  • Again, I don’t know if this is of any interest? It’s the cutting and assembling of the 7th spread of my recent artist’s pop-up book A SEASON IN HELL. I entirely handcraft each copy, from home printing to slipcase crafting.
Sometimes I like to try to do pop-ups in only a few pieces (2 here, the page and the "mountain range") and by way of compensation folds can get a bit more complex. This is also a plate quite easy and short to assemble. Careful folding is the only thing that takes a bit of time.
This spread entails the 2nd part of "The Impossible" and "The Lightning" by Arthur Rimbaud.
The full pop-up book is here: • Arthur Rimbaud - Une S...
And by the way: with the exception of the generic "Hungarian Map" (pl. 1), a rotated "Turkish / Exploding Map", all PE designs (movable paper sculptures, really) of A Season in Hell are original, i.e. none stem in any existing artwork. There is room enough for creative freedom and innovation (= art, really) in PEing; no need to copy anyone or do always the same thing. Same with all my Movable Calligrams too.
I'm currently crafting a full copy, so I'll document most of it along the way.
    Till next time!

That was outstanding! I also tried Shazaming the amazing music., but couldn't find any of it on UA-cam. Shazam came up with music by "To Relaxing" Hibernacion, Ambiente Verde, and others - do you have a play list? Thanks!

Thanks! The soundtrack is from UA-cam Music Library, in which you can find some true gems. This one is called: Almost in F - Tranquility - by Kevin MacLeod. I took the occasion to add the details in the video description, as it's CC. Cheers!

@@ncpaperworks Thanks for that! On a side note, I LOVE making pop-up greeting cards and always trying to add technology of sorts to them. I try thing of using different types of "media" to encase a pop-up type of product in. Long story. And sometimes are for me to describe what's in what's left of my brain cells. :)

@@OSVS_Mike You're welcome. And cool, are your pop-up works visible anywhere? I'd love to see your experiments. You can send me an e-mail or PM if you don't wish to make them public. Cheers
