      Thanks for your comment. This video is not meant to be a full step-by-step tutorial; it's rather an impression of the bookbinding process. As creating your own book will surely depend heavily on the materials and tools you have on hand, a more general video is what I shot.

    I hope you didn't have to listen to that piano while you were working. Nice job on the book.

    Could you slow this down and actually talk through what you're doing and what you're using so it's more like a workshop?

    Awesome!!! What type of glues did you use and where did you get the spine fabric?

    • @diyowl5496
      @diyowl5496  6 років тому +4

      First of all, thank you. I used two kinds of pva glue- a clear one and a white one. You could easily make it using only one type, but I found out, that the clear one was better for large surfaces, as it it didn't introduce wrinkles. As for the fabric, I used a cloth/mesh useded normally for car polishing. I can not find it on the internet, but i suppose a thick cloth will get the job done. If you have any aditional questions, feel free to leave another comment! All the best and have a nice day!

    What material was placed on the spine after you put glue on the paper

      Like all diy projects, it is usually cheaper to go out and buy it.

      Depends. In my country, the total cost of making a notebook is about 1/3 of market price. The best benefit of making a DIY notebook is being able to choose the paper weight. I prefer 100gsm paper, but most commercial notebooks are 70gsm.

      Thanks for commenting! The concept is really straight-forward, but there are a couple of tricky steps along the way. It is simple, but you have to be careful at certain times! Have a nice day too!

    How long did it actually take to complete this ?

    • @diyowl5496
      @diyowl5496  5 років тому +3

      The build itself was around 2-3 days, because I had to wait for the glue to cure before proceeding to the next step.
