Nobody danced on the cymbals better than Stewart
'23, and still listening. Without Copeland and Summers, Sting may have been a 1 hit wonder to me (Fortress). The Zeppelin of the 80's
Sting was in his own head at this point. But at least he redeemed himself on the 07’ reunion tour and the Police became a raw three piece band again. That was a killer tour.
Stewart Copeland running the band at this point.
that snare...
Did you ever see how he wrapped it? His hats..hell everything sounded incredible
Sting: I have no problem with Stewart Copeland
Sting: *calls Stewart Copeland pointedly last during the band callouts*
He announced Stewart last at every show since the beginning.
Copeland got strong character 👍👍
Magic!
Sounds like a Sting concert feat. Stewart and Andy.
Yep, Gordon was out on his own here. You can sense Summers and Copeland thinking , "I know the three of us are here but we don't sound like us."
They had already broken up. So…
boring
'Sting & Friends" was the claim at that time, not 'The Police', the group was over...
Yeah, I know, it's just weird. They didn't broke up 10 years prior to this so play it like everyone it's expecting or, at least the like the 2 band mates are willing to. I love the police, forever, but Stingo... i never liked his persona.
It's just my opinion, don't want to offend anyone or create a discussion.
For years after 1984 they were still hot. Miles kept the Police in secrecy, so we never officially heard "The Police have broken up." In 1985 Sting had just one solo album. When they did this gig in 1986 we all were thinking "Oh wow, are they getting ready for another album???" Hilarious.
I love the duct tape on Stewarts left hand, that's how you do it.
Fucking Great!!!

Очень красиво.
the police perfomance
I don't remember them doing any shows after 83? Is this a one off benefit or such?
...A LOVE SUPREME?....BUT FASTER ONLY
Hey I mean I’m not gonna disagree with you. Sting had a huge jazz background.
What was sting on that day 😂
1:09 tho 🤤
Andy's rhythm work completely drowned by the extra musicians
Just another day? Eye don't think so! Wasn't it when two tribes go to war? 😭So let's pray for better days! 😋 👍 😊 🙏 ✌️
Too bad Sting didn’t stay in his lane. The legend of the Police would be exponentially greater than he ever could have imagined; he really screwed up.
Playing it in the key "E" instead of "A" like the recording.....
What is this sorcery?
Esta es una versión Sting no The police...I don't like
The original is far more visceral. Why the mellow jazz treatment?
La meilleure version live de Driven to Tears est et restera celle de l’arène de Frejus.
The piano and backup soul singers sound like some typically Sting adult contemporary bullshit - completely ruins the intensity and pure melodic nature of this track. Awful take - poor Andy and Stew lol
I thought it was a nice addition
Yeah, sounds awful with those additions. Less is more.
Stings dancing is a bit odd.
Robert downey sings
Sting ruins this performance with his off-key vocals, clueless backup singers and lost piano player.
Shut up bro
Actually ur kinda right
“Clueless backup singers” toured with the Police Einstein…..
Back up singers. However, Sting took an alto range without singing higher. I think he did it because he’s a pro and found the strongest line to make the best of the performance. His musicians are intelligent. That’s a Pro…making the best of things. I am so grateful I saw this. Thank you. Everyone was on board by the end…listen to the end. ❤
Good thing this isn't the version that's on the album, I wouldn't have liked it at all.
It's crazy but I love sting but his music sucks after the police! I love Copeland probably the 3rd best drummer of all time period...
Andy Summers is a awesome guitarist
