@@HSMfanatic17 She does the standard note on the cast recording. She was capable of doing the higher option, but they wanted the standard one for the album. I think if she'd optioned up on the recording, audiences would've then expected that note to always be used in the show and might've felt let down when it didn't happen.
Some might say I'm crazy, but I saw Megan in Wicked (Los Angeles) 30 times! And each time, she got BETTER and BETTER and BETTER! NO ONE can ever top Kristin. However, Megan TRULY made it her own, and she's number 1 next to Kristin! Because they TRULY made this role their OWN! LOVE YOU! It's ME, DOLPH! (Ok, ignore the above, I had time to think, and it does sound very stalkerish! )
Nah not crazy, maybe a little obsessed but I get it. I just took my wife to see Wicked in Philly over the weekend and I’d go back again in a heartbeat. Olivia Valli as Elphaba and Celia Hottenstein as Glinda and they were both absolutely amazing.
I had the great pleasure of seeing her at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles in 2008. Eden Espinoza played Elphaba. It’s one of the best theater experiences I’ve ever had. I still laugh at the fact that my boyfriend went temporarily blind during the introduction to the One Short Day number. Those green lights! 😂❤
I wonder sometimes that when Elphaba had her vision about the celebration of her if she saw Galinda/Glinda's path and she did what was best for the people and Animals of Oz.
doesn't the Broadway Glinda bubble have a long rod on the back for her safety clip? the tour is the one that uses the small loop in the back of the bubble. I'm just very observant lmao
They have used several different methods for the broadway bubble over the years. Small loop, vertical rod, horizontal rod. Good eye though. You're clearly a mega fan like me haha.
That e6 at the end is NECESSARY - it brings the number to such a dramatic close!
I love that note - I've only heard Kristin, Megan and Alli Mauzey do it so far though - are there other Glindas that did it?
I still find it astonishing for them to reach a note that high AND have vibrato. That's incredible range and technique.
@@ScreamWright I've also heard Cassie Okenka and Suzie Mathers
I'm hyped for Ari's version for the film!
@@ScreamWright ariana grande now!!!
Megan was an OUTSTANDING Glinda!!
I love Hilty's last hign note - it's Glinda's optional high note and it sounds great!!!
I’m surprised that Kristin Chenoweth didn’t think of that during her run in the OBC. That would’ve been pretty badass
@@PapaLobo94 She did do it actually: ua-cam.com/video/RRFlFPnHGjs/v-deo.html
@@PapaLobo94 You can hear her do it in the soundtrack.
@@PapaLobo94 Kristin did it on occasion.

Her voice is gorgeous 😍
Ugh! She’s so good. And gets those high notes right in the pocket.
My favorite Glinda. Megan rang everything out of this role. Just milked it for everything it was worth. The gold standard for me.

If anyone ever nailed a high note, she did!

That high e flat is amazing
She's REALLY GOOD ☺️☺️

God, the E6 at the end is crazy 😭😭😭
amazing casting 😮
I Love her High note 6:37
1:31 stunning 😭✨
Yes, of course Megan was awesome. But damn if that was not a great "A good man scorns the wicked" 2:16 good for you. 😌👏
Right? I also love Brandi Chavonne Massey's "no one cries they won't return"
Do you have the full show?

I always am confused, is that Fiyero or Elphaba's shadow on the clock face?
Elphaba
When does Meghan belt the E6
It’s the last note.
it's certainly not belted though. it's head voice. probably even whistle at that point.
@@fredd8556 Insanely good though, effortless but powerful.
@@ScreamWright oh Megan is the best 😀
At least it's optional, unlike Christine's E6 note in the titular song of "The Phantom of the Opera."
