Australia’s Most Remote Hiking Trail - Three Days Alone
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 жов 2024
- The Bungle Bungles in Purnululu National Park is one of the most iconic landscapes in Australia. Even though the park sees over 300 visitors a day during peak season only a handful of those choose to explore it's depths and hike the Piccaninny Creek Walk. Typically completed over 2-3 days, the trail weaves through the ancient landscape venturing deep into the Bungle Bungles. I'm usually not one for following crowds, but with Purnululu National Park being such a stunning location, I had to go. By hiking the Piccaninny Creek Walk it's one of the rare occasions where you can feel completely alone yet but be less than half a day's hiking from hundreds of people.
See the exact path I took;

Note: With the hike being largely within the bounds of a gorge the satellite coverage was very poor. The distance and elevation gain on this is one is therefore extremely inaccurate

Thanks for the overview. really good.
Awesome video mate. Love the instructional part at the end
PeterHennig absolutely love your videos
Awesome. Added to the bucket list. Thanks very much. Great breakdown and another spectacular bit of videography.
Josh
If you don’t mind off track walking - and being a West Aussie - you would love walking from Burra Rock to Victoria Rock - using gps, topo map and compass (goal is to use GPS as little as possible). The planning is the fun bit. You granite hop across the goldfields terrrain. Your midway point (about 12 km in) is this large unnamed rock in the middle of nowhere. Let me know if you want more details.
Love seeing these high quality videos in Aus much needed!
Thanks for sharing Josh. Such a stunning place.

Fantastic, just brilliant.
Such a great video man! Love how the first half is just brilliantly aesthetic and genuine, seeing the effort you put into it and we can relax. And then the information and stories were n the second half. Thanks! Hope u continue to enjoy for yourself wherever u go
Cheers Sebastian, and likewise!
Very, very cool. There’s another one to add to the list!
As always so good to watch and wonderful non intrusic music. Much appreciated. I would love it if most or all of each video shot was longer, allowing time to take in and appreciate the plants and scenery.
Really special place! Beautifully captured mate. Brings back a lot of memories
Really enjoyed how you put the video together.
Incredible area for some outdoor fun
Really cool Josh

Yet another great hike. Thank you so much. I will definitely put it on my bucket list. I just love your videography. This one looks truly spectacular. What a special treat that didjeridoo player would have been. Your videos bring me hope in this lousy lockdown situation.

Awesome video, as always. Shame about the air traffic! I bet that didgeridoo in that setting raised a few goosebumps, though... Love your work, mate - looking forward to the next one! The Larapinta sounds tough - make sure you carry plenty of water!

Magnificent Josh. I like how you don’t talk through your videos. I get to come with you and experience the serenity. Inspiring. This walk is going on the bucket list. Thanks for sharing. :)

@@JoshCarrHikes check his channel hes a bit older than us haha tell him i sent you....Adventures with bernie!
Awesome video Josh, when is the best time to go? I saw it's open all year round but the wet I think starts in October so after that it could be sketchy?
Anyhow loved your videography even if you couldn't fly your drone but I don't think that would have added anything as the angles you got captured that beautiful colour in the canyon walls, following along now on Insta too bud ;)
Cheers Carl, sorry about the late reply! From memory I think they don’t recommend hiking it from October to February due to the heat and increased danger from flash floods.
@@JoshCarrHikes no worries buddy thanks for replying 👍
Sick video man. Was there many snakes or animals that could do serious damage? Would love to do something like this on day but I’d be so scared of getting bitten in the middle of nowhere.
Didn’t see a single snake. I reckon it just comes down to being prepared for the worst. Know what to do if you get bit, carry the bandages and having a plb on you go a long way in having peace of mind
Is it joy flights going over? Or just regular flights?
Joy flights checking it out from above
