Hi there Tom, you do such a great job with these videos. It's hard enough to take work-in-progress pictures when I build my kits but you are able to make a full stop motion/timelapse movie from beginning to end (not to mention the post production involved in the final video). All of them are just fascinating to watch and everytime, I try to analyze your thought process. i.e. which assembly to build and paint and shoot the video (you probably even have a storyboard for the scenes). It blows my mind how you are able to be so prolific in making both kits and videos while I can hardly finish a couple of models in a year. Maybe you should do a behind the scenes? Then there will be a flood of these types of videos. You know the saying, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. You should take comfort that you are the original. Just like how some video special effects are now labelled "Ken Burns" maybe you'll see modelling videos that are "Tom Grigat" style. Keep up the good job and know that there will be a lot of us that enjoy your work. -Joseph
Tom, I've watched a few of your videos now and I'm really knocked out by your channel. The standard of the model making goes without saying, but the creativity and technical excellence of your videos is top notch too. Congratulations on a great channel.
To hear you're working in the TV sector makes your words even more impressive to me - thank you... I promise to improve my work on upcoming projects ;-) I use these little clips to train my animation abilities for my daily job.
The whole thing is spectacular. The build is un-canny, weathering, details the whole thing. The video production is also top notch. The time that goes into a stop motion of this frame rate is massive. Top job
Ah Ha!!! I have cracked the case of the mysterious powers of manipulation by this wizard of the modeling world. I was fine-tuning the electronics on my mid-infrared goggles (don't ask what I employ them to do) when I just happened to look down at my computer screen tuned to this very video and lo and behold I saw several elves who had previously been employed at Santa's North Pole workshop and they were assembling the teeny-tiny components!! I was stunned and also relieved that our intrepid modeling genius must also have some assistance in creating these wonderful airplanes and videos. Thanks for the helping hand, Elves. Cheers.
Nothing I can really add from these comments but that was the freaking amazing, entertaining build video I have seen to date. Standing ovation from over here!
I'm so glad I subscribed to your channel! I'd never build most of the kits you do BUT, I wouldn't miss one for the world! This one is truly outstanding!
I thought I had seen all about model kits videos in UA-cam, but your videos are simply awesome!!! Extremely professional!!! As well as your model kits as well. I am very very impressed. Excellent job!!!
I may have said this already on another of your posts, Tom, but I really don't know which is more amazing, your modeling skills or your ability animate. The combination of the two makes your wonderful channel unique. Very well done.
I saw a Hawker Sea Fury at an airshow once - it had Australian markings. What a beast of a plane - I think it had a 5-blade propeller and the engine spun "in reverse" of almost all other piston-driven aircraft. It had amazing power. Beautiful aircraft.
Outstanding.... left me breathless! I would love to see an uncut and full length video on your stop motion process 😊 even if you could upload it in multiple part's. I would love to see how your work through this magical and absolutely beautiful process. thank you! thank you for everything you share of your art.
The Tempest, an amazing, under-rated fighter/ attack aircraft... the Mk2 was due out soon, wouldve been even more bad ass, but a few months too late for WW2. The Sea Fury took up its crown and totally smashed the rules and imo became the best ever prop driven fighter/attack aircraft.
‘Well done Tom, honestly, fantastic work and please don’t give up , keep posting , absolutely amazing and love your work , especially the wiring add on’s and even the chipping technique, absolutely brilliant and original, definitely going to use that idea, I’ve got VEGIMITE here in Australia, neither the less, excellent work , keep it up :)
Thank you - but It usually takes something about three times and more. But for me it's some kind of intense concerning about the modelling process, so time doesn't matter ;-)
The detail and craftsmanship of your builds in unreal!!! How many hours from start to finish would you guess the actual build time was? Maybe hard to figure with all the immense time the stop motion filming must’ve taken. Keep the builds coming. Truly impressive!
Awesome job my friend. I wish others would use this style of assembly video! Too many builders try to promote themselves rather than the aircraft and their music is annoying.
beautifull beautifull.. and i must say.. beautifull! Your videos apart from tge outstanding build quality have one thing that i just love... they trully Make me smile .... its just a pleasure to watch it
On a serious note, the weathering on your Tempest is uncanny. Great work and great stopmotion.
I'm always impressed by the quality Tom creates in everything he does. The music is unbelievably good too!
I don't know what's the most impressive; the model build and paint work or the video production! Excellent!! 😎👍👍
Thank you very much
Looking for words.... let's just go with "WOW". The camera works allows one to see details from multiple angles for references- much appreciated.
I'm pleased you like it 😊
My wife looked at me in such a weird way when I laughed at the "Marmite bit."
Again, excellent video and model. Thankyou.
From 3:48 beautiful weathering. I keep replaying this part, every time amazed.
Coolest style I've ever seen a build vid produced. Excellent build also. He head turn at the end is hilarious!
Thank you 😊

Wow, what kind words... thank you. I'll think about, doing some kind of "making of"
Oh my god, I can't even fathom how long it must have taken you to make this video and model! It's fantastic, my chin fell to the floor. Just amazing!
Wow Tom that is great cinematography. Bravo. And the Oscar for best Short Animation goes to. . . 🏍🇨🇦
Thank you very much 😊
Not only the model itself but the editing is so good aswell! Thank you for this work!
Masterful work Tom. Great larger scale build. Love the pilot figure. Build, paintwork, and stop motion are all wonderful. Much respect my friend. Bill
PanzermansBunker thanks a lot 😊 the figure is a thing on its own...
Loved the transition to b/w

wow, thanks for your kind comment ;-)
I work in film and TV, Tom, so I know how much work this takes and how difficult it is to get it so right.
To hear you're working in the TV sector makes your words even more impressive to me - thank you... I promise to improve my work on upcoming projects ;-) I use these little clips to train my animation abilities for my daily job.

Sir, if "mad" has any positive sense, then you must be mad.
WOW ! How on earth could you do that !?
Magnificent.

This build is a masterpiece
I may have said this already on another of your posts, Tom, but I really don't know which is more amazing, your modeling skills or your ability animate. The combination of the two makes your wonderful channel unique. Very well done.

Your work has inspired me to make my own stop motion video of a bf 109! Thanks so much!
I'm pleased to hear - have fun with your stopmotion assembling! You're welcome 😊
I love Hawker's old naming convention. 'Hurricane', 'Typhoon' and 'Tempest'. Of them all I like Tempest best.
I saw a Hawker Sea Fury at an airshow once - it had Australian markings. What a beast of a plane - I think it had a 5-blade propeller and the engine spun "in reverse" of almost all other piston-driven aircraft. It had amazing power. Beautiful aircraft.
Your work is just stunning.
