No time to watch it all but the title is very telling. The solution to your own misery is not in making somebody else, maybe your partner, miserable and oppressed. They can even use BDSM as a weapon to say women like submitting and being oppressed.
I'm sure you thought you had a point when you made this comment, but using Google and Sony Vegas Pro doesn't exactly require a person to leave the house - making none of what she did contradict any such promotion of stay at home mothers. Even this would be missing the point however, as Aydin wasn't claiming women can't, or shouldn't be allowed to work, simply that a hyper-fixation on it, and adopting an arrogant, dominant persona and letting your career go to your head, doesn't turn out well. I think a better retort is not that Aydin's argument is wrong, but rather, that the male version of a "Girl Boss" is likely to be similarly unhappy and likely also just an arrogant dick / unpleasant to be around.
you say that this is a dumb video. but first of all you are not even able to show statistics or data or books where are you getting your information she is able to show references where she gets her information and scientific you're just doing commentary your style is hindering you from being analytical that's why I believe you're only talking from experience you're only talking from opinion. I don't even know if you know how to show a statistic or show a study.
ur conversation at 4:00:00 really resonated with me bc i grew up in a VILLAGE 100 people literally a town so small its called a village and it was so lonely i had no friends no one to talk to no one to hang out with and was never included in anything at my school it was miserable
When I’m in a relationship, I get competitive about doing more chores than my partner. That’s probably not the healthiest approach, but I think it’s better than the “it’s not my job” attitude.
3:27 almost any job can be "the hardest" if you are overstretched and overworked, as well as don't have an option not to do it. Also "hardest" subjective to the person who does it. PS. Can we also please normalize women not enjoying taking care of kids PPS. Comparing doing mom job to shoveling asbestos. As of average man is shoveling asbestos on daily basis 😂😂😂
Part of what I got from the data was that the more options we have the more challenged people are with choice. But we are moving through that challenge. People are always learning how to choose and be joyful with their choices. Thus the more options, the higher need for introspection. I think the longer women (and people in general) have these options, the better they will get at grappling with having so many possibilities.
Unrelated to the main topic of the video but- Yaaas Brittany learning the Slavic language 🖤 I recommend watching shows and movies in the language to help learn!
i started watching aydin's video bc i do enjoy conversations about happiness and gender dynamics and things like that but it was just impossible to get through. i feel like people talk about stay at home mums as if it's this universal thing that exists in every culture and has existed throughout all of human history. like the notion of stay at home mum is an anglosaxon trend from the 20th century, that's it. it's not that deep. it's such a tiny part of global women's history, like who cares broooo.
just an example from my own family, in my grandparents generation/bubble it was the norm for both the husband and wife to work outside the home. being a stay at home parent was abnormal. the way it worked is that you had 2yr maternity leave and then compulsory public education from the age of like 2 to 16. and kids would hang out on their own after school. like literally take a plane to another country or read a history book from two generations ago and you will find that basically every pillar of what anglos call gender roles is just a social construct.
I watched this stream and it was a little frustrating because I found the video so boring and biased haha but as always still really enjoyed the stream because I love your energy 😂 You’ve mentioned before in the past about the movie that made you a 4. What movie was that? I’ve been so curious.
I may be completely wrong, but I feel like I've heard Brittany mention Everything, Everywhere all at Once a lot. But don't take that as def the right one!
The 100% approach is dumb. My parents come from a culture in which women are expected to do all the domestic chores on top of having a job, whilst the men arent expected to do anything of that sorts. If your approach to life is give 100% and your partner don't know how to take out the trash or thinks you can fry an egg with a microwave (that has happened), then you're being a loser and enable your partner to not give the bare minimum when it comes to house chores. That would infuriate me and I would leave him, simple as.
@@petalchild most of the time it doesn't . We can agree to disagree but I think you should be expected to contribute something and not entirely be a leech or a doormat. Same thing should go for raising children.
hi brittany, i know this is off topic but a awhile ago you mentioned a movie you watch that popped most of your bubbles thatr was about a primitive man who over the corse of the movie become a messianic figure, what's the name of the movie? i watched back when i first heard you talk about it and i want to watch it again but cant remember the name.
The very first thing you say displays an inability to understand generalizations, so how is the Aydin's video the dumbest ever? "Women are individuals, so you can't make statements about their happiness" is so obviously wrong, but you only can't see that due to ideological blindness (I hope). You wouldn't object to the statement "Men are taller than women" just because "everybody is an individual. How do you know who is taller without looking at the individual?". It's asinine.
Nothing better than making a video arguing that Women are happier when they're oppressed WHILE using YOUR own freedom and PRIVILEGE to make content
