a modification. Oddly, they told me I should have informed them of the misfeeding before I filed the release slot ... yet I'm not sure how you get a misfeed if you can't even seat the magazine. After watching this video, I asked Wilson Combat if they would discount me the magazine cost ($40) on the purchase of an ECD 9X which lists at $3200 before options. They would not. Nor did they suggest sending me a spare magazine with a purchased ECD X9. I'm left holding junk and dissatisfied with even the simplest of technical replies. And why would they ask what gun dealer recommended my magazine modification if they weren't going to work with me on an accommodation...why waste my time pretending you're interested? I'm in the market for and EDC and requesting help for anything but a Wilson Combat model. Thanks!
Maybe next time you guys could talk more about the SFT9 instead of the SFX9. Also, consider having folks that actually use electronic dot sights on a more routine basis-like the "young guns" when you discuss these types of sights. Many thanks for your quality products, service and informative videos.
We want to hear from you too! Do you want a SFT9?
The envy for the feels is strong in me. 🦾💚
Yes send me one
Still waiting on my call to confirm it
Yes is everyone's dream edc. Just can't afford one with 2 Lil ones.

Thanks for listening

I saw it, wanted it, ordered it. Can’t wait to shoot it
Awesome! Let us know how it shoots!
So excited for this. Wilson grip has me 🥰. The release button... 🥇
You have always created a great firearm; you're just getting better and better!
Gosh I need a .40 hope you make one soon !

I love a 15 round commander with traditional bushing barrel. AWESOME !
Nice. I'm waiting on the SHTF9
I have an EDC X9 (4”) and an SFX 9 (3.25”). I prefer the grip feel of the EDC.
Hopefully you guys do a CCO size in this line.

Our pleasure!
Ill be buying one for my next carry pistol soon! Keep it up!
I’ll be looking at the SFT and SFX
Nice ,I would love it if you guys made the trak main spring housing magwell for a single stack 1911 Thanks
I love the SFT9 and am waiting til it's offered with a light rail. Coming soon I hope?
Yes they have that option now
I’m a gold bead lover too
Shot my EDC X9 today. My favorite pistol. I am not sure you can improve on the design.
Lol just found out ya'll are from Idaho - thanks for everything, and great show!
Ken is from Ohio and now lives in Idaho. Bill is from Arkansas and now lives in Texas.

Beautiful weapon, do you have any double stack 9 mags that would run in a Prodigy ds.
Why the switch between external extractor edcx9 back to an internal one

Beautiful gun. What is the build time?

I'd love that grip for my p320... just throwing that out there

Damn at seeing only the grip i forst thought it was a single stack damn it
I would love to have the SFT grip on my SFX9. The little hump on the back took a while to get used to. Any chance to be able to do that?
Is the gun compatible with any legacy magazines? It would be nice if they were designed around something like the 92 magazine especially considering the current collaborations between Wilson and Beretta.
Which extractor system is better - external or internal?
Want to choose between SFX9 and SFT9
Any interest in doing a .45acp version of this pistol? You can only have 10 rounds in some states so may as well have the larger caliber.
45acp will be too hard on the aluminum frame
@ that’s true but I am more interested in carrying than shooting much.
So am I but you won’t see many compact double stack 45acp guns. I know alchemy custom works has a hi-cap double stack 45
@ I don’t want a 9mm
Curious, are your double stack mag wells are sized for 9mm, or are they oversized for future larger calibers?
Question: Are there holster makers for this (custom) gun?
I’m never going to get caught up! 😬 I may have to take a 2nd job now as you ask “Do I want one?” Another great pistol, thanks gents! ❤
Great video.

0:48 he stops talking about his hat 😂
Need to start letting us Wilson lovers know who the younger crew is…as in who is going to carry on the legacy and tradition.
Let em drop dead first haha

I wanted an eXperior because I didn’t like the x tac pattern. I feel like this gun or an eXperior is in my future, depending on which I see next.
Is it possible to visit Wilson combat in Arkansas, and is it possible to shoot a X9 series there for the purpose of purchase?
Would definitely like to have one but idk that will ever happen…
Absolutely Love my EDC X9 4 inch and my EDC X9S 3.25 inch... Phenomenal Pistols! ';-)
Steel frame and larger calibers please.
What ammo would you recommend for a 1911 in 9mm ? Thanks - and really enjoy your videos !
For self defense look into Xtreme Defense by Lehigh Defense.
When will we ever see a DA/SA single stack pocket pistol?
9mm

It's so hard to decide. I love what the SFT9 has to offer, but I simply can not write off the EDC X9.
Breakdown seems compact so I'm hoping it won't get damaged easily.

Is there a chance we can have a chance to chat withyouguys
The only thing I don’t trust is fiber sight I like old fashion 3 dots metal 🤘🏼!! She looks gorgeous anyway soon she’s mine 🥹
Hopefully the SFT9 will come in a 4" and 3.25" really soon.
Look up the SFX9!

Very nice!
Nice vidio. I love my SFX9. Ken u got a sore neck? U keep reaching for it. Try some tiger balm. Stay safe.

No it does not.
Did Ken point a loaded pistol at Bill at 3:00 min???
atleast 2 different times.....
It was empty.

No. Camera angle was deceptive at first, but gun was immediately cleared, mag removed, slide locked back.

Yes but I can't afford one anymore.
No optic cut. Gonna be dated soon without 1
It can be ordered with an optic cut as shown in the video.
I’d hate to have this gun confiscated in a home defense shooting or something - it’d break my heart . 😢
It sucks I live in commifornia.
Awesome! I’ve really been wanting an overpriced, unreliable, antiquated single action only gun that’s way to heavy to carry. Great job guys!
Do you read the comments? I’ve been asking the same question for six months. Thank you
Flat panel, work for me. No yaw over care.
Yes please. In skyblue pink, to make it obvious that it is not dangerous.
FWIW, the DLC does NOT stand up to kydex, at least not on my EDC X9. I called WC about it, and they recommended NOT using kydex holsters.
Leather is the way to go. Why would you stuff an expensive gun into a sheet of plastic over and over? No applied finish would hold up to that.
