    Baltany makes me happy :)
I think the reason the crown is hard to push back after pull out due the the misposition of screwed down gap. All need to do is try to adjust to sweet spot to push in. Some other watches with screwd down crown do have the same problem but this model seems worse

Agreed, Aviv, I'd also like to add that they're the only Chinese manufacturer that markets a premium feel mechanical (and quartz, too) watch for the sub-39mm case size space. And they're also true to the style that they're paying homage to. For example Eve mentioned the A11 has a 45mm L2L. This implies that this has longer-than-usual lugs as contemporary 36mm cases would normally have around a 43mm L2L, and those who own and wear watches like the Hamilton Khaki Field understand that the A11 is from that era. Very nice review, Eve, thanks for the solid content.

This video LITERALLY tells us the '3 Commandments for Homage Watch-Collecting'! Rules to live by! Overall a killer spec monster! I do like the overall design, but yeah...the one let-down is the lack of contrast on the dial. The main function of A-11 pilot watches was legibility, so when that's not a displayed... it just moves away from the pilot watch heritage. But overall, the fact that it's an original design, 200m WR (CRAZYY), boxed sapphire with AR coating at under $200... this is a beauty!

Thanks Abdullah! I wouldn't say it's "commandments" because it would depend on people's lifestyles and personal preferences and whether or not they like the "OH" situation. 😁

Stellar review! I've been looking forward to hearing your thoughts about this watch. I really enjoyed the review of the previous Baltany watch so much that it peaked my interest of the brand on AliExpress. I was really entranced by the coin edge bezel and, of course, the fascinating dial you talked about. I didn't notice how the hands blend into the dial until you pointed it out and I'm glad that's something you mentioned. When I noticed it I definitely had to reflect on that minor drawback. All in all it's a great looking watch with a wonderful military field watch design. Something I like more than a dive watch which seem to be very popular these days. I hope Baltany continues to work with you on more watch reviews.

      @AliasEveWatches  Рік тому +1

Thanks for watching, James! I'm glad you found the review helpful. This A11 comes in another color with a black dial with the same hands, which is much more legible. If you're not fond of dive watches, this might be a great alternative with the water resistance. You can take it swimming, as long as you change it to a waterproof strap.

i guess it would be embarassing for some people if they were caught wearing a cheaper dupe of a luxury watch haha. personally it doesnt bother me because :
    1. nobody in public looks at our watches in any great detail
    2. on the rare occasion that they do look at your watch, they probably wont know enough about watches to recognize the difference between the real thing and the dupe
    3. if they can tell (this hasn't happened to me yet), it kinda becomes a conversation starter! i cant justify paying ₱₱₱ for luxury watches, so being able to have the watch with 95% of the quality (sans the logo) of these thousand dollar watches at 5% of the price is a point of pride for me hahaha.
anyways, great video! i enjoyed the video essay-like structure and it's a delight to find a filipino voice in the watch world! i hope you keep making more videos

Great review! i have had that crown problem with other movements such as PT5000. In two cases, it was so difficult to re-engage the movement that setting was a real problem. i replaced the crown stems with slightly longer ones snd totally solved the issue. I think the spring that compresses when the crown is pushed in causes the crown to hit the threads before fully engaging the keyless works. Longer stem allows a bit more travel for crown.

My current favorite is the Pagani Design PD-1692 this model has a Air-King 126900 Dial in a 116900 Style Case. I recently got the SANDA P1108 "Tank", excellent value literally the cost of two Venti Dark Caramel Frappuccinos.

It sounds like a Scottish name, looks like they did ww2 dirty dozen British style watches (so many Swiss brands made them including omega) the US WW2 watch included the maker Hamilton.
The UK managed to get alot of movents from Switzerland before the war as they knew the war was coming and Switzerland made them for all sides as a neutral nation but a big reason Rolex became so popular in the military community is that Rolex would offer British soldiers in German prisoner of war camps the ability to get a watch from them and pay after the war with most getting a standard 3 hander but some would get a Chronograph and in one camp these watches especially the Chrono the "Great escape" would not have been possible to time guards and shift changes and such.
Rolex did alot of PR before WW2 as in they put a oyster cased rolex around the neck of a woman attempting to swim the English chanel.
Rolex has quite humble beghinings being started in the UK with a British and German man buying parts from Switzerland and assembling them in the UK maybe making a few, after Ww1 they had to move to Switzerland due to the high tax after the war but WW1 is what made wristwatches fashionable for men and also cigarettes as before that a man would have a pipe or cigar and a pocket watch and wristwatches "wristlets" and cigarettes where only for ladies.
If anyone ever finds a millitay issued watch that is mechanical before the quartz crisis and it has a hacking function it may be a rare version of such watch.
I only have 2 military issued watches a British CWC G10 quartz.
And a very nice but I'm perfect condition Swiss handwinder they gave to the Rhodesian military (it was gifted to me by a freind i made in my father hotel that died.
I also have a sterile MB-microtec watch also from him that is exactly the same as a US military issue watch but its made of titanium not polymer has sapphire, 200m and has a jeweled ronda quartz movement.
It's old as the tritium tubes are very dim.
I have a few Vostok Ampbibias and in the time of the USSR they where issued to divers or as gifts and are the only Russian movement and watch maker, the only company that makes a 19800boh movement it can go down to 700m its like getting a new watch from the 1960s
It would be a real shame if they went under as the citizens of the city bought stocks in the factory to keep it running, I managed to get a few dozen during the 2nd day of the invasion as the rouble was so low that delivered it was under 20 pounds a watch.
I have a pocket watch from WW1 that my great grandfather took with him but it must have been an old watch even for ww1 as no keyless works and a double hunter case meaning you had to set the time and wind it with a key, most pocket watches made during the time had no cover or if they did it had a hole or a hole with some acrylic and keyless works so would be wound and let like a normal watch.
For a standard 3 hander they would just move the dial so the wonder is at 3 and the dial text is upright then they would solder on silver lugs.
With a subdaik they would often make a new dial or buy an unmarked one then print it right and solder on lugs.
    .
If it has a cover some would leave it if it had a hole, some would remove it and polish the edges some would cut many nig holes like a cage so you could see it and some would cut out a circle and solder on a cage.
But many watch dealers will buy used pocket watches and solder lugs on then say its a ww1 trnxh watch......
The first watch with a bezel for airmen was 27mm, I realy hope we can see much more classic sizes
The 2 biggest watches I own are a captain williards that has a turtle type case that's 44mm but feels like a 40, a Hamilton khaki feild auto that's 42 but also feels like a 40.
Apart from a few exceptions like turtles or pilots watches no need to go over 40 and everyone has different wrists if your a buy and buy smaller watches your Gf or wife may ware them, if you don't want them to do it don't buy them lol.
The seagull 37mm 1963 feels so thick and big in my wrist but oribicalybthe 40mm is much thinner and feels like a smaller watch.
Plan to get anything in the 11/11 sale?

As for the 11/11 sale, not planning on getting anything from Aliexpress. For the remainder of the year, my shopping budget is targeted only for Christmas gifts to family and friends. Mostly pretty practical stuff, no watches.

This is where it gets pricey. I shipped it to a particular jeweler in another State. The service was $105/USD. In reality that wasn't expensive when you consider everything he did:
      *Remove the movement.
*Remove the hands & dial from the movement.
*Install dial & hands on the new movement.
*Clean case & crystal inside and out.
      *Install the new setup.
      *Calibrated the movement.
      *Completed the assembly.
      *Pressure tested to 300m.
***Pretty sure I left something out.
My advice is to research all the costs involved, determine if the watch is special enough to you to justify the cost. The actual monetary value of the watch is secondary.
In case you're curious; the watch I upgraded is the Zelos Swordfish V2 with the Ice Blue dial. The upgraded was totally worth it.

I was going to say the same - it sounds like the stem is a little too long. I've experienced this on my own watch builds and I have found that if I shorten the stem a bit, it seems to work much better.

@@AliasEveWatches It's crazy but there's actually a small watch shop in my city and I was window shopping and saw they sell Kuoe. I'm in the US so I wasn't expecting a small Japanese brand like that available at a local shop.

Did everyone face quality issues with this watch? I had to take mine to a watchmaker for cleaning, as there was a speck of paint pealed off from the dial wondering around under the crystal. The watchmaker also told me that I should rather not swim with this watch as the water resistant is questionable. Did anyone swim with it?

I havent tried swimming with mine. For the W10, i didnt encounter any issues. For this A11, just the one i mentioned in the video.

Nearly every consumable is homaged. You don't have to buy them, but it's wrong for anyone to condone someone who does. They are perfcetly legal, and more often than not offer great value for money
