For any casual players or Ironmen that want to train Dungeoneering here is a quick TL;DR on how to dung using floors: Use alt1 while doing dungeons, it takes a lot of your focus away and makes you not have to remember every key door. For ironmen and people who have no friends, you dont want to do large Floor solos ever, unless you got the mechanics down and are very fast at it. The general way to do Dungeoneering then is to rush the floors. Simply start up the floors and do smalls untill you are 10 rooms below your current maximum Floor, these you rush in medium and then prestige. (Rushing means to just constantly click all doors you can, pick up every key and ignore the mobs unless theres a Guardian Door. You also shouldnt care about completing the whole Dungeon and just Proceed as fast as you can.)
Once again my man Protoxx comes through! After a 13 year long "break" I returned mid August and thanks to you I've not only gained nearly 800 levels but I've learned many new things and skills since I last played! Thanks for taking the time to do this. Your videos are by far the best and I always recommend your channel to other players.
Damn thorough guide. Niche tip: For the crafting_statue/grapple/chasm/golem puzzles you can use the materials of a room with the same puzzle on rooms with a higher level requirement. Say that crafting a rock requires 102 crafting, you can use the resources of another room that gives such rocks to open it. tldr: always grab extra.

@@taylorman4080 all of the already existing skills gave more reason to level up dungeoneering*. If it gave rewards like it’s little brother, no one would do it. Alt 1 has a tool called DG key or dg helper and keeps track of keys and where your Gatestone that you placed around the map. Very useful especially if going for 120
I find that's a little buggy, especially regarding your gatestones, and *very* buggy when you sync with other players. But when it works properly, it's fantastic
Small tip at 10:45 there is a gorajo card that allows for all skilling doors in dg to be opened by anyone irregardless of level requirement. It is called beguiling smoke devil. With the release of 120 farm and herb and accidentally, according to jagex, introducing it to dg, many high skilled dgers bring them along.
I never have been able to get far into this skill but I've always slacked off on this game, been doing good lately I think im gonna give this a go again
I am amazed by the amount of effort put into this video. Well done sir! I feel like a totally RS3 noob and have always stayed away from dungeoneering but I really want to get into it
39:30 - If multiple people throw a grapple at the same time, it will automatically pull the platform iirc. If you encounter multiple grapple rooms but one requires a stat to be boosted for making the grapple, make one in the other room if you do not have an artisans potion bound, or skip if only one room and almost cleared dungeon. 42:30 - THIS PUZZLE IS EASY AS HELL WITH THIS ONE SIMPLE TRICK; Go one direction and run opposites. North leads to East in next room, go West. West leads to South, go North. North leads to center.... That is N opps. North Opposites. I REPEAT, NORTH OPPOSITES. I have tried to teach this to so many new players and they just never grasp the simple concept of going to the opposite door that they are currently sitting at.
I want to expand on what is mentioned at 20:22. One big thing to keep in mind when skipping puzzles is how much map is potentially behind that puzzle, whether it is bonus or crit, and if it is crit if you have another crit key that opens a big part of map. If you find an emote that only has like 1 or 2 doors behind it, many dgers will just gate the puzzle if it is the beginning of the floor then skip or as dgers often say "melt" the puzzle at the end. This is done as later on the floor more annoying puzzles may show up which are more important to the floor and save more time by being melted. If you are unsure you can always ask if it is okay to melt a puzzle or just gate it.
great guide, thanks for your efforts. bulwark beast needs to be mined by wielding a pickaxe (easily smithed) which removes the armour in seconds; then can be finished off easily with any style.
One perhaps sweaty tip at 24:27 with the icefiend boss is that the 1hp invisibility phase can actually be skipped. Damage from things like wrath, blood necklace and maybe familar damage can bypass the hard hitcap. This is another reason why many stand still. They lower their hp, stand next to the boss, attack then when the icefiend is low hp but not 1hp shadow tendril so it kills the player activating wrath and killing the boss and bypassing the 1hp phase. A blood necklace would be far far harder to time properly although I have gotten it as well accidentally lol.
Yes follow the tip!!! I learned the hard way finishing the daemonheim diaries the other day. Not doing it earlier, I found a firemaking door level 101 and waited a while for it to drain really quick from 102 to 101. It is such a pain to do maxed. Jagex needs to change it so you can still complete it if you have the level and the portent in your inventory. If you're maxed already do larges until you find a door. Or if its possible join a friend in a hard mode floor not sure if thats possible though.
If you are not maxed, and want to play with non-maxed friends, you can bind potions, so you can each bind a different potion making you able to open all bonus doors easily
Cool video! Nice shout out to DG Service, really great dungeoneering FC if you don't want to go through the headache of leveling yourself, they are very passionate about DG there and will help you out! Adelaide, one of their ranks, was super helpful!
At 32:26 the mechanic is not an instant kill. It simply does a lot of damage around 8-9k potentially which will most likely kill you. Also unlike nex, if you are dragged your prayer is reduced to zero as well.
Dungeoneering is one of my favorite abilitys in the game, now I feel that I can go straight to 120 with the support of your video! Ps.: It'd be nice to see a video covering all the dungeonering history/lore haha
Thank you so much for this super in-depth guide. I have an old account, but I'm new to RS3 and dungeoneering so I have no idea what I'm doing. This helps a lot :D
The other thing you can bring into the dung is the 99 skill cape for those going for 120. The cape also boosts all skills. Definitely something to have when going for 120.
7:10 contains a MASSIVE error. What you said is not true and has not been true for I believe 9 years now. The floor numbers DO NOT MATTER AT ALL FOR EXPERIENCE. The only thing that matters is the theme of the floor aka whether it is frozen, abandoned 1, furnished, abandoned 2, occult, and warped. As long as a floor of that theme is open, any floor will suffice and award excellent xp. Many of the elite dgers who hold world records tend to grind one specific floor number as it gives the best chance for an easy boss. This is why in w77 many people will advertise o+2 or w+2 and not the specific floor since that is irrelevant unless a specific boss is wanted.
You yourself even state this about 30 seconds later. The lowest floor uncompleted in that theme will be ticked off and full xp will be awarded. A small note is that you said type of dungeon. I would refrain from saying type as I would infer that to mean dungeon size or complexity. Theme is what just about all high level dgers use.
Small note at 10:25 I and many high level dgers would say there are 4 main types of door. The 3 you mentioned and the enter door. This is simply a door that can be opened without needing to do anything. Also another thing at 11:12 necromancers besides the boss spawn zombies and not skeletons :p. Also in warp floors there are reborn mages which can spawn reborn warriors. Necromancers only appear in occult floors.
Daemonheim can also be reached (for the very first time) from Taverly Ferryman as well who is located by the southernmost bank. However, Lumby and Taverly routes are just about the same. Anyhooo, this was a fantastic guide. And this is one of the things I wished I had seen before getting 99 dung. It still helps me peak to 120 though. Love the effort mate. Top notch.
I remember 2010 dungeoneering, no bonus items no melters , no EOC, boss were fucking hard. That was insane time, no double gates, no custom map interface. No sinkholes, no maw, no nuffing.
Hey guys, 1-99 dungeoneering guide here, just make sure to spend a few months near-maxing a few other skills and grab a bunch of friends to help you rush floors! It'll be a fast and easy skill! What's that? You don't have high skills or friends who play Runescape? Well uh... oh, that's not in the video.
the feathers become useless after you unlock featherless fishing through prawn perks, you can buy anti-poisons from shop guy from the rusty coins on table, i take the cosmic and laws so i can use the tele stones instead of having to make them (didnt finish the whole vid yet, had to head to bed), i'm 120 dung atm just watching to see if i can add anything :P also love watching vids XD 18 mins in and it's extremely accurate as far as i can tell i will watch the rest tomorrow.
Just a tip what you said at 6:40 about always doing c6 complexity floors is incorrect to just about 99% of the high level dg community. Any large floors and mediums before 59 dg should be done as c6 but the lowest floors are commonly done as c1 for the fastest rushes. You can do c6 rushes with guide mode but very very few people do that since many people solo rushes so the ggs loses value, aura 2 is all that is needed to really gate any key block, and c6 unlocks very very annoying puzzles which can not be skipped like robo, vines, and winch. You can also skip rushes with tokens but not many do this since tokens can be used for gorajo cards. Several things to mention about gorajo cards, the solo versions are the best to buy if you are only after xp for yourself as they are far far cheaper. However it is important to note that only 1 solo gorajo card can be activated per floor. The majority of solo gorajo cards also do not stack with team cards. The only exception to this are wildcards which will stack with team cards. Team cards will stack with other team cards however. The whimsical bunyip card is currently glitched so that it will always guarantee 2x tokens the first time it is activated so that can be a nice little boost to tokens from dg floors.
Again at 34:10 the mechanic is not an instant kill. In fact it will never kill you. It will always leave you at 1hp. If you are already at 1hp, it won't damage you at all.
It’s actually such a fun skill, my most favourite. You can play at any level solo, however most optimally would be at higher levels all round as most groups these days are other high level players.
I admit even at post 99 dungeoneering I do a lot of "uhh, sheesh, IDK what I'm supposed to be doing right now, maybe if I teleport to the group gatestone I can help with something?"
This game is overwhelming. I feel like i have fun until i try to look up a guide and then it feels like i have to get a phd in bonuses/boosts before i can have fun
Nice video. The only reason I did dung in the first place was to get the pet for master of all and tokens for the advanced gold accumulator. May have to consider going for 120 now.
What you said at 16:40 is incorrect. There are 2 variables which are the difficulty aka 1:1, 2:1 etc and the (6-n)th highest level in that skill where n refers to the first number in the difficulty. The critical skill doors are at most 9 levels lower than the (6-n)th highest level. Thus if at least one player is maxed in 5:5 with 120 farm and herb the critical doors would be 90-99 and 111-120 for herb /farm. What you are referring to at 16:40 I presume is about xp drops from skilling puzzles which calculate it in various different ways. Also pro tip with skilling doors. If you right click and examine the door, it will say what skill level is required for it so it is easier now than ever before to identify crit and bon. Lastly it is important to note that no door is guaranteed to be crit unless it is obviously the only active path and boss hasn't been found. It's simply that doors which fall the description I gave are guaranteed to be bonus. Doors which require boosts like a 102 str door are guaranteed to be bonus as well.
Damn fact checking as i watch the guide is not a good idea. I am now 100% certain that you mispoke at 16:40 given what you said later on in the 3rd way to determine crit and bonus
At 38:32 immortality is generally better than barricade. For the max binds you would only have a flamevurst defender which only gives enough barricade time to negate the damage from one spike while immortality can negate more especially if the defender damage reduction effect procs. At 38:42 this is no longer true for i believe the past like 8 years. When the safe spike is discovered, simply clicking on the map or floor beyond it will walk the player over the safe spike automatically. There is no need to mark it anymore or anything like that
17:05 has one tiny mistake because jagex fucked up. Divination wasps have been fucked since their release and can not be used to determine crit and bonus. Farming resources also got fucked with the release of 120 farm. If one player has above 99 farming, salve nettles which are a tier 1 resource can be crit as well.
Tbh should be called The Masterguide for Dungeoneering. ALL the most details I can think of are covered. Seriously good- lengthy- but how else can you expect for a skill of THIS complexity imo is to be yet discovered lol.
24:00 about miss info there. you can get killed due to have the code works with the dmg. the max hit is higher than the lowest hp before dmg stops. :D been killed 5 times out of 1k floor leeches xD it happens and the host goes WTF every time since it happens so rarely xD
Hey protoxx great video. Dg is a hard skills to explain. Suggestion: You should have mentionned that you can also pay for dungeonnering with some fc. A lot of people don't know about that.
You didnt explain rings and wich ring to put as primary and secondary and quick switch, also fish ferrets can be done in 2 most of time as ferret 1st runs diagonally and then straight. Hunter ferret can be done with 1 trap only if you dont want to take risk to get bitten. Pondskater is indeed always the southwest he will open his mouth Hen they are all 4 in the middle and you can see right after you open the door as they start in the middle. Also could explain some pathing choices wich is important where to run, peek doors when to break ure gate.

Imagine.... 227k views yet only 2.6k like... cmon people, show some respect! Amazing content as usual!
Thank you so much for this super in-depth guide. I have an old account, but I'm new to RS3 and dungeoneering so I have no idea what I'm doing. This helps a lot :D
Another small note at 43:44. You actually only need 3 people to do a 5:5 lever. 2 people can use bd but this is harder and 4 is usually the min
The best way to train dungeoneering is through stars and lamps XD
200m xp speedrunner. still gonna watch this :P
Madlad
No life
4:00 if you use both locust and preening ibis you get 5x xp on dxp btw
One small mistake at 29:18. The boss can not be damaged with range as he always is using protect from range. Magic or melee are the only options.
Nice guide. The content is very thorough and well explained!
Judging by your name I think you already know how to dg :)
Was planning on trying to get to 90 sook for the demonhorn necklace. Great timing!
At the trap puzzle at 38:45 you can right-click and inspect to avoid taking damage
Again at 34:10 the mechanic is not an instant kill. In fact it will never kill you. It will always leave you at 1hp. If you are already at 1hp, it won't damage you at all.
Thank you for the tip on blink. It's amazing how sometimes the most simple solutions fix a problem. The boss is absolutely miserable otherwise LMAO
As a new player: Oh hey lets check out a dungeoneering guide, the skills seems fun!
Cut to 5:32. Oh well, guess i'll never do this then *shrug*
It’s actually such a fun skill, my most favourite. You can play at any level solo, however most optimally would be at higher levels all round as most groups these days are other high level players.
@@apexpredator9021 I totally agree it is a fun skill once you figure out how it works
Pro tip for the robot puzzle at 41:56: you can right click and it will say what the robot is missing. There is no need to actually look at the robot
Nice video. The only reason I did dung in the first place was to get the pet for master of all and tokens for the advanced gold accumulator. May have to consider going for 120 now.
Awesome guide on Dungeoonering 🌹
Huge effort in this one, respect
Thank you man, I appreciate the comment :P
Ah good, I don't know anything about this skill but it's been on my mind for ages, as I need it for prif and other stuff. This will be helpful.
75 isn't too bad :)
For Saggitare boss, using bleeds like combust carry on after he teleports
Gonna have to use this one to finish off 99 next dxp
the skeletal room in abandoned is not time gated. its ammount of skeleton kills based before you get the message.,
great guide Protoxx. 10/10 thank you Zanfis :)
Great guide, hopefully people get back into old school dungeoneering
At 38:32 immortality is generally better than barricade. For the max binds you would only have a flamevurst defender which only gives enough barricade time to negate the damage from one spike while immortality can negate more especially if the defender damage reduction effect procs. At 38:42 this is no longer true for i believe the past like 8 years. When the safe spike is discovered, simply clicking on the map or floor beyond it will walk the player over the safe spike automatically. There is no need to mark it anymore or anything like that
Good guide, but I'd like to mention Alt1. Very useful to show which door needs which key.
This is all too confusing, maybe I'll try dungeoneering another time.
"do not kill monsters like the other guy is doing" that's my favorite part
17:05 has one tiny mistake because jagex fucked up. Divination wasps have been fucked since their release and can not be used to determine crit and bonus. Farming resources also got fucked with the release of 120 farm. If one player has above 99 farming, salve nettles which are a tier 1 resource can be crit as well.
DUNG HOLE AT SUMMER BEACH EVENT IS THE GOAT
The point of the video is to encourage people to do DG not overpay for floors.
Great video! I can tell you put a ton of work into this!
Damn Protoxx!!! What a video!!! Nice job!!!
Thank you for putting so much effort into this video (and all of them). Your channel has been a life saver.
Glad my channel could be of use!
Thanks for this I just started getting back into dung now I go for 99 😁! Currently 81
By the way I'm getting video notifications late like just got the notification for this 5 days old 🙄
Goodluck! Dw about late notifications
I needed this!
I am one of those players who quit RS almost as soon as the EoC update released, and I never really looked back. I've since played a little bit on an Iron man in OSRS, but now I'm finally deciding to try RS3 again. I recovered my old account which is currently 1,5 years away from a 20-year veteran cape, which I find kind of exciting. I've been checking out your guide videos, and it seems like there are incredibly many tokens and reward coins etc. that I know nothing about that is needed to buy different auras and buffs and gear etc. Is there a dedicated video or page that explains all these RS3 systems for a newbie like me, other than the Wiki, or is the runescape wiki my best bet? Thank you for your great effort and work in all your videos by the way.
Sadly, no :(
Its so expansive that theres a lot of different specific unlock methods. There are dedicated pages for auras tho
@@ProtoxxGaming Just wanted to put a small update here since I find it kind of funny, but it turns out one of my colleagues at work is a veteran RS3 player (rank 4577 on overall RS3 high scores) and he is more than happy to help me and teach me all about RS3.
Well, my next hour of slaying Abyssal Demons is covered, now, lemme go fetch my keg of tea.
Great video! I’m trying to get into dung but can’t seem to find a group, any suggestions?
Ask your clan or try the Dungeoneering worlds and ask for fills. Its not crazy active currently
Thanks, appreciate the advice.
Great video, very helpful thank you so much
You can actually wield dung cape inside dungs also(said in beginning only ring possible to bring into dung), saw later u was using cape inside dung
Yeah I forgot to mention that
What you say at 26:58 is very very incorrect. You want to hide behind the pillar when it is glowing so you don't get hit by the stat draining effect.
Really amazing guide! congratz
Small note at 40:30. The minimum is 3. At 4:4 or 5:5 it will scale up to 4 or 5 respectively.
On the optimal build section, You say T90 melee, range, mage etc. Do you literally mean have all 3 of these weapons bound with no armours ? Or pick one and their related armours ?
Video of the year already out and its only 06.01. Whooaa
