It's interesting why AI can't officially be used Clock and Electric ball against the player. One time I've seen the AI launch an electric ball, but it went half way and then just stopped in place. (this happened on the Polar Pass course. and considering that the disc was a Pirated disc from the USA version, the disc was very scratched.) sometimes left things undrawn and often you could see graphics in the colors of the rainbow.
Classic is the original Adventure Mode difficulty curve. Naughty Dog actually implemented a system where the BOT difficulty actually changes based on your adventure progression and how many time you lose a specific race, it's quite advanced for the time. But it doesn't go as high as our hacked difficulties.

I've been playing the switch version of the nitro fueled remaster... but even though the graphics and new maps are cool there's something missing in the game. I'm really looking forward for the decomp/reprogram project!!! Btw any update on that? Thanks for all the hard work!

How does the AI work anyway? Are they literally just moving along prebaked curves through the level? As a programmer that's always mystified me, their movement looks decently organic so there has to be a shitton of them?
The AI is "almost" fully understood, it's used in Tile Trauma to make the bots go around at the end of race. It's a series of points with different data for animation, lighting, and jumping. All the weapons are purely random

There is also a bit of a rubberbanding factor that this mod actually affects. The AI won't necessarily just go fast at higher difficulty, it will mostly only do so if you also go fast. The rubberbanding is more apparent especially in 1v1 Boss Race.
A new difficulty selection mod seems top-notch. Any way to play any and/or all of decompiled CTR besides PC when it's all complete and ready? Or is it just on PC in someway or other only?
ok, I'm testing it first in super hard difficulty in the japanese version. There is a problem with the red gem challenge, only one bot is picking up fast and that's fine for me, the problem happens when we are already in the 3rd round, for some reason its speed drops a lot. It looks like it's already crossed the last lap. I don't know if that also happens with other gem challenges

I have a question and I would love to find the solution. Is there a way to have the ultra hard mode + the official nitro fueled turbo pads in some mod? I am trying to make my gaming experience identically difficult as the PS4 version, in short I would like to know if I can use the blue fire only from the official turbo pads of the game together with the ultra difficult mode. I hope you can help me with this problem that I still can't solve. PS: I don't want all turbo pads to have blue fire, just the official ones in the game (castle cortex, polar pass, n. gin labs, hot air skyway, oxide station).

I was playing this game since i was 9 , but that ultrahard mode , well , it's far beyond being possible to beat them , unless you use infinity mask power up or retro fueled or be extremely powerfull or lucky ( for good items like at least one n.tropy clock ) other wise you stand no chance

Your best bet may be to install the mods by patching them on PC and then put the ISO on your phone by a file sharing media or USB cable. Theres instructions on how to patch it on PC
Just to understand if I got this correctly. Pura is my favourite character to play but I could never use it in Adventure mode because it would force me to play on easy mode. With this mod I can play Pura in adventure mode and play on hard difficulty?
You have always been able to use Pura, and yes you can play adventure mode with harder difficulty now (doesn't mean you were forced to play on easy, it's actually dynamic).
@@faradise3819 Oh yeah I knew that there were different classes based on the driving style but simply put, when I played it as a kid I misinterpreted those as being also difficulty levels. So, it's a misconception I was carrying over since my childhood that now has been cleared.

@@donramitas You have to learn to use our developer tools to combine them. Otherwise, you'll just have to wait until we make a modpack combining the two. If you want to learn more, you can join our community server (CTR-TOOLS)
We haven't tested on PSP specifically. But we have tested on Real PS1 and it works. Just patch your copy of the game and then transfer it to your console.
The mod actually don't affect anything about their speed but rather their rubberbanding factor. They don't necessarily go fast at higher difficulty, unless you also go fast. In some cases like 1v1 boss race, the rubberbanding gets stupidly ridiculous. With more research, hopefully in the future we can implement better lanes for the AI to use shortcuts too.
Ultra Hard was included in the original game? That seems rather way too hard lmao, almost close to impossible (especially on tracks with no or really bad shortcuts)

So this is what Nitro Feuled Hard mode is based on. It makes sense now.

Bin and C file are the source code we used to make the mods, not the published mod itself. You should download the "Mod Collection" instead.

It is still possible to beat Ultra Hard without masks, but yeah it is very very hard to do so.

Oh ok it's a misconception I was carrying over since my childhood that playing a "Beginner" character meant that the difficulty was also lowered.

Cool that there's harder modes, but it kind of sucks that all it does is make them impossibly fast. Shows the limited AI of the time.
I think it also would be cool to change the AI "rails" to make them use shortcuts.

Normal is between Medium and Hard.
