Nice video. It's a great kayak for the money. I bought my Explorer K2 6 years ago and have taken it on lakes, sea, rivers and canals here in the UK. Never had a puncture so far and the bow even survived riding up over a submerged rock in Lake Coniston without ripping which is a nod to it's durability. I ripped the seam of a seat where the base joins the back when I slipped getting into the kayak once but managed to buy another seat second-hand on eBay for not much. I also always fit the skeg on the bottom of my K2 as I found it really makes a difference keeping the kayak on track in crosswinds to prevent it turning to face the wind or waves due to weathercocking.
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear your kayak has held up after 6 years! Which is pretty great for an inflatable. I havent taken mine out much but i'm hoping to get out more this summer. Cheers!
The K3 Explorer looks good. When fishing, of course, you have to watch out for the fish hook or the blinker. Great Video! greetings from Thuringia Marco & Racoon
Hi Eddie! We started off from Hemmingway Harbor, by Boulder Beach / that tiny little fishing pier lol easy place to launch bec you can drive your car right up to the water
I noticed when you came ashore there were some sharp looking rocks, the environment I’ll be in will usually have stumps and other sticks. How durable is the material?
Hey Rex, it did pretty well going over rocks like that (I didn’t get any holes at least lol) the plastic is pretty hardy but I’m also very conscious about what I float over and how much weight I have in it when dragging over possible sharp rocks or debris
Hey Danny! The seat sits pretty low but as long as the straps are tight on the side, the back rest should keep you upright and it was pretty comfy. I over tighten it a bit more too so the back rest is sturdy when I lean back 👌🏽
Hi Bobby, its from Amazon, called the Onyx Kayak Fishing Life Jacket amzn.to/2SP9DXg It's gotten a bit expensive tho now that i'm looking at it now priced at $99 as of today but when i bought it last year it was only $65 which was a great deal for a life jacket.. fishing specific vests get ridiculous expensive ~$140 range that i've seen in store
Someone told me that the shark fin you attach to the bottom helps with keeping the kayak straight, i havent tested it out yet though? But it may also be the way I packed the kayak? May need to play around with shifting weight from front to back and make it more proportional. I'm not sure either tho lol
@@Kadenventures I'm pretty sure that "spinning around" phenomenon is similar to a compass point always facing North. Does it always stop in the same direction?
@@gomyr562 I never thought of that but i'm not sure if I end up facing the same direction everytime it spins around lol ill note that for my next trip though. Thanks for watching!
Its not bad, theres plenty of room inside i'm just more cautious about hooks when i'm in it vs when I would fish from my hard bottom yak lol It is a bit squirrely tho when the winds pick up so if your trying to fish in one spot it would be best to have an anchor
@@Kadenventures I would say it will mainly be used so I can take my daughter out on the lake at campgrounds maybe a few fishing trips like you said I’m a little worried about a hook catching it lol
I just got my Kayak on Saturday. Hemingway will be my first outing. I have to build a Kayak cart before I venture out. Let me know if you would like to meet up there.
Nice! Its been a good kayak thus far. its pretty light weight so you may not necessarily need a Kayak cart unless you got a bunch of gear in it already. Yeah let me know when you head out I may be able to swing it!
@@Kadenventures I have a Riot Mako 10 pedal kayak, not an inflatable. While I can carry it, my back prefers that I don't. The kayak trolly is done and I'm heading to Hemingway on Wednesday. The wind forecast for the weekend looked a little uncomfortable. It's looking much better mid-week. Come on out if you can. I have a silver Ram Promaster camper van.
Thanks for the video! My wife bought this kayak for me and my 9 year son to go out to do some fishing. Space is an issue so the inflatable option was the best. Interesting about the paddles. I was hoping besides the hook potential that the kayak would be decent for fishing. Looks like it worked for you!
Hope it was helpful! And Same! My garage doesn't have enough room for 2 full sized kayaks (since the wife may go with me sometimes too lol) I think it'll make a good fishing kayak minus being more cognizant about hooks in the boat :) I'm hoping to do more videos on it in the coming weeks!

Thank you for the tagalong. So calming. The views, the water, outdoors in general, and your narrative. Thanks much.
Thanks for watching! :)
Great footage. Love 1st times, makes for great experiences. Eagle snagging the duck was epic.
Definitely! It was a good time, I cant believe I got that on footage lol

It wasnt bad! I was pleasantly surprised :) Thanks for watching!
Oh it is two layered and I believe it’s also hook proof
K2 not k3
Absolutely need to put the skeg on. Is completely squirrely without it.
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
Where or what part at Lake Mead did you started the kayaking?

Alot of stripper 80ft. We caught big cats near the Hoover damn 30+lbs.
