Locklear's character brought a whole new level of drama to the series, making Amanda both a villain and fan favorite. Her dynamic presence helped the show soar in popularity, and she’s often credited with being a major factor in its success during the 90s.
The Amanda-Alison rivalry at D&D Advertising was peak 90s drama! Their professional and personal battles, especially over Billy Campbell, had viewers hooked. Amanda's ruthless ambition clashing with Alison's more innocent approach to life made them the ultimate frenemies. Watching them navigate power plays at the office while tangled in messy love triangles was a classic Melrose Place dynamic.
That time that Allison was an alcoholic and was blinded when Kimberly blew up the building and got her sight back but pretended to still be blind and caught Brooke going through Amanda's files was so relatable.
When I was in middle school, my social studies teacher, who was definitely in her 20s back then, used to talk to the other teachers about watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer 😂.
...SAME HERE!!! ....I tuned in to Solly's posts recently, and it's GLARINGLY clear that Heather played this character NOT as a 'Villain', but a VERY strong-willed, bold, pointed, blunt, career minded WOMAN who has masculine tendencies to her drive for success.........She was pretty, but NOT to be messed with (46:51)......
Thank you for putting this montage between these two powerhouse characters together ! I absolutely loved their back-and-forth banter on the show watching it back in the 90s! It was/is hilarious! But there’s a lot more! Is there a part two of Allison versus Amanda?? 😅
When you're younger.. you might side with Allison or Jane and Jo... but older, you realize why Amanda is why she is. She didn't trust anyone and had few friends. Smart!
A friend of mine was on crew on this show and said Locklear was coked out of her mind on this show. He said she’d look awful, tired and not all there. Then she’d go in her trailer for some sniffy sniff and come out looking amazing full of great energy and killing it in front of the camera never missing a word or skipping a beat.
This was a really good serie!😂 Must see in every week because so much happened in one episode! Sidney was my favorite but these two had good fights for sure!!
@@JLDReactions I feel like Allison and Amanda both have some very sinister ways about them. I would say Allison is worst because it’s always the ones pretending to be nicer than they are 🤣
@@Jerel_con_jotaAlison was a gullible idiot trying to play a role that's more than what she can handle. She couldn't lead a fish to water from a pier😅😂
Nice compilation! however one major iconic scene is missing! "all you will be left with is that proverbial wish that you've never been born! now I believe we have client waiting" 😀From 33:57 I'd have added the scene where Alison were sitting on Amanda's desk informing Amanda the board has decided to replace her "and take that garish piece of glass with you"..
...Heather & Courtney ROCKED these roles, for the viewer who loves the "Frenemy" aspects of the Workplace! (47:37) ...Amanda had masculine tendencies to her drive for success (which Alison envied) (25:25), but, felt she could be better at it...yet, gave in to her insecurities, which Amanda used to PUMMEL her into the ground! (45:18) ...CLASSIC 90's TV, personified... (21:17)
Apparently I needed to come here and acknowledge how old I am. The video is blast from the past! I don't know if it airs in USA, but I haven't seen MP video, episode, a reference for ages.
I absolutely loved this show!!! I’d sit and wish this was my life. Now, I am so glad it wasn’t! I may not be rich but I wouldn’t want to trade places w any of them. 💜
It's interesting that years ago, I would've definitely been rooting for Allison, but after everything I've been through personally and professionally, I identify more with Amanda. This isn't about me, by the way. It's just an interesting character study. Amanda understood human nature and flaws and didn't mind taking advantage, which isn't very nice but it's in reality, unfortunately, how people sometimes suceed. While I wouldn't throw anyone under the bus to save myself or bring my personal grudges into work, the truth is that the world is still about survival of the fittest.
Amanda was always non empathethic, this video has shown the best on her, bur not her petty moments. As I have watched all episodes, so I think Alisson addiction is triggered by Amanda, she wanted to be a friend and stabbed on the back.
Спасибо парамаунт 😊😊😊 две самые главные женские актрисы мелроуз. Специально подписался на вас, т.к. у вас есть этот сериал +/- хорошем качестве и смотрю. Спасибо!😘
No Amanda has empathy and Alison is not being upfront and being sneaky. Amanda just deserves everything which is why she ate her salad because Amanda is the highest and puts all the other women to shame. Alison better bow down to her and Amanda better dump Billy and find better guys to be with than just one.
Alison may have cute outfits... perhaps better than Amanda at times, but Amanda is more pure and good hearted and fair. Alison is a total snake and I can feel her energy. I would quit the company and start new somewhere else and take Billy or just dump Billy because he's caught between two women and that is a sign of weakness.
What?? Amanda was a snake. She gas lit, back stabbed and did everything she could to advance her career. And her outfits were great, Alison's style couldn't compare 😂
Never got into MP back when it was on. I lived 90210, but just couldn't get into this show. Sad since I love bother Heather Locklear & Courtney (last name escapes me). May have to revisit to try to watch this now.
My husband and I were married in 93 but were huge Beverly Hills 90210 fans and then watched Melrose Place religiously. We were in that same age group as Billy and Allison so all the actors we grew up with. It was so addictive back then. 😂
I could never work for my gf and be treated the way she treats Shue what if I made a mistake in an account our relationship would maybe be jeopardized just saying
Creating Amanda Woodward was a great 90's TV invention. Heather Locklear is great.

Please tell me your comment was pure sarcasm lol because how on earth would that fictional situation be relatable in any way? 😂

When I was a single career girl I’d watch this every week with the other single career girls in my building over cocktails! So fun….
Loved this whole series too!
When I was in middle school, my social studies teacher, who was definitely in her 20s back then, used to talk to the other teachers about watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer 😂.
Hated Amanda back then...now I realize she was the strongest, honest and most interesting character on the show. Cannot wait to rewatch this!

Exactly, I hate Alison now and not Amanda at all. Amanda is more pure.
Yep.
Yes.
I was always Team Amanda. ❤
Alison was a hater from the very beginning. She didn't want to be with billy, but she didn't want him to be with anyone else ..

Amanda was a beast. I loved it.
Can't believe I sat in one sitting and watch this. This was very good. Juicy.
Alison talking about Billy - Ally McBeal vibes 😂

The Melrose version of Brenda vs. Kelly/Valerie vs. Kelly.
"Billy is a great friend, and me pays the rent on time."😂😂 Gotta love Alison!❣❣
0:54 You just knew from that villainous laugh that she was definitely gonna be nothing but iconic on Melrose Place

That’s awful, lol…
I love watching the clothes they were wearing back then.
The clothes were amazing 🥰😍
All this drama over Billy is so funny. He's probably the lamest male lead on an Aaron Spelling show that was ever written
In the 90s he was dreamboat material. He’s the original golden retriever boyfriend.
in a tie with Grant Show lol
I know. Billy puts me to sleep 😴 💤
handsome but about as interesting as a single wet noodle!
There were slim pickings of men on that show. Billy was the best they could do - and Jake.
Look at them old computers & no cell phones eithers. 😮
90210 and Melrose I never missed it watched with friends or at home
Billy was a shue in for both women.

Amanda Woodward hands-down best character villain on TV probably ever… except maybe for Abby Ewing

Rewatching this as an adult, I’m not so sure who the villain is🤔

Team Amanda
I didn't realize how much friction their was between them in the workplace. I thought they had more fights outside of work.
i miss the 80s and 90s i had the same blonde hair and clothing.
Ahhh the Memories, it's SAD they don't make shows like this ANYMORE... 😔
They do, but the actors have no charisma and the writers try to recreate shows like these through theirs.
90210 and this show was my favorite in high school especially since I was bullyed for for 3 years in high school
Allison so beautiful!

I know it's a soap, but Alison should've fired Amanda from the jump. That would've solved that immediately.

I was rooting for Allison but she was nauseating. Never a straight shooter.
Neither was Amanda.

You can see Heather’s hair frizz-fry up more & more as the episodes go on, and she goes bleach blonder.
Amandas hair is a mess
Alison had nicer hair. I love the long cut of later seasons.
Awesome montage!!!❤
Billy was such a boring guy.

Billy - a f boy from the 90's. One of the first modern f boys😂!😅
Amanda - One of the first modern narcissist characters on TV. Classic!
I say that title goes to Kelly Taylor-who exists in the same universe.
