CLICK my story link to find out why there is a critical shortage of new Toyota Tacoma trucks right now and how you can get one. www.torquenews.com/6626/inventory-critically-low-2020-toyota-tacoma-and-here-why
no shortage of them at any of the lots within 1hr drive from me. Is just certain states? I visited 5 lots and they had 5-7 ea of SR5, Trd offroad, and Trd pro.
I bought a base model 2020 TRD off-road 4x4. I got it for 35k and tag price was 41k dealerships were taking 6k off about a month ago because of the pandemic. I shopped around till I found one in Quicksand.
rawl91 ive been looking at one in Austin too 😂 if you get the premium off road it comes out to nearly as much as the pro. Both hold value good though 💪
I've owned 3 Tacomas. Would like for Toyota to offer the same rear sliding glass that the Tundra/4runner have that allows the entire back window to roll down. Maybe on the next generation....
Get the pro if your not going to mod. Getting the OR will save thousands. Use that money to make it your own. Add icon stage 5 suspension lift, tires, lightbar and your still below the pro. Just like my 2019 4runner Trd OR
You can spend the 10k extra on customizations but you have to take into account you will not have the moon roof, leather seats bed lights or the JBL premium sound system. The TRD pro may be 10k extra but that's the cost if you want it all without the hassle of modding it out. I bought the TRD Off-road premium with basically everything on it that the pro has besides the badging, fox shocks and the skid plate. If I had it to do over again I would have bought the pro and done some minor customization like bigger tires and a 2 inch lift.
Not sure about your area but I got my off road 14k less than a Pro in May. It had leather and heated seats installed already. Suspension, wheels, tires, grill, led bulbs etc. I'm at almost 5k. Bed lights are 60 bucks. Just got them. Plug right in. Didn't care about the hood and didn't want moon roof because you loose headroom in back. After a speaker upgrade and a couple of little things I'll be right at 6k invested. Better tires and at least as good as suspension. More ground clearance. Can only lift the pro an inch in front without having to ditch the fox shocks. Still at least 7-10 k cheaper than a Pro depending on dealer pricing. Worth the extra work to save that much, too me anyway. If you're impatient or think it's a hassle then I get just buying the Pro and leaving it as is. If not everything you add just makes it that much more than the off road.
I went with the pro. I really don't care if it costs more. I like it. I drove my last Toyota truck for 18 years and got 30% of the msrp back when I sold it. If this one lasts 18 years I'll be 83 and i'll give it to my grandson. : )
The “off-road” still comes with street tires. I bought the off-road and first thing I did was get real tires and wheels. Predator steps should not even be offered on an off road, for obvious reasons.
I just made a deposit on the off-road, but it came with the premium off-road package (leather seats and whatnot). I'd have been just as well off getting the pro since it already has all terrains, but I get the predator steps and I really wanted the green. I had to make a few tradeoffs.
@@kyleritchie50 I run Blizzaks in the winter with about 300 lbs of sand tubes in the bed, made a huge difference, then after March put the KO2’s back on. That green is pretty sweet!
Bought a nanual transmission 2021 Pro, added a Westcott Design TRD PRO lift and 33s. Missing some re-gearing, but soon to come. Love the truck and don't regret the purchase one bit.
Thanks for the good review. Need to have them build more so I can buy one at an acceptable price. Low inventory of off-road in cement makes negotiations difficult.
I put the 17” 4Runner trd wheels on my off road. After a while I’ve gotten tired of black on white look. At times in certain lighting it looks like an empty void/black hole in the wheel wells especially if you don’t have white lettering on your tires. The standard off road two tone wheels compliment the truck in white better imo. Weird gear shifting and sluggishness has me thinking a possible move to f150 in the future though.
Funny video! I chose the TRD Off Road, access cab, 6 foot bed. Added nice ARE Camper shell and Carpet Kit and I’m a happy camper, I’m too old for tents and there’s no way I could sleep in the short bed. Considered the TRD OR Pro but to me not worth the extra money, the Off Road does just fine in the dirt and unless your a young crazy dude it should be adequate.
Thank you Toyotajeff for these reviews. Weighing the decision to get a 2020 Off-Road Quicksand or wait till the 2021 Off-Road Army Green when it becomes available on all models
Just got rid of my ‘19 off road cement. Miss the truck but the shifting drove me nuts at highway speed. Thought about getting it rehearsed but never did. It was a great truck, unfortunately when it came to doing truck things like hauling a RV trailer it was just to small for my needs. Great truck for around town and off roading tho.
When the next generation of Tacoma is released in a couple years, I will look at the TRD OFF-ROAD 4X4. I prefer full size trucks but I love this Tacoma. Hopefully there will be a little more cab space.
That’s bs the Toyota Tacoma have the best re sale value when you want trade in you old Tacoma for a new dealers give you the Low price they can get us a costumer always loose many on Vehicles 🚗 but I like the off road Trd the pro is too Expensive
Excellent comparison video. Off Road looks bad ass, but Pro seems a little more comfortable for everyday driving, so I’d go with Pro since I need it for that.
Thanks for watching! Comment with your choice ... Please SUBSCRIBE if you haven't already. I try to be your complete Toyota resource. I hope I can help you! Jeff
What’s up Jeff love the videos looking to buy a Tacoma pro sadly I’m in Texas or I would get one form you. Just want to clarify something. Does the 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro come with a 2.5 lift stock? And is it only in the front of the truck?
I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am that is still going strong with no issues all these years. The TRD off road is the better value. Fox shocks are overrated.
I’m debating between both. Reason being is you can get true off road in 6 ft bed which trd pro is only 5. Not sure which one or if a foot matters. But the pro looks clean and love the mods since I won’t really off road. Hmm. An extra foot bed
Agreed! Learned from experience when purchasing my 4Runner TRD Offroad. Offroad was negotiated down to 40k out the door, whereas when inquired about the TRD Pro they said "these are high demand, price as is"
No comparison... Pro today, tomorrow, next week. Mine should arrive tomorrow. Ordered in Jan. But then Covid came to town. Actually rec’d better deal on the Pro than a loaded OR. Weird I know.
Jeff I enjoy your videos and I have subscribed. I know things are quite different now than they were when you made your Scotty Kilmer video, but I wanted to share some info from Michigan. The MSRP on a 4x4 SR Access Cab I4 is 28,713. The MSRP on a 4x4 SR Access Cab V6 is 34,605. That is unfortunately much more than slightly more than a 2000 dollar delta these days. I'm very excited about the 2020, it looks great!
So, the difference in a loaded (prem w/tech) DCOR and PRO is the suspension and accent pieces? Knobs, skid plate etc.... For a few K more, the PRO seems like a no brainer, I have heard that buyers are able to negotiate a bit more on the DCOR though.... Thoughts? And, is there any chance we could get an idea of what a good deal on one of these would be? :)
Troy Hasty So basically you paid less than what’s on the window sticker? It would be appreciative if you explain about your experience. I’m thinking about getting a pro.
@@josem9188 when u go talk to someone at dealership tell them up front msrp or you gonna walk ,I got 1k off msrp that was the bottom line on my truck ,I would test the waters now that this virus stuff is going on and try to get more off, that should help with price going down, they gotta sell them after so long on dealership even if they break even, hope this helps.

I think if you want to stay pretty much stock, then get the Pro. If you know you want to do lifts and mods, then go Off Road.
I just bought a 2021 TRD off road & I absolutely love it!
I’m picking up a TRD Off Road in 2 days.
Same I just got mine for Christmas
What's your thoughts on the truck after 6 months? Considering getting one myself
@@danielsimchuk7562 I love it man. Wish the gas mileage was a bit better, but other than that it's perfect.

Off road all day. Just picked one up for 14k less than a pro with leather installed. Lifted, wheels, tires, grill etc. Still 9k cheaper.
This man at 1.25x speed is like a cocaine fueled bat out of hell, and it's great.
Good video. I really loved how you compared all the trims. Toyota need to hit the heated steering wheel game.🇨🇦
Loved the Ric Flair WHOOO!
Yooo my boy wild for that one
It was awesome ahahah
Buy the Offroad and build it.
I did, After everything added per my wife to the off-road The TRD pro came out 700 dollars more and it’s still built in Austin Texas🇺🇸 PRO for me.
rawl91 ive been looking at one in Austin too 😂 if you get the premium off road it comes out to nearly as much as the pro. Both hold value good though 💪
Exactly.
Pro is going to be more valuable over time. After market on the off-road will bring the resale price down
id get the pro but it doesnt come in a 6ft bed, so id get the trd off road and build it.

Suggestion for toyota... regear to at least 4.88 so we don't have to spend 5k+ on regearing!
A rear gear only cost me 2.2k
Brad B you didn’t get anti gravity stabilization...SMH
Why would they do that when all the tool bags still buy the f-ing truck even though it has shit for gears.
Wtf are those gears made of? 5k lmao
There's not a better review page of anything. Love this guy

TRD Off road without the premium package
why without the premium package?
Pro for stock and better resale value. Not everyone wants to buy a used modified vehicle.
True, when is comes to resale that's a good point
I agree and good point. Also I love the look of the wheels on the Pro and that grille and standard LED headlights are so beautiful.
