    I own this guitar for about 6 months now. I didn't like the original neck pup so I just bought some fender vintage noisless pups and put them in myself. I was surprised to see how good this guitar looked underneath . The wiring and solder were very professionally done. I rehearse with my band everyweek (blues/rock) and my other guitar player loves playing my tele even though he owns a plethora of fenders and les pauls. great vid btw! Hello from sunny Ireland!

    I bought mine in May 2018, because the TE-52 wasn't available. I changed the bridge pickup for a Seymour Duncan, left the Roswell neck pickup in, as it sounds so good. I changed the nut for a Graphtec and put black knobs on. Apart from that everything is stock. I even left the tuners on as they work perfectly. it's a good guitar and I don't regret buying it.

    Great video and playing Jonathan! I've had this guitar for about 5 months now and had quickly become one of my favorites. I didn't change a thing in it. I loved the tones I got from this special guitar straight out of the box. It's a killer rock n roll machine.

It still plays just fine as long as you don't leave it sit too long it's okay.the one thing I noticed is I have to change the strings a bit more often than my other guitars maybe because that's I play it a little bit more?.. I don't know either way. These things are great especially with the real brass saddles

    I bought mine little over a year ago after watching your videos on the T 70 BP. I was first in love with the Paisley design and Wilkinson also, I've kept the Roswell pups but added a tusq nut and Wilkinson tuners. The Honeymoon continues here too, my first HB. Since then I've bought the CST 24 Black Cherry and a Pro series Bengal fusion ii roasted flame neck w/Wilkinson trem. I'm so impressed with the fusion that i can't seem to put it down! Great playing as usual, thanks for turning me on to Thomann's endless toybox of fun!

    I bought a TE-70RW model, with the Amaranth fingerboard, two years ago. The only mod I did was to add some inexpensive Kluson tuners to the order, to ship to the US, with the guitar. I also changed the two string trees to one round Kluson tree and changed the pickguard screws to black ones. (I have a thing about double bound Teles)
    I love that the bridge can be either string through, or top loaded.

    Just got a TE-52 about 6 months ago. Best decision I could make. Replaced the tuners with Fender Locking, insulated the inner cavities with copper tape, and soon I’ll be doing a pickup swap if the Roswells don’t fit to my liking. But, as of now, they’ve got just the right amount of kick and twang to them when I adjust the tone knob. Awesome guitars!

    Jon has mega credibility as a player and a reviewer. The only thing I fear is that he could make a pine board with strings and a pickup sound good. Still, when he says a guitar is good, for me it becomes an instant possible buy. And indeed that has happened in this case, as I have ordered the "rosewood" version. I swore to myself I wouldn't upgrade it - - I always seem to do that - - but I'm probably kidding myself. Thanks for being a good source of info. Your playing is inspirational.

    Bought a Harley Benton Les Paul last year! Nice guitar but had some issues with the finish. When I tuned the guitar to normal pitch the finish on the headstock, on both sides of the nut, cracked. Spider cracks. Wasn’t happy - contacted Harley Benton - never again! First of all trying to convince them there is an issue is a nightmare! Even with detailed emails and photos they still were not accepting responsibility. They said that it is one of the Les Paul’s weak spots and basically is what it is. When I “finally” got them to accept the return (after having to accuse the United States Postal Service of mistreating the package and signing paper work to rebuke the accusation) the the process to do so is so involved and costly (I was responsible for the all return costs) and I decided they just aren’t worth it! The guitar is a great purchase for the money but it becomes “yours” once you do! Good luck to all!

I also love the fat neck, with the same feel as my old Tele and the 52 RI. The price was ridiculous and I knew HB could do a good job, My first HB was the old LP-450 nearly a total copy of a G*. Massive maple top and very nice sounding and playing guitar. Nowadays their new Fusion series are a bit more expensive but theyalso offer so much more quality.

    I just received my TE70 a few days ago. The sustain is insane! Its my first guitar with Single coil pickups. I have 14 guitars and have been playing for 14 years yet I have never bought a single coil strat or tele. I have always been a humbucker guy (Was a Gibson snob) but lately I've had the itch to own guitars that provide a different tone and feel. I am completely satisfied with my purchase. A cheap pedal that goes well with this is the Model CP-12 Pure Sky by Caline (A Timmy-like clone that performs well). Its 35 USD but it helps augment this guitar's character. I usually combo it with a Nobels ODR mini but it is not necessary. I play it through a Marshall JCM 2000 (TSL 100). Most people frown upon this amp due to the early heads having issues but this amp sounds great and takes pedals well. Having 3 channels is also a plus! With this guitar I like to chill in the clean channel. It sounds so good there.
    I'm thankful for the Harley Benton brand. Its a lot of bang for your buck. The fact that I know how to change the pickups on my own or do fret work/setup makes these things amazing. The brand name means absolutely nothing in this day and age. My Gibson LP is nice and all but I would not hesitate to gig with a guitar like this. The tuners on my guitar are holding their tune extremely well and I see no need to change them at the moment. My only recommendation of those trying to acquire a nice sound is to get a good amp and speaker combo. It doesn't have to be expensive.
    If you're on the fence, get it. You will not regret it one bit! Mine was a B-stock for 130 bucks. It was a steal.

      Mine goes crazy out of tune after 1 bend. Especially on the G and D string. Any ideas on how to fix it? Already lubed the nut, with no effect.
      I have to agree though. Crazy band for the buck. Sounds amazing for the price. My epi les paul protop plus honestly sounds worse. And cost 3 times as much.

    • @SoldatX2
      @SoldatX2 3 роки тому +1

      Frontyer Perhaps the nut isn’t cut properly? Make sure the strings are not getting snagged. If you have a small file you can try gently file the cuts on the nut. Just don’t take too much because you’ll affect string height. Also check that the strings were installed correctly on the tuners. Worst case scenario would be that your tuners are defective which I hope is not the case.

    • @TheFrontyer
      @TheFrontyer 3 роки тому +1

      @@SoldatX2 I dont want to file the nut as the action on the first fret is really low. It just barley above the fret. Some slight fret buzz when playing open strings with some power.
      I will check if the neck is straight. Then try to replace the nut and string trees. Hopefully that should do it.

    Hey Jonathan, been watching you for about a couple months now and love your reviews! I own mostly Eastmans but was wanting to round out my stock with the classics without a lot of money and my son, who doesn't play guitar, actually told me about HB. So, that is how I found you and now that is how I found my very own TE70 on my wall as of last week.
    First off will be saving up for a fusion pro 2 hsh bengal roasted - but this is much cheaper and wanted a tele - so I now have a TE70 hanging on my wall thanks to you!!! I can relate to your comments on your mods! I have been doing the same to my PCH Eastman dreadnought - it's fun and it makes it your own. I really like the plate and I would like to know where to order it - great choice and it complements the guitar very well.
    I am not a electric player per se / venturing into jazz and kind of specifically Herb Ellis - John PIssano - Bucky Pizzareli style - but I am enjoying the couple times I have played the HB - really allows some styles I haven't ventured into prior.
    I have to say the frets were very bad when I got mine, not the edges, just the polish. But for that price who can argue. I will get a kit and polish them myself - I have never done this before, but I am getting such a collection at this point, i need to learn how to care for my stock - so here I go. Do you ahve any advice on that level?
    Also, heaviest guitar i own. I might sand the back of the neck. I think you did that didn't you? If so, what do you recommend? Still happy with it and just picked it up off the wall last night. Thanks for the reviews - I will probably do most everything you did. I like locking tuners as well - which did you go with just so I get the right size?
    blessings from another brother (Pastor) in California.

    Man..... I’d buy that paisley mod just for the control guard. I wouldn’t change the bridge either, even if it fit. Looks cool that way a good contrast

    Jonathon! Jonathon! Jonathon! (like Rollerball). Nice axe. And just AWESOME playing, as always! I'm so glad you started your channel and share your music. I might have to try an HB tele, but mod it to add an XYmidi pad for KAOSS. That'd be fun.

    Great guitar!!! I have followed your journey with this lovely instrument and it has progressed very nicely indeed! :) I also have a TE70 Black Paisley and I love it. I haven't changed anything - I'm happy with it completely stock. I know what you mean re the chunky neck - I really love it. For me I found that the original pickups worked fine and so I left everything stock. I also have a Harley Benton TE52 which I also think is an awesome guitar. I have many guitars but my main two are my Fender American Original 50s Telecaster and my Harley Benton TE52. Both great guitars! Harley Benton guitars might be "cheap" in price but certainly not in quality! :) Also, I really enjoyed your playing in this video. Absolutely marvelous!!! You are indeed a great and gifted player! :)

    I finally bought this guitar today 9-18-22 and its my 4th harley...i hope u still had it ...the problem on harley is that they still putting on a entry level of pickup...my harley 62sb strat i change the pickup to a fender factory pickup and put the fender locking tuner..now that i bought this one u had i also want to change the pickup prewired that include the electronic plate and the saddle for $150 plus the fender locking tuner $50 and tree string...now if u include the guitar price plus shipping still still cheap for a $400 guitar with upgrade...why is it that harley benton not giving as all this upgrade and mark there price up...so we dont deal with all of changes...change that old obsolete tuner to a locking tuner on all of there product...and give as atleast a nice seymour duncan pickup or whatever 3rd level of pickups amp.

    I must have watched your TE70 videos a half dozen times, and have come close to pulling the trigger countless times. But I hadn’t watched them lately...until last week. You totally pushed me over the edge...in a good way...and I finally made the commitment. Placed the order on Sunday, and it arrived in Georgia, USA Today...Wednesday. That’s pretty remarkable in itself, but the quality of this guitar...especially for the money...$173 US plus shipping...is truly remarkable. The action is a bit high, and the frets could use a little work, but nothing remotely major. One question for you, Jonathan...you swapped out the tuning keys for some locking tuners...do you recall which ones you used?

    Hello Jon, I was so darn sure I have watched a video of yours in the past where you were mentioning a particular circuit modification for the TE70; I can recall something like the replacement or adding of a capacitor (or maybe a resistor?) ...was blue actually as far as I can remember! Can't find the video - I wonder of that rings you any bell? You had mentioned this mode as a tone game changer for this particular model. Or am I going wild here :)

    Thanks Jonathan, it's good to hear how people reflect on gear after using it extensively. That guitar was on my shortlist for a while, but then I bought a Fusion Pro 2 instead, and I have been really pleased with the build quality, the specifications, and the sound and playability, of it. My other HB is a fretless J-Bass, again unmodified, which is simply unbelievable at the value-point. How do you think the Thomann house brand compares to things like the Squier Bullet series, or the entry-level Ibanez guitars etc?
