those waves look about as difficult to paddle into at that size as it gets. Amazing being able to wipe out on those and not get broken or give up. Youth + world class talent + resilience

I can't even imagine paddling out, catching a close out then having to paddling out again in that heavy wave.....

we probably don't deserve it, but i for one would be very grateful for it :)
Back in the early 2000's it was basically only bodyboarders out at Gums. On rare occasion a surfer would paddle over to Gums and take one on the head. This was back when John John and Nate were little kids with big blond afros playing out in front of Rocky Rights. Now, 20 years later, its so awesome to see surfers finally being comfortable pulling into closeout shorebreak
Looks like the mini version of Shipstern Bluff.

Grew up in Boca/Delray. Couldn't take the gutless washing machine so I've been living in the dream the past 8 years in Lima, Punta Hermosa, Peru. World class region. Because its cold. Only surf with the locals.

in the 70s we called that a wicked shorebreak. "A good thing and Big fun then as well. I hope some day to maybe surf again in the right conditions , I am still durable but older and heavier.
