Have you tried Moribund's with this since 2018? Have a constant stream of corpses always dropped by a golem for you to faff about with XD.
I couldn't get the hang of not dying in 2 seconds.
Agree, it is fun to play except for dying so damn easy.
Why would they make this the most powerful way to do GRs for Necros? Holy shit I geared all up for this build and when I finally tried it I was just bored out of my mind and hated it. Went immediately back to bone spikes/command skeleton/skeletal mages/frailty build lol. Yeah I may not be able to progress that far in GRs but fuck it's a hell of a lot more fun. For progressing deep into GRs I'll play another class until they change things.

This build fucking sucks. Nothing against Bannik. I know this is the #1 build for necro, but its super boring and underwhelming. I just said fuck it and started trying to get ancients for my Rathma and Inarius build. They are way more fun. If Pestilence is top for necro, then I'm definitely starting a new character this season.
lol, i guess its a mistake to not put paragons for more essence since it will increase the dmg boost from your cube weapon
I just change to pesti build last night. And it really annoying!!! Run like a headless chicken for almost 2mins and feeling “OP” for just 10sec. Seriously?!? WTF! 🤦🏻♂️ and about the door 🚪 opening in some map, I still don’t quite catch it how to break it with this build.
open doors = blood rush a corpse in front of it. attack. just dont spam consume heal corpse
same here Bannik, long cool down, elite hunting and avoid dmg while running not my kind of play style too.
I used Singularity skele mage build when first bought the nerco pack.

Why did you choose the enchantress as your follower and what skills/weapons are you using on her? Also you want to put paragon points into essence (max it out), then dump rest into intelligence and movement speed. Anyone compare the enchantress to the Templar? I use the Templar to get essence regen and heals.
Recently I found a fun way to play the corpse lance set. I use skeletal mage with the rune of gift of death, to leave a corpse behind when they die. To have enough essence in order to always have the maximum mages around, I use the wrists rapers warps which has health globes restore essence ability. Also I use life from death passive which consuming a corpse has a chance to spawn a health globe. Further I use siphone blood with the runes of blood sucker pull nearby health globes, which the skill itself can also generate essence. I hope I expressed myself clear... oh in addition, I use command skeletons with the runes of freezing grasp whenever I see enemies, in order to control them and attract them from attacking me, so I have time to spawn mages, and fire lances from far away
How come you dont use Bone Spear at all?

You are saying that max essence is really important but you arent putting your paragon points into it (?) are the 50 points worth more damage in int or why dont you do that?

take a look @ Lord Fluffy's Blight Spear, i think it is a better suited playstyle for you.
BTW, wildebeest is 3 syllables, "will da beast". They're African critters. I think the English term for them is "water buffalo." Not sure why they used it for the gem name though. :)
Great guide. I really dislike this playstyle, too. It's funny, the two necro sets I like are the 2 that can't use this setup. I like the lazy bone storm for speed and the Rathma Rimehart for power. RR doesn't even need much skill to use it. :)

You're so right about this build. Im running it now with 54% CDR. Obsidian is great to finish off the last few seconds of the cooldown. This is the first cooldown build that ive really stuck with. Its worth it. Now im trying to gear a condemn crusader lol. Think im a cooldown junkie now. Love the vid uncle!

The Condemn crusader is awesome and it's probably a great build to play and learn from, preparing you for the playstyle of the cooldown dependent Pestilence build shown here. I think I have all the items for this build as ancients, but I've never really made this build yet. Haven't played the Necro since winter.
my pestilence is crap gear but still brutal. A bit squishy between LOTD but once cooldown is near 60%, a few hits for obsodian and bam LOTD again.

What do you recommend for the 3 cube buffs?
I have a question - I never understood why everyone seems to use both Corpse Lance and Devour together - aren't they both using corpses? Seems like if I devour all my corpses, I'll have less left to Corpse Lance from, and vice versa. Or does it not work that way? I always feel like I need a corpse generating skill (flesh golem or BR/molting) to go with EITHER C.Lance OR Devour. Also, I don't understand how Simulacrum is more useful than a damage skill. Does the shadow do damage like a minion/pet? is the uptime long enough to be worth the skill slot?
Also, the Pestilence Set Dungeon is the easiest dungeon by far. You can nail it on 1st or 2nd try, even with fresh 70 gear.
Even though you state the essence is important for dmg - its weird that you would suggest to put every paragon into intelligence :P
On the ps4 this build doesn’t perform as well. I’m using a pestilence poison build with revive.
Oh and it pushes about 5 level higher.

i would use the haunted visions in the cube for the longer dmg window on simulacrum :)
Under GR90-100 range this is viable, but the CoE cold rotation is basically needed to do any relevant dmg in high pushing against the rift guardian.

@bannik13 can you try Skeletal Mage [Gift of Death] with Circle of Nailuj's Evol with Devour [Ruthless] with your set up? It has infinite Essence and will give you corpses to work with Pestilence, just want to know if it works on high Rifts lol
Honestly I do better with my custom pestilence build and 0 nada zero land of the dead and bro I do way better the key is balance all around
You know I hate necro as well. But I'm giving it another chance this season. I just leveled one up as a secondary character, I want to give these rat runs a try. I hear necro is more enjoyable to play when played in a group setting so I'm going to give that a try.
Oh and your going to love what I named her (hopefully nobody here will copy) but my female necro is named "Ophelia" ..... Think it through lol ;)
