Great video! Crazy how theres so many Hyatts opening up in Taiwan all of a sudden. The Episode Hotel by Hyatt just opened yesterday in Taipei too but that was a rebrand. Have you checked it out yet?
Haha, yes, I plan on staying there soon. The previous opening day was May 20th, but the bookings for points starts on June 1. But Hyatt did change the opening to May 14-15th all of a sudden. I don't know why. But I will stay there soon and book using 12,000 points, but I am also targeted for a Hyatt offer where I can save 20% off on all point stays. Happy! I will make a video about this new Hyatt later~~~
@@PingPingTravel lucky you got the 20% offer! I wanted to book episode for 6/6 but no point availability, are you saying point bookings will be available 6/1? Point bookings are available for later on but nothing for june. I wish there was some more photos of the rooms especially the bathrooms
Wow, I just checked and you are right! There was point bookings starting on 6/1 and I guess that they all sold out and they just accepting cash now. I will stay on 6/1 and booked using points already. I will make sure to do a quick overview of the room including the bathroom. But maybe that will spoil your 6/6 stay haha.
@@piercechan Will do. Just as a FYI, but I really do not like the Grand Hyatt. It smells like an old hotel and service can be lacking. I recommend the W or other hotels in the area instead. But other people have different experiences!
Thanks for your comment. There is already an Intercontinental in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and one will open in Taichung, Taiwan later this year. As for Taipei, the chances are slim. I have not heard of any rumors of such. IHG does not really seem to be focused in Taipei, but other parts instead.
@@PingPingTravel I heard that InterContinental Group will run a hotel near Taipei Arena, but it's still undecided. Which hotel brand do you think is the most useful to have a tier when traveling to Taiwan? From what I see, Marriott and Ihg hotels seem to have the most.
Oh, you are correct! I had forgotten about it. The new Taipei dome (just next to the Taipei Arena) opened recently and there are plans for a shopping mall and an IHG hotel to open in the area. See this link: www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/5081579 As for the best program, the current best program is Marriott because they simply have the most hotels in Taiwan and Taipei. Hilton and Hyatt have the fewest with IHG in the middle. However, there will be at least 4 new Hyatts opening in the next 1-3 years, so it is all up to you! @@hyohunyoun

Thank you very much for sharing good news. How do you think of the rumour that there will be an Intercontinental hotel, an IHG member, in Taipei?

Please see my latest video. The Intercontinental looks to be nearly complete and next to the Taipei Dome. ua-cam.com/video/wMl54s6vfmA/v-deo.html
