Man been going to ski Apache since I was 6 man 30 years now started taking my daughter snowboarding love ruidoso my second home for sure! Enjoyed the video bro!
I visited Ruidoso recently & loved that it's so nice there & peaceful! The only bummer is that there's only like 3 grocery stores. Downtown stores close too early & not that many restaurants, gyms, & anything else you expect from a big city. Maybe it would be good to only have a vacation home there🤔
"Only" 3 grocery stores!🤣 One is Walmart. True midtown stores close at a decent 5 or so. But for a nice laidback town, That's good enough shopping for anyone.
@@codycreager4428 Yes, some time back though they FINALLY got a "real" grocery store -- Albertsons (on Mechem). But for me, instead of Ruidoso I might prefer next-door Cloudcroft instead...even though that's even smaller and more "isolated." I could still drive to Albertsons for groceries, and during Tourist Season, have less crowds like those packing the stores/restaurants on the main street of Ruidoso (Sudderth Drive). Oh...and in the fall, could still get my locally-produced Cherry Cider in Ruidoso as well! :-) -- BR
Excellent video!! Well produced, and the vibe of your videos are at a great pace unlike other real estate videos of towns and cities where they yell or have an odd voice over, and rushed clip sequences, just another nod to the NM video production skills! Looking to move back to Cruces NMSU alum '19 living in San Diego county currently. Interested in maybe videos on Alamogordo, Deming, Silver City, Hatch, TorC and the many other great towns of NM if those are hopefully in the works! Thank you for your work and informative videos!
the downsides are, very limited jobs and the pay is always crappy, if u live there tourist season is always packed, and can drive u crazy and then theres the motorcycle rally every year, instead of nice and quiet all u hear is motocycles going up and down the road for a week. . so living there theres not a lot to do, its always more for tourist
@@jimjohnson6944don’t listen to that person. Move here if you want but remember, small towns aren’t as open to new people as they claim. So while nobody will know or care whether your a tourist or not it will be hard to meet friends. Lived in Ruidoso for 23 years. Tbh I hated it….. it’s so much different living there than it is visiting as a tourist. I get the appeal of it for sure. But as kid growing up into my teens and adulthood. There was just nothing to do unless you’re naturally an outdoors type of person. I wasn’t. I always told myself I was a city boy stuck in a small town. Regardless it’s just my own experience and I do have this thought that I would love to move back there someday when I retire. Pros and cons huh? Have you ever lived or visited Ruidoso? Recently, Ruidoso has had a bad stretch of luck. My parents lost their home in the Salt fire, and the continuing flash floods are serious, hindering the Village from getting back on thier feet. Stay strong, Ruidoso!!!
I am sorry I hope they put the guy in jail for life who did this. I sent money on go fund me accounts for the two dead people not much else I can do from far away.
@@supernova2321Oh wow so sorry about your friend's loss. I've heard there were 2 deaths. So sorry. The wild fires and flooding brought me to this video.⚘
The mountain range honestly isnt that big, its like 40 by 60 miles, with no major streams or rivers. Further north around taos is better and more scenic.
The song "Smokey the Bear" by Eddie Albert I think promoted by Walt Disney with the coloring books and toys got us all confused . The Man who found him was named Smokey as well so maybe that is how it started. I can see how each could be correct.

My cousin sold his cabin after living there 15 years. Huge mistake.
My cousin used to sell his cocaine there, big mistakel😂.
Additional Pro... Great restaurants
Additional Con... They close early

Smokey who? If you're going to say it, say it right. Goober. His name is Smokey Bear. Not Smokey the Bear. Some people. Get it straight.
