  • During a parliamentary inquiry into social media and Australian society, the Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young asked the executive chairman of News Corp Australia, Michael Miller, whether referring to the Greens as ‘anti-semitic’ and calling Adam Bandt ‘hitler’ helps to build social cohesion in the community.

    Hanson-Young said Miller has to take some responsibility for the 'hysteria' published in his newspapers. 'I’m not going to argue today over something which you personally disagree with and that I could find people who personally agree with it,' Miller said. 'And that is the role of media to surface those varying opinions.'
