I saved him just to spite Audrey.
Look lady, I tried to talk down your crazy plinko girlfriend, but the quest is glitched so she got some blue flame treatment. Figure your own shit out, just because I am one of the 76 Ubermensch doesn't mean I'm beholden to be your personal hand of vengeance.
Honestly hope they just let the next completely NEW map expansion cook for a while, because Skyline Valley is pretty cool but kind of jarringly empty. And no Thrasher meat is really dumb when you even have a ROAST THRASHER CAMP DECORATION.
Roasted thrasher seems like a given! I'm blown away they missed that big of an opportunity
@@SG-sj6cw Maybe with the next Skyline Valley content drop we'll get something. Not crossing my fingers though.
I wanted a dialogue option like, "Couldn't save alex, game kept deleting my disguise, game kept deleting the password, i tried switching servers 10 times, it isnt my fault."
I think some interviews confirm that there will be multiple updates for the map. It's not over yet.
you can't save alex, she is doomed no matter what. the option is death by us the player or death by hugo via a booby trapped book with an airsol toxic poison.
which i thought was crap cause alex is wearing a damn gas mask.
the dialog seemed like there was a chance but only if you could get audry and alex to talk or you facilitate a neutral meeting area for the 2 of them. baiscally it comes across as hugo doesnt want a gay daughter.
Went with Oberlin's option. It actually felt like the best outcome to me.
Same here, It felt like the most Humane & reasonable option.
Btw, during the Boss fight Hugo stripped off his Vault suit & was fighting me naked.
Also, Oberlin was just gonna continue Hugo’s research.
Hopefully with better precautions.
he seemed too thirsty for power. looking to harness hugo for his own uses, and now thanks to this video, hes overseer?
I chose the "Good Ending" but I was disappointed that Oberlin died. I know that with Hugo alive he could find a way to escape, but Oberlin seemed to really want to help the Lost and the Vault inhabitants who were becoming feral by using Hugo's body to help with the research. I know that Hilda's results were not satisfactory but there was hope. In the end, Audrey ended up acting like her father... and the fact that we couldn't have another way out of the situation with Alex was disappointing.
Yea, I captured him figured it'd be the best outcome in a way.
I'll choose that. But with the mindset that I get to torture him.
oberlin a useful idiot but trustworthy... so i did what he requested.
I glitched into Hugos' cell to talk to him. He just gets up and has his old dialogue options again like nothings happened.
Hugo would burn the vault just to rule over the ashes.
I almost... almost feel sorry for him. This is a "path to hell is paved with good intentions" in that his main drive and motivation for most of this, is just wanting to save his wife and the Lost. He's become so obsessed with it, that all ends justify the means. Its not right, I don't agree with him... but I feel his desires to have his family and community "whole" has blinded him to the truth of their existance. So I don't completely think he's the type that wants to rule even if it means a world of Ash. If it hadn't been for the stuff with Alex, I might have considered him sympathetic. He was always a terrible person, just in the end a terrible person that thought he was doing right thing for the right reasons; Love and family.
And ashes make good fertilizer
So would his daughter.
In a way he kind of already did since he didn’t give the vault enough time to finish, killing most of the inhabitants. The same goes for when he created the lost.
@@SeleneDethly aye he was doing it for love and family, his version of love and family.
Who determined that killing Hugo, and Oberlin being murdered is the "good" ending?
Good in this context isn't considered the bad or true ending. It's more towards the middle in morals. The bad ending for something is usually going against what the game is telling you to do or is implying is the right path. A Good ending is usually still the right path but some sort of death or sacrifice happens so the outcome is that not everyone comes out alive. The True ending is where no one dies and everyone gets what they want or at least is okay with.
It really annoys me that each ending feels like they were created by 3 different teams that skipped 80% of the creative collaboration meetings. In one ending she wants her dad cooked, in another she thinks it's sad he was reduced to a lab rat. Make up your mind!
Human condition, to only love through one branch of superposistional collapse, at least for now.
I'm surprised (well, in hindsight with Bethesda's writing, not really) our Overseer didn't have any new dialogue options with the new update. Nothing about this new vault or new region, nothing about fellow survivors from another Vault (I feel like if any npc would want to know about them, it'd be her; she kept talking about wanting to rebuild Sutton, I expected something like Atlas had with Vault Dweller themed, but it's been like 4 years so I'm not holding my breath), just nothing; her last updated dialogue option is about the Brotherhood returning, which was like 3-4 years ago now, nothing about the Responders rebuilding at the Whitesprings (she technically joined the Responders, and iirc she has a much better opinion on them than the Brotherhood) and nothing about the Pitt or Atlantic City (those two I can at least understand why she wouldn't care about, those places and things aren't HERE, she has no personal stake in them).
Exactly what I thought, like why isn't the overseer involved, is she on vacation? Then again, Bethesda can't even get the atomic shop items to show in order. LoL!
This story seems very self-contained so it can be at any point without really questioning where it is in the game's story overall.
well done! previously i had just raced thru the quest a couple of times without thinking but it's very good to have seen a thorough playthrough from all angles!
God damnit it i just choose to kill him and i couldnt find a guide to the effects fo the endings.I wished i waited a few more minutes
So. No choice matters, just like Crater vs Foundation. Actually that mattered a little in terms of reaching max affinity with the two factions. These quests are an afterthought in an MMORPG.
Remember New Vegas, when your choice wiped out two of the three factions?
Oh, New Vegas...where you can kill Caesar and it changes nothing?
Bruh it's a multiplayer game, like wtf did you expect.
I sided with Hugo to see what would happen plus the vault is a lot more quiet now
same i’m upset i did it on my main but oh well
Hugo is the goat.
After all the bugs I had day one plus all the server hopping plus having to reinstall the whole game again b/c my pc bricked and somehow uninstalled the game on my pc. I decided to side w/ Hugo after everything was fixed and I don’t have regrets abt any of it😂
Did that the first time around very creepy.
I also chose the good ending.
Thanks for doing all the endings so we can see what we didn’t choose! I enjoyed it!
Didn't realize there was different endings. As long as I got to drop a body I considered the situation fixed. The ending I got is the only ending I needed. I'm satisfied with how things played out.
Gotta say I think Hugo was always evil given how he attempted to assassinate Alex before the bombs even dropped, I think he was just better at hiding his villainy.
Im wondering if the serum we help Hilda create to subdue the vault members going feral is the same stuff from the TV show, or an early prototype
Nah Todd said the show and games are separate.
@@stormer9952 when was this, everything I e seen said it was that the show was cannon to the games
@@stormer9952 quote I pull from an article
"We view what’s happening in the show as canon," Bethesda director Todd Howard told Vanity Fair. "That's what's great, when someone else looks at your work and then translates it in some fashion."
@@stormer9952no he he fucking didn’t lol
@@Buddhistsocialistthat is the most unflattering angle for a pfp 😂😂
If you side with Oberlin and go back and talk to him after the mission is over he does have more to say. He mentions that if the research fails that they will weaponize the lost and that Hugo may have had the right idea.
I wish they would include a secret Enclave ending where that reactor shutdown option actually works. Ride’s over, muties.
Man I needed this video yesterday
Excellent video, well done.
I don’t blame Hugo for doing what he did, he had good intentions to cure his wife (I think) but he had went insane doing it and was already lost, someone had to stop him, so we had to do it
25:19 Weird, she never said that for my True Ending. Had told her I was going to keep him alive and everything from the start.
There is Oberland Overseer dialogue after a bit. I glitched and got it isntantly. He says if they can not fix the lost, he seriously considers that the Lost can be a controled as vault protection using Hugo. I thought Oberland was better than that.
Thx for walkthrough!
Sided with Hugo.
He's like a German Mr Freeze.
Thought it would be more interesting to keep him around.
I wouldn't really call him a German Mr. Freeze. There's been several instances where he's doing this for selfish reasons rather than selflessness. Hugo is selfish, greedy, and wants things his way. You aren't saving anyone with siding with Hugo.
@@heroicxidiot Bro are you serious? Mr Freeze isn't acting "selflessly" when he's trying to save his wife. What kind of crack are you smoking?
Good to know I got the true ending felt the test and data was needed to be saved. Maybe able to fix it if this was a real situation.
This is great, I always wonder how things might of gone differently. It would be nice if there was some kind of 'replay mission' option in game. I decided to help Hugo in the end!
There is if you use a different character. That's how Rifle had to do it.
I went True Ending as it most aligned with my morals. Plus, figured per the dialogue it would avoid the most deaths. Was right.
Picked Hugo out of a morbid curiosity... Definitely shouldn't have
thank you so mutch!
Lost Oberland sounds like SpongeBob when he goes into Sandys house and runs out of water.
I captured him. Best ending there is. Hugo is driven my power -no pun intended - Audrey is driven by revenge and anger. Oberlin is, despite his army fixation, the most grounded and he deserves to be overseer.
Let me guess you don't like the enclave
Oberlin is Enclave. The only remnants of the US army IS the Enclave...
When I first talked to Oberlin, I expected him to be a Knight Shin type person who was untrustful, but after a few quests, I just said he is what Knight Shin should have been. Would have made him much more likeable.
So I got the True ending on my first try noice. I had a feeling that it was too. Oberlin felt like a better leader than half of the other side characters.
Riflegaming u can talk to him in the “true” ending u just have to photomode out of one the doors nearby that lead u into the void and just fly to his cell
Funny how the "good," ending is siding with the murderous creature of emotion, trying to tell me about manipulation. Sure MethesDEI... Oberlain is the clear choice, and I won't let him be a victim of her manipulation either. Thanks for this video.
They could use this to turn players to ghouls when it comes out
You can actually photomode in and talk to Stoltz
I captured Hugo. The other options would lead to more heartache or death. It would have been nice to see the weather machine correct the storm and have blue skies in the area. The final battle with Hugo was fun. He put his Vault 63 outfit back on after he was defeated at the weather machine room. I hope that in future updates, we can fix the weather back to normal, but most likely not since this is an online multi-player game. I wish we could have saved Alex. That definitely should have been an option.
I was a little bummed it didnt affect the strom after the questline
21:18 I wonder if she's actually still holding us responsible for what happened to Alex, not Oberlin.
So that's what the security cell was used for lol
funny that he sometime speaks german in the english version. And the zweihaender just means two-hander in german.
Ahh nice I got the true ending. I mean, I kinda figured that would be the true ending; siding neither with nor against Hugo, but taking the path of justice for People Comma We The, but now that it's done it's kinda neat to see the other outcomes.
Oberlin all the way... Audrey just talked down to me once to many times for me to take her seriously, however that being said the ending in the Mothman complex was disappointing and bad writing. I would have loved for a totally peaceful ending and maybe when Audrey got her GF back it would have changed how she wanted to proceed in regards to her father. Great video, well done and thank you!
whats a popa lockin youtube rifle gaming here
I had to take him out 5 times and on the 4th he was burned, 5th he got his vault suit back.
Unfortunately I got the missing vault 63 key card ending. So until that gets patched out I won't be able to finish the quest line. And I'm not even going to try it on my other character because I'm afraid I'll be stuck on that too and I don't want to waste the time at this point.
lol bethesda is a fraud!!! They don't even make 1 quest line without a bug...
how did u reset quest to do all the options ?
That God damn book...
THERES DIFFERENT ENDINGS?
😆💀
You can absolutely talk to Hugo when he's locked up. Glitch through the door using photo mode, and interact with him.
What does he say?
Wait, Hugo is locked up somewhere? Guess I'll re watch this video
13:40 Even in Bethesda games.... Colm Meaney is being O'Brian'd.
Oberlin want to possibly weaponizing the lost
how did you come up with this was what all ending was?
I let hugo do his thing. Doesn't really matter due to the online nature of the game the actual story world state's don't really matter as they gotta keep us all more or less in the same spot. Storm still exists.. lost still everywhere... same rewards no matter what you pick. Literally the only difference is what NPCs are standing in what places.
Don't get me wrong I like fo76 alot, but they are very limited in what they can actually do with stories. I just let hugo win because it was funny.
21:05 it’s cause we killed Alex, her lover that her father sent us to kill. Also the whole time we were running errands for her dad lol
I still killed him, the mind control powers is too great a risk for the world of Fallout. Just look what happen to the scorched. (Plus other examples.)
If you just capture him, he just has a chance to do it later.
He been too manipulative for too long. He needed to go, despite what chief says. And if the chief disagrees, then he isn’t trustworthy either.
I chose the last option, before seeing this video. Looks like I made the right choice.
Only if you can get past the f'n bugs on every damned quest
26:40 *pencil spawn*
This is where Bethesda fails. They just end a quest and have nothing related to it later.
asumingly its going to be expanded apon later when the ghoulification gets added to the game later in 2025
In the interview with MrMattyPlays Todd said there gonna be a "second part" of Skyline Valley, maybe we get more things related
In their single players it makes sense but in an mmo style it doesn’t. Say it had a effect on the world itself it would be server biased to only have you play with people who have done the same things.
@@Skillmaticgaming All mmo have the single player story and your decisions like in tera
They could be getting data from everyone doing the quest. They might know what choice everyone made, and will go with the choice that was picked most.
I chose to save Hugo and the after effects were entertaining
All the inaccessible doors in this vault leads me to think maybe they'll add more to this place and perhaps your choices will have slightly more impact on whatever ongoing intrigue the vault may offer. Seems half baked, like most of FO76.
I’m so glad I got the true ending I was worried the true is always better
I chose the "good" ending, I didn't expect oberland to be killed but no regrets, Hugo was a jerk.
Which gets me the best rewards
So I have to get really super high-level to beat him easily. Gotcha it’s gonna take awhile.
James Oberlin 😢😭😭😭😭😭
Brotherhood ending is siding with Overland. Technology, research, etc, brotherhood can just go in and use it themselves. Enclave ending would killing hugo, reason being theyd be easier to wipe out weakened without a real leader. Raider ending would be siding with hugo.
I uh felt bad that I accidentally slaughtered all the cultist because I forgot to equip the robe so I spared Hugo, also is it just me or does Hilda seem to be a bit more fuller than the other ghouls?
You'd have had to kill them all anyway - Hugo tricked you into killing his daughter's girlfriend. That's why I killed him - nobody plays me like that and gets away with it.
@@DeaconBlues117 what was the point of Hugo giving me the book then if murder was the only outcome? Also did you also eat him just to give that one final middle finger to him?
@@candycoatedchump The point was that Hugo wanted her dead, but thought he could avoid slaughtering the entire place (he's a manipulative son of a deathclaw, and he really doesn't understand the concept of loyalty). And no, equipping the Cannibal perk is where I _do_ draw the line.
I went to about 5 locations and it was finished …. So many areas not connected and empty .
whats with the german/english dialog? :D
I do like much more the True Ending but i found interesting also the bad ending despite is weak in term of outcome and contents. The good ending feels more delusional and poor written.
Why shoot the arms nd not the head?
I started to go with the Oberlin option, but when he started talking about Cassidy it sounded like another trick. So just Die.
so his clothes are...supposed to come off?
He was still clothed and standing in front of me like nothing happened after I finally beat him.
@@thunderheadgaming247same
I think Audrey's ending was bad too. She was nuts. I'm glad I chose Oberlin. Nevertheless, great job and thank you for the hard work putting this together.
Happy that I made true ending. Bad ending is indeed evil. Interesting quests, atmospheric story. Thanks for video, now I know the whole tale.
they're no so called "true" ending! Because there is nothing after the quest line... it mean that didn't affect the game so you can easily imagine a true ending whether or not choosing hugo!
@@donrumata1006 After the quest overseer is updated and from this you can understand what potential events could happen , so helping Oberlin is obviously correct if you don’t see it
Killing Herr Stolz ends any hope for the Lost, or Ghouls in general. I dont consider that a good ending at all.
I went with Hugo because I knew there would not be any permanent consequences
I actually felt tired of using violence. Captured him and called it a day.
Gonna side with Oberlain, mainly because I like him and also because Audrey is a bit annoying.
I, uh, “accidentally” sided with Hugo at the end how do I fix this
You don’t your stuck w/ your decision though it means nothing
@@pyr1412 oh good lmao
Bro F Audrey
I’m annoyed that James got taken out, I was starting to like him.
The game bugged for me when deciding for the ending. Hugo just beating the crap out of my character while in conversation, ended up with siding with Hugo accidentally.
Long quest line? Bruh I did it in 45 minutes.
Then you skipping all that dialog
It took me several days because the game crashed over and over. Plus the quest markers were broken. 😂 The normal Bugthesda
@lexiesheikh2393 there's a lot... and I mean a lot of new bugs and the crashing is to frequent when id crash maybe once in a blue moon before this update. Smh
@@lexiesheikh2393i just finished it but i had to redo the fucking boss fight at the end because the servers shut down for maintenance so i have 3 stimpaks and about 4 broken weapons with very little ammo. still got it done though
@@damianstewart3273 I've crashed at Whitespring for years now. It got worse, too, recently. 😩 If I FT inside, I'm almost always safe. But spawning outside is a crashing loop most days.
its a awesome update apart from nonstop crashing
Anyone else go back to Rifles first videos? ❤❤❤
Same content, a little more quirky, a little less confidence, and a waaaay worse mic 😆
Like most current bethesda quests, The endings don't matter much. Which is a shame.
Uhhh but this one specifically does
@@matthewflores4183 What does it change?
@@sleepysquiddy there are different outcomes that'll effect the vault dwellers duh. your choice effects them like how your choices effect you and others in the other games
@@matthewflores4183 only very little, the reward is the same. And afterwards there's not much difference .
@@taylors1369 but it's still better than no choice or outcome
i killed him, i could not forgivee hugo for destroying his daughters relationship with alex, then he started experimenting on his people.. nope he signed his death warrent in my opinion.
Too late mate... i make the wrong dessicion with my main character... now i will doit again XD (a new full game...)
Do we get a sequel of this update>?
im guessing the sequel will include how us as the player character can become a ghoul in 2025
I was so disappointed to find out that the rewards for all the endings are all the same. I feel like it used to be different and each choice had it's own unique reward.
Aubury isn't blaming us for doing what she wanted; she's blaming us for Alex's death.
I chose the last one for my main. 😊
Pog
I chose Oberlin, better ending for the involved NPCs, but I just wish choices/results mattered for Players🤷♀
