Josh,this is far and away the most inspiring video I have seen in some time,your cinematography skills are extremely good.I agree the NT is drop dead incredible landscape wise,and for me,and I suspect you,was a deeply spiritual experience,a couple of years back I did half of the Larapinta,but before that a 3 day tour,Uluru(walked around I. Preference,the climb was still open,there was no way I was going to do that,personal choice,no judgement on others) also king’s canon unbelievable.kata juta so good.I’m looking forward to seeing your Tas hike.Well done.

Thank you for this beautiful video. You make me want to do this treck. It looks absolutely incredible. What an awesome experience these hikes must have been. I was in Uluru a few years ago and did the base walk by myself. My family wasn’t interested in getting up that early. Like you I was completely by myself the whole way around. Extraordinary. Valley of the winds hike in the Olgas was also exceptional but we did see the occasional hiker. Incredible amount of animals there which was great for my family who were visiting from Austria. Very special area.

feels good seeing your videos about the NT. Just finished a week long hike at the larapinta trail today, beautiful place with the flowers and birds on full swing. Just wondering if your goin to do the larapinta trail in the future??? great video 👍

Yep it’s crazy how vast it is. Mine was moreso when I was flying in to Alice over Ayers Rock & the Olgas. Apart from a few mounds here and there it’s basically just a big flat red piece of land with bugger all in between. Would have been hard yakka back in the day traversing that by foot
I remember doing this track. I only went one way tho and then tried to hitch back to my car at Kings Canyon but no-one would pick me up. Walked for a few hours in the afternoon and into the night via the highway. Had a dingo following me for ages which made me a bit uncomfortable. Eventually got picked up by a local Aboriginal family and driven back to my car :) So kind of them.

It wasn’t cheap. Flights return were ~$900. Could have got it a lot cheaper if I didn’t book so late but had to cancel last time around because of covid. Car hire was about $850 & $150-200 for fuel. Accomm for 3 nights (2x Uluru & 1x Alice) was around $110 as I was just camping in non powered sites. If all things go to plan I’ll hopefully have ticked the Larapinta off in a couple months time. I went and checked out the trail head for it while I was in Alice so that was pretty cool to see! Edit: Oh and the overall trip time was 5 days. Flew out of Perth on Saturday and was back by Wednesday night

Not yet but that will be changing soon. I’ve been looking at doing the Jatbula for over a year now but it’s always booked out due to the limited number of people allowed on the trail per day. Seems as though certain companies book the spots at first availability and jack up the price for their tours.
@@JoshCarrHikes ah bummer re: the Jatbula. You will LOVE the Larapinta. The walk in Section 3 down into Standley Chasm is A-mazing. Also, take enough water to camp overnight at a few of the choice 'undesignated' campsites - Brinkley Bluff, Hugh Gorge and that ridgeline (forget its name) around Section 8-9. Make sure to the little side trips: around Ormiston Gorge and up to Redbank Gorge :)

I’m looking up the Olga’s. The NT website says it has a number of trails - which one did you do?
Pretty sure it’s just got two. I did both, Valley of the Winds & Walpa Gorge Walk. Walpa Gorge is just a 30-45min trek but still worth checking out
