    I have similar thoughts.
    React was nike's attempt at a more versatile shoe (in terms of running / athletics / strength training) in a lower price point. The overall soft boot construction with enough ankle support coupled with react foam were a fairly good introduction shoe for the more casual audience.
    Zoom, on the other hand, was more niche and had inclination towards the more "advanced" athletes. The slightly higher and stiffer back had more stability for lifting. The grip in the midsection had more grip for rope climbing. The zoom foam had greater cushion / feedback for the plyometrics and explosive movements (and adds to the higher price point).
    Again, I have yet to see the actual durability and wear-and-tear of the shoe down the road. Comparing these to the running shoe counterparts (react vs zoom), Zoom delivers more cushion and energy return more than React but durability seemed to favor the latter.
    Cheers man. Love the content.

      This was a FANTASTIC analysis. Appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts here and write this out.
      Yeah, time will tell with the Zoom's durability. I'm really curious how they fair after the 4-6 month mark with avid wear.
      Appreciate you and thank you!

    Great comparison. Just wondering how much of that extra weight the T2 Carrie’s compared to the Turbos is attributed to the Zoom air component in the insole? Love to know the weight difference between the shoes without the insoles, and the the weight difference between the mid soles.

      Great question - see below!
      Weight of Insoles
      Zoom Metcon Turbo 2 = 2.75 oz
      React Metcon Turbo = 2.40 oz
      Weight of shoes sans insoles
      Zoom Metcon Turbo 2 = 9.75 oz
      React Metcon Turbo = 9.55 oz

      @@thatfitfriend awesome. Thank you! Seems most of the added weight is in the more structured parts.

      @@thatfitfriend I usually use the asics gel kayano for training in the gym but it gets a little wobbly for the heavier sets. Plan to use them for weight training and some cardio (eg jump ropes) Would certainly like it if the shoe is durable and comfortable. Been looking to try out hiit too. Been binging your vids like crazy man, great job keeping it interesting.

    Are the zoom turbo 2 better than the Metcon 8 amp for versatile training?

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  Рік тому +1

      Both work okay. Zoom will give you more versatility wise, especially if you want them for sprints/agility, too.

    Does anyone know if these can be used for basketball?
    They remind me of Kobe’s a lot!

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  Рік тому +1

      Eh, I'd pass on them for basketball. The midfoot could get uncomfortable, IMO, and their grip may not be the best for that context.
