Absolutely stunning in it's design and I love the special significance with regard to your name and the points you mentioned. The on the fly bracelet adjustment is super cool and the hand turned copper plate sets this watch apart from so many out there. Good choice. I'm a huge fan of this case shape. [you could have just kept your gold seiko]. This watch has actual craftsmanship, you have the 905 steel but I would love to know about this movement?!
There's not a lot of info about the SL1588 movement when I googled it. Most of the info about it are features from publications reviewing the Atelier Wen Perception. No negatives seen so far. All I can observe is that it doesn't hack, no ghost date position, and it's thin. Atelier Wen requires high QC standards so I'm also pretty confident of the longevity of the watch. 😀

Thanks Holger! It kind of does have that Genta-esque inspiration but I feel like I don't think of Genta when I look at the watch. It's more of the Chinese vibe that pops out at me before the Genta-ness of the bracelet. Maybe that's just me! 😅 I still have my IT channel, Alias Eve IT, which is my more chill, lower-effort channel for IT fixes, if that interests you. Probably no more watch-related content except maybe for 1 last very short one. 😀

With Taiwan, a lot of the younger people can speak English because parents mostly send their kids to after-school English classes (kind of like Kumon but English instead of Math). With Mainland China, I don't know, I haven't been there since the 2000's. 😅
Those dumplings looked AMAZING!! One of my favorite chinese dishes are steamed and fried dumplings. Regrettably I never acquired the talent of making the dumplings even after a few attempts. This was one of your Best videos Eve. The watch you chose to be your "exit watch" is really beautiful. If I had the opportunity to see the dial being made by the master, what a once in a lifetime observation that would be indeed! Everything about that watch is perfect in my opinion and it's worth every penny you paid for it. The dial speaks for itself and I was blown away when you said it was hand made. The case is unique without looking odd, classy without looking too dressy but wouldn't be out of place in a formal environment. The bracelet was one of my favorite parts of the watch you showed off. The links of the bracelet just look seamless and well machined. FInally, I would like to say I will miss your watch reviews but there's something to be appreciated when you find that one. I tend to think it's not so much the watch either as much as finding peace, contentment, and happiness with what you have rather than chasing after what you don't. I looked at my watch collection and noticed all the watches I have I hardly wear and looked at the watch on my wrist, which happens to be a Chinese watch as well, and all of a sudden I didn't really care about collecting another watch because I was content with what I had and appreciated the moment that I realized this. So, it's bittersweet in that those of us who subscribed to your channel will miss your reviews but are happy to see you find real happiness. I loved my visit to Taiwan but the last time I went to Taiwan, i did not remeber much as my layover in Bankok was late, had to spend a few days, was in a traffic accident then ICU..... I thought I would die at 24 lol
@@AliasEveWatches I went to Taiwan but the flight back to the UK I had to have a layover in Thailand, but a delay with the flight so I had to stay in Thailand but I got into a bad traffic accident, Intensive care for weeks, temporary amnesia, took close to 6 months to feel normal. Always get good travel insurance lol

Incredible piece, having held a couple pieces from Atelier Wen I can tell all the viewers here, their finishing and quality is on par with some of the swiss independent watchmakers.

we have a similar background and approach to mandarin! haha i was exactly like that as a kid, and the moment i didnt have to learn mandarin anymore at 16 i dropped it immediately. i also cant speak my ethinic dialect which is teochew, which is a bit of a regret for me now. thankfully im still fairly fluent in mandarin, despite having lived in UK for coming up to 20 years now. That watch and dial is gorgeous. I've seen a few other reviews of it and it is absolutely worth the price i think. i really love the cultural touches im just not mentally at a stage where i can spend more than 500 usd on a watch. it's scary tho, i feel like im fast approaching that stage, cuz ive been thinking about the PRX in auto a lot lately and im not sure how i feel about that. the concept of an exit watch is an interesting one. i don't think that's something i will ever embrace, i don't believe in imposing artificial limits on myself. ive learnt thru life thats the fastest way to regret. it's more a case of if there's something i like i'll buy it for a price im comfortable with, if not, i won't. Not feeling an urge to buy more watches, like everything else, is something that will have to come organically to me. And even when I get there I think it won't be that I will never buy another watch, more that my standards might increase and I have to really like and justify something to get it. No im totally not justifying buying another 3 microbrand watches lately 😂 Will be sad to see less long form videos from you, i hope we can at least see you do reviews that watch brands send in. i dont mind sponsored videos where watch brands send stuff in for review. other channels i watch like JOMW n Ben's Watch Club are upfront about it and the watch brands don't have an input into the review anyway. If not though. hope we will get shorts from you all the same. It's tough being a woman in the world of watches, and I'll always hope to see more of my fellow ladies making watch content. Hi Emily! Nice to see someone in the comment section who can relate! It's a good thing you're still fluent. Our school had us memorize long paragraphs worth of Chinese words that we didn't understand. While the kids in our school developed our memorization-skills well (paid off in college), most of us are embarrassingly bad at Chinese. When I went back to Taiwan at age 28, I had to start at level 1. 😅 Right now, I'm doing daily 3-minute lessons on Duolingo and I've primarily been watching Chinese dramas instead of Western shows. I still need English subtitles now I feel like this strategy made a huge difference for me. I think the concept of an exit watch is different for everyone. For some people, it's finally getting that Rolex to signify that "I've made it". For some, they're got what they wanted out of the hobby and they want nothing more. I think for me, it's a mix of being satisfied with the hobby and knowing that beyond this, is not going to give me any more incremental happiness. I'm still aiming to do one short watch video of a local watch brand. I haven't hard the chance to go to the mall to shoot the video yet (I'm just borrowing it for a few minutes to shoot). I don't want to accept watch sponsorships anymore too since my overall enthusiasm for watches have reached its limit. I don't think I can make a good review anymore if my enthusiasm is gone. I do appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts in the comment section regularly. I made this final (or semi-final) long form video for the very supportive people like you. 非常感谢！

we have a similar background and approach to mandarin! haha i was exactly like that as a kid, and the moment i didnt have to learn mandarin anymore at 16 i dropped it immediately. i also cant speak my ethinic dialect which is teochew, which is a bit of a regret for me now. thankfully im still fairly fluent in mandarin, despite having lived in UK for coming up to 20 years now.
That watch and dial is gorgeous. I've seen a few other reviews of it and it is absolutely worth the price i think. i really love the cultural touches im just not mentally at a stage where i can spend more than 500 usd on a watch. it's scary tho, i feel like im fast approaching that stage, cuz ive been thinking about the PRX in auto a lot lately and im not sure how i feel about that.
the concept of an exit watch is an interesting one. i don't think that's something i will ever embrace, i don't believe in imposing artificial limits on myself. ive learnt thru life thats the fastest way to regret. it's more a case of if there's something i like i'll buy it for a price im comfortable with, if not, i won't. Not feeling an urge to buy more watches, like everything else, is something that will have to come organically to me. And even when I get there I think it won't be that I will never buy another watch, more that my standards might increase and I have to really like and justify something to get it. No im totally not justifying buying another 3 microbrand watches lately 😂
Will be sad to see less long form videos from you, i hope we can at least see you do reviews that watch brands send in. i dont mind sponsored videos where watch brands send stuff in for review. other channels i watch like JOMW n Ben's Watch Club are upfront about it and the watch brands don't have an input into the review anyway. If not though. hope we will get shorts from you all the same. It's tough being a woman in the world of watches, and I'll always hope to see more of my fellow ladies making watch content. Hi Emily! Nice to see someone in the comment section who can relate! It's a good thing you're still fluent. Our school had us memorize long paragraphs worth of Chinese words that we didn't understand. While the kids in our school developed our memorization-skills well (paid off in college), most of us are embarrassingly bad at Chinese. When I went back to Taiwan at age 28, I had to start at level 1. 😅 Right now, I'm doing daily 3-minute lessons on Duolingo and I've primarily been watching Chinese dramas instead of Western shows. I still need English subtitles now I feel like this strategy made a huge difference for me.
I think the concept of an exit watch is different for everyone. For some people, it's finally getting that Rolex to signify that "I've made it". For some, they're got what they wanted out of the hobby and they want nothing more. I think for me, it's a mix of being satisfied with the hobby and knowing that beyond this, is not going to give me any more incremental happiness.
I'm still aiming to do one short watch video of a local watch brand. I haven't hard the chance to go to the mall to shoot the video yet (I'm just borrowing it for a few minutes to shoot). I don't want to accept watch sponsorships anymore too since my overall enthusiasm for watches have reached its limit. I don't think I can make a good review anymore if my enthusiasm is gone. I do appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts in the comment section regularly. I made this final (or semi-final) long form video for the very supportive people like you. 非常感谢！
