The big question for the bench is Matching (1) or Contrasting (2)? I'm going to sit on this idea for a while. I wasn't planing on it but if I upgreade the bench I will share.
DIY Creators I think the benches should match... with a single piece of aluminum going down the center of each bench... it's just more modern and a more modern aesthetic like most of the other furniture you've built, in my opinion... Toni From Detroit
(1) Matching I agree with Toni, aluminum down the longer bench(es) would look fantastic. The white gives me IKEA vibes while the table looks high end. Amazing work as always!
Dude, you're magic. From the diy skills, to the camera work, commentary, etc., always off the hook. Working on your knees, getting dirty, and creating absolutely stunning projects. Great job. A million subs coming soon!
Hi Glenn, here is Kaat all the way from Holland. I really really love your video's. You make it seem all very easy. So easy that I would love to make all the things show us. Just don't know where to start. Thank you so much for sharing your skills.
One thing that keeps me coming back to this channel is that this guy always manages to put together something that looks extremely classy with basic materials and tools.
Only criticism: ironically, all the extra screws and corner brackets will actually contribute to the cracking and splintering of the top's wood. This is since the top pieces have no room to move with changing moisture conditions, and will tend to splinter down the middle and near the screws. Another way to fasten the top to the apron is with a long groove along the inside of the apron that acts as an open mortise. You then make little "tenon biscuits" which insert into this and which screw in to the bottom of the top. This way, the top isn't screwed rigidly into anything and it has room to move within that groove. (whew long comment). Still, really impressive design & I hope it lasts.
The bands of aluminum take an otherwise very simple table and make it fantastic! If you do benches, I'd suggest the same finish as the table, with a single band of aluminum running lengthwise across the middle of the bench, to really tie the whole set together.
Your videos are the best on UA-cam. Great content and your narrative throughout is priceless. Such clear and concise descriptions of every process. Just brilliant. Thankyou
I love the bench & table contrast. The aluminum is a nice touch also. I got to learn the clamp trick. You could make millions teaching that!! Great job
As far as the benches contrasting, have you thought about making the seats basically as an inverse image of the table? For example paint the benches a silver color and have stripes stained wood that matches the table wood?
You did a great job! I especially like that you don't have tons of machines like joiners and planers and such, it makes me feel like your projects are doable even for a beginner like me and it shows that you don't need all that stuff to make something awesome.
I really like the contrasting colors. I think it gives it a nice clean look and with the white chairs you can see them better at night so you don't accidentally kick them. Very nice project. Jeff from Los Angeles.
The construction methods aren't all that great but I really like his designs and how he uses simple materials. The quality of the videos is great too. Nice looking table!
I like the contrast of the white benches. Maybe add a dark stripe on the bench seats to match the silver stripe in the table top. The table looks really nice. Your designs of the thick lines really works in this project.
HMMMM...I don't care what some of these people think.... this is awesome...the aluminum with the rich wood color is satisfying to my eyes! If I only owned it. BRILLIANT!
Beatiful looking table. Set the aluminum at 90 degrees in the benches - you've got the pattern right there - and that's a very handsome dining set. Very handsome. And if it does warp, that's an opportunity to try something different next time round.
Beautiful finish on a gorgeous table! I love all your designs and color choices. I love the contrasting seating, which can be used as occasional tables or perimeter seating for Patio Parties and get togethers. The table makes a bold statement with the aluminum accents!
I like the fact you using the jigsaw since some people like me do t have a table saw...so gives me a better idea of doing this . Thank you so much and great work . beautiful items you make
Stunning table !!! Would want the seating to match just my preference . I’m sending this to my husband to watch as I would love this out on our patio , he is building an outdoor kitchen right now and this table would be perfect !!! Beautifully designed and I like all your precautions you take on your projects !!!
@@DIYCreators Did you ever turn these into a plan? I cant seem to find this on your plan website and would love to try and build for this for my deck. Would love to support you in purchasing them like the others. I'm loving your builds, especially the wall mounted entertainment center,.
"Whipped up some quick and easy...." Immediately shows benches with elegant simplicity but clear design... that i'd be proud of as a project in itself. Well done sir!
The table looks really great. Gonna build it in the near future (hopefully), just like some other of your projects. I really love and appreciate how you explain everything and explain why you're doing certain things (like starting in the middle when putting on the protecting coat). Small things that really help, especially beginners like me. Really learning a lot from you which I hopefully can put to good use soon. Keep up the great work.
Great project, it looks really sturdy with all the brackets! I think matching the benches to the table would look great. Continuing an aluminum strip in each bench could really tie it all together too.
This looks awesome! I personally like the contrasting colors but its ultimately up to you since you are the one that is constantly gonna use it. Great job.
That table looks incredible!!! I love the simple seating but not in white. Maybe incorporate the aluminium into the seating. Black seating with aluminium strips? Keep up the GREAT videos. You really inspire me to build! Thank you...
Amazing quality work Glenn I feel you on the Florida heat and humidity horrible down near the beaches in Naples/Collier county enjoy the videos and look forward to more!
Very nice table. My vote for benches is to match the top/legs stain to the the table but hold off on the aluminum. Thoughts are if it does do any warping you don't want a tush sitting on a edge of aluminum that may popup as that wood moves in the FL humidity. Also will make for much easier refinishing after a couple of years outside.
Dope table bro..getting greater everyday..love your progression as a wood worker and content creator..get er done bro..blessings from Miami...keep winning for the home team.
Great video Glen. I love how the aluminium contrasts brilliantly against the dark wood. I'm just a beginner but it's down to earth tutorials like this that make these things accessible to us and I'd like to thank you for making them for us. On the question of the benches? I'm not sure but I think something incorporating some concrete (not much) and some aluminium might offer a way to tie the two things together while still providing a beautiful contrast. I'm no designer so please take that with a pinch of salt. :-) Looking forward to your next creation I'm sure it's going to be fantastic.
I really like the contrast it's what adds to the whole set up for me. Would love to see few more videos with you using the rockler hvlp. I'm on the fence on purchasing it. Very nice looking table
I love this. I am a big fan of wood and aluminum together. As for the benches, the stain could be one shade lighter or darker but aluminum accents would be cool and would tie everything together. You wouldn't need much. Maybe just one strip down each side.
Thanks for the video, I'm going to make this table. My opinion on the benches would be contrasting (white) because its easier to see at night and if you had a couple of drinks
I think the bench seating should match the table. You have enough contrast between the top of the table and the legs. It will add a complete look if the chairs matched.
Looks great! I would want the seats to match only if I was worried about the white showing dirt and wear over time. But visually, I think it looks really good as-is.
That table turned out beautifully, I can't make a decision on the seating without seeing it done the same as the table, I think it would be pretty sweet though! Keep up the good work.
I think this is a great looking table. My thoughts on this is paint and stain "don't look good" so I would either paint all or stain all. Keep up the great vids.
I think more metal would be too much but have you thought about a metal tray insert for the middle to hold ice for drinks or a new fire feature build........ hint hint. Also I love that stain it really makes the character of the wood stand out. For chairs perhaps you could make one side a multipurpose lounge with a watertight lid and storage bin for pillows or blankets or toys for kids. The other side could be a timber bench with a curved seat and try making some fabric cushions or leather to learn some new skills. Thanks for the ongoing cool content.

I'm going to agree with Toni as well. Great looking table
Match it. Nice job. Looks great.
DIY Creators personally I would like to see the seating match the table apron color, but that's just me

The white seats look great as they are. Puts the focus on the beautiful table.
It is so soothing to watch your videos. Your work is very professional, clean, and crisp.
Man, you're going to have to teach me that trick for applying clamps. Table looks awesome bro!
Whats up my dude! It takes a little practice but I got you. Let me know when you ready! Thanks, man!
The bands of aluminum take an otherwise very simple table and make it fantastic! If you do benches, I'd suggest the same finish as the table, with a single band of aluminum running lengthwise across the middle of the bench, to really tie the whole set together.
I accidentally found your videos but am binge watching now. It's hard to stop watching. Thanks. Lol.

Like the contrast gives it a modern look that is reflected by the use of the metal in the natural woods - nice job!
Love it the way it is shown in the video. Fabulous and simplistic design. Don’t need a bunch of specialty tools to make.
I love the bench & table contrast. The aluminum is a nice touch also. I got to learn the clamp trick. You could make millions teaching that!! Great job
Out of all the DIY channels your flair is top notch
LOVE the table. I usually don't like such a contrast (seating and table) but in the dark it makes it look even more modern.
I like the contrast. It matches well with the "slightly modern slightly rustic" feel your table is giving off.
As far as the benches contrasting, have you thought about making the seats basically as an inverse image of the table? For example paint the benches a silver color and have stripes stained wood that matches the table wood?

Love the design. A lot easier than a huge old fashioned pinic table. Love your videos, always including comedy is cool
It’s beautiful 😍 and I love the contrast of the dark table and light seats. It’s modern yet elegant. So nice 👍
Thank you.
That looks awesome. Love the contrast with the white benches. Good job man.
I love the look with the white. I think the aluminum serves as an awesome accent to the contrast
That thing is stunning, and solidly built, love it
Absolutely gorgeous! These videos are just therapeutic to watch

I like the contrasting benches. That's an awesome looking table. I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the great work.
The table and contrasting colours look awesome. Nice work
Definitely a contrasting piece.
Im learning big thing's via your videos. Keep up the excellent work man.
Thank you, anytime
You have inspired me to challenge myself to build and beautify our home. Keep the videos coming .
I like the contrast of the white benches. Maybe add a dark stripe on the bench seats to match the silver stripe in the table top. The table looks really nice. Your designs of the thick lines really works in this project.

best diy channel that i know. respect you man! enjoying your videos
I love how you right get into your work. Standing on the table as you drill in screws - awesome. Keep making videos - please please please
Keeping the white bench I think will be great it bring out the design of the beautiful table OMG THAT'S Really gorgeous.👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you so much and great work . beautiful items you make
Definitely a matching set of benches, look how nice the grain has come out on the tabletop. 👍
Wow...!!! wonderful work...good contrast...warm & cold materials ... congrats... regards from Guayaquil, Ecuador S.A.
Stunning table !!! Would want the seating to match just my preference . I’m sending this to my husband to watch as I would love this out on our patio , he is building an outdoor kitchen right now and this table would be perfect !!! Beautifully designed and I like all your precautions you take on your projects !!!
i love the contrast of the benches and table.
Thank you
I like the white benches, cool contrast and everything still matches!! 👌🏼
Yep, that's my feeling.

Great work, man. I've been watching your videos for a while now, and you're becoming my favorite DIY channel. Keep it up!
Excellent table, and the benches are cool! Great contrast! The table would look great in a rustic look dining room as well. Thanks!
I absolutely love this project. I plan on building a big outdoor table for my patio as well. When I finish I'll shoot ya some pics. Great work again!
love the contrast. its way more appealing
Love the table! I think the white stools look good. But only in a mostly white room. For outside you can do whatever you like. It'll all look good.
"Whipped up some quick and easy...."

Love the table , the contrast is the way I would go.
Great looking table that would add class to most any outdoor area. Thank you for sharing your plan and the construction details.
Very nice. This is a really solid table. I need to build one for my deck that can survive the New England Winters. Thanks for posting this video.
Great job.
Amazing job! I personally love the contrast! The benches match beautifully! Hope you choose to keep them! 👍👍👍
Beautiful outdoor table, love the expresso and aluminum look, my vote is matching seats but either look good.
Glenn you made that yellow pine look amazing.
I love your work man, keep it up! Greetings from Serbia, Europe!
Man that is gorgeous. I love the contrasting seats. Great job
That table looks incredible!!!
I love the simple seating but not in white. Maybe incorporate the aluminium into the seating. Black seating with aluminium strips? Keep up the GREAT videos. You really inspire me to build! Thank you...
Beautiful build! I love your design and how intuitive it all feels. Personally I like the contrast, but I could see either way.
Looks great with the silver aluminum in between the wood.
Amazing quality work Glenn I feel you on the Florida heat and humidity horrible down near the beaches in Naples/Collier county enjoy the videos and look forward to more!
Love it. I think the seating with the same aluminum strip and stain would look fantastic!
It looks gr8 the way it is. Pocket holes is another way for your centre bracing of table aswell. keep up the good work.
GREAT project Glenn. I would make matching benches with the aluminum strips. I do like the one long bench and two smaller benches idea toooo.
Very nice table. My vote for benches is to match the top/legs stain to the the table but hold off on the aluminum. Thank you

“I have plans to make plans...” love that line! Just paint the bench seat black, keeps the focus on the awesome table top.
Thanks for the video, I'm going to make this table. My opinion on the benches would be contrasting (white) because its easier to see at night and if you had a couple of drinks
Love it, great job! I would match the benches with the table. Wood grain top, with a single piece of aluminum, and black painted legs.
I think the bench seating should match the table. You have enough contrast between the top of the table and the legs. It will add a complete look if the chairs matched.
Best project so far! It fits to my skill level. Love it
I like the contrast. Great build.
Absolutely love the table. I'd love the seats and benches in the same colour (I'm from the UK) as your table. Simply beautiful.
Thank you
the set looks great with the contrast
BEAUTIFUL TABLE! You did a great job!
Dam that's how I'm going to do my dinning table. You did that without all the expensive equipment too. U got a new subscriber keep up the good work
“There is plans to make plans.” LOL you’re fantastic and inspiring!
Plans never got made
Thank you so much for sharing mate. A really sturdy and simple design that even I can have a go at.
Looks great! I would want the seats to match only if I was worried about the white showing dirt and wear over time. But visually, I think it looks really good as-is.
Very nice work! I like the contrasting colors.
The stained wood looks terrific and may be more durable than the paint. I would follow the table scheme on the benches. Great project.
That espresso stain looks great. Nice build!
You ain't lying about your sponsor. I know from experience the food is brilliant if you have the time and patience.
Once you nailed it sir its amazing, do not match those sittings with table they are looking different & white looks great. 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳😍😍😍
I love your work! Keep the contrast and please show how to make the bench and the small stools!!! Thanks 👍👍👍👍👍
Added to my build ideas playlist!!! Keep up the good work bro, thanks for the inspiration!!!
