God is Skybound's Transformers run already a top tier continuity. Seeing Jazz getting his time to shine was something the character truly needed. And that beautiful image of Megatron being trapped in ice, cannot wait to see what his return will look like
They're living up to their namesake and potentially beyond

Jazz is my second favorite character behind Optimus, so needless to say I loved this.

My two favorite moments are easily Optimus transforming for the kid at the hospital and Skywarp's death. The moment with Optimus is such a perfect showing for his character and Skywarp's death just shows how insane the Decepticons are will ing to get. Also, Megatron is the snow somewhere, the Cobra Commander comic setting, hmmmmmmmmmm?
It is very suspicious! Looking forward to Cobra Commander #1 to see what happens there. The thing with Optimus transforming for the kid was very good - as was his conversation with Sparkplug in that scene. Lots of great character moments in this one.
When I saw jazzzzzz my heart skipped a beat cause I was expecting arcee or ironhide for back up. Jazz definitely needs for more screen time! Barely get to see him. Optimus with megatron’s arm! Don’t think that that has been done before, best comic so far.
Yeah, it was a surprise when I flipped the page and saw Jazz. But I was very pleasantly surprised and had a smile on my face for his admittedly brief appearance.
You know if the Decepticon are that ruthless and terrifying then Megatron must be worse. The beating Starscream gonna get going to be devastating
So true...also, imagine the wrath coming down on Prime when Megatron learns he's been using his arm and cannon!
@@Moonbase3 I think it would be cool to introduce Megatron as a more level headed/logical type of villain, to contrast the crazed psychopath Starscream. He might even form an alliance with the humans (Cobra) to achieve his goals, and Starscream will hate that.
Yeah, I'm very curious to see what his personality is going to be in this series. I agree, having him be more measured and in control than Starscream would be a nice contrast! And as for working with Cobra...we'll just have to see what happens!
@@LMVtron1well starscream and cobra commander had some similarities, being brash pyshcopaths and wanted to be leader of a faction.
I think Megatron will be more measured and calculated as opposed to Starscream's brash, relentless psychopathy. When Megs returns he'll either pull Starscream apart or, at the very least, put him in his place. If Starscream were still in charge there wouldn't be the opportunity for the government to cover up the Cybertronian's existence in Duke #1 because Starscream wouldn't be shy at all about wreaking havoc on the entire planet whereas Megatron, knowing the threat humans represent after being held captive and tortured by Cobra Commander, will be more covert in his plots. Also, CC#1 may dispel the idea that Cobra and the Decepticons will team up. After all the things inferred that Cobra Commander did to Megatron while in captivity, once Megs escapes I'm betting he decimates Cobra La and places CC at the very top of his hit list.
This issue was far the best I've seen. Love the small details and interactions with the humans characters. Im also digging the Carly / cliffjumper pair
I'm really liking the Cliff/Carly dynamic as well, and I'm hoping they keep that going!
Man this issue was amazing!
I loved everything, the art, dialogue, the return of Jazz, Optimus using his matrix to save a hospital, the interaction with ratchet, starscream ruthlessness not knowing the word "limit" and Optimus with meg's arm! And Megatron's reveal!
Honestly, if someone wants to write a G1 Optimus with truly evil Decepticons, these comics are where to look at
I like to think they're going to use the movie as inspiration for meg's storyline, bein frozen and stuff
Poor skywarp, and the other Decepticons, I truly believe at one point screamer and soundwave are going to clash because of screamer wanting to sacrifice soundwaves cassettes
Correct me if I'm wrong but the whole Cliffjumper clan thing is original to the comic's

You forgot to talk about how Starscream killed Cliffjumpers entire clan
I brought that sequence up as being a highlight in terms of character moments around 10:54 but yeah, in hindsight, I regret not going into more detail on the Cliffjumper thing as well as some of Carly's dialogue during that part. But I appreciate you saying something - I'll keep trying to improve!
Optimus welding Megatron's fusion cannon is a very rear sight in transformers, the first was at the end Devil's Due's first G.I.Joe crossover series and the second was a seen in the Ghostbusters' crossover by IDW so seeing in a main line transformers series is nice. Optimus seeing the matrix for Spike along with the Autobot going off the reclaim reminds me a lot of the Marvel run with Buster getting the matrix and Ratchet tricking Megatron to save the imprisoned Autobots. Seeing Elita-1 on the cover of Transformers 6 has me intrigued but like you said Skybound is will to pull the wool over our eyes and surprise us.
Good point - there are some parallels with some plot elements between this and the Marvel run, now that you mention it.
Also, good to know about the Devil's Due stuff - yet another reason I need to finish those! I started the first volume over the holidays, need to find time to get back into it.
I'm hopeful that Elita will make it into the series and the cover is not just a fake out - would love to see all the legacy female Autobots for that matter.
Man, another absolute win from Daniel Warren Johnson. This was probably the best issue yet. It was the perfect blend of DWJ's signature action scenes and character moments.
I mentioned in a previous part that I was curious how they would handle Sparkplug going forward after issue 3. Was he gonna stick to resenting the Autobots and forbid Spike from being with them or was Optimus saving Spike's life going to convince him the Autobots are the good guys? Clearly, we're going for the latter and I'm happy with that. I think having Sparkplug be in single-minded "All robots are bad" mode might have been a bit redundant seeing as it's looking like we already got Duke in the G.I. Joe stuff doing that.
And yeah you're right it does suck that Jazz has to go back into stasis right away. DWJ nailed him in both writing and art and I hope he doesn't stay deactivated for long.
Right now I'm curious to see if Skywarp is dead or alive but in extreme agony. I could see it going either way. Daniel's made it clear with Bumblebee's death he's not afraid to kill off his cast but at the same time, it'd be a total waste to not have Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker all together.
Oh, and another hint that Megatron's fate might be tied with Cobra? The variant "Spoiler" cover showing his deactivated body is drawn by the Artist of the Cobra Commander series much like how Issue 2's spoiler cover was drawn by Duke's artist.

I totally agree about the approach with Sparkplug - I feel like this is the right direction to go with it, and I'm actually glad they didn't draw the militia stuff out for too long - although, who knows, that could still come up later which might make for some interesting moments now that Sparkplug hasn seemingly had a change of heart.
And I'm right there with you regarding Skywarp. I could really see it going either way. Hoping he's still alive, personally...but we'll just have to see.
As always solid work bud 👍 this is the first time since the 90s where I’ve seen Optimus wear the fusion cannon. The last time being after his resurrection at the end of the Marvel G2 story arc, only that was a hybrid between the fusion cannon and his own ion blaster. Cliffjumper flipping off the Decepticons and Jazz being a total boss was definitely the cherry on top 👍

Haha, right!? It's pretty intense so far, that's for sure. I hadn't really thought about what it would be like with even bigger stakes...now I'm imagining how they would handle something like Unicron and it would probably be epic!
@@Moonbase3 yeah and seeing as how this comic is taking very much from G1 I have no doubt for Galvatron they’ll have it be him being a reformatted version of Megatron courtesy of Unicron. Though it does make me wonder who Cyclonus and Scourge will be since Skywarp is dead like maybe here Cyclonus will be a reformatted version of bombshell? For Scourge I wonder if they’ll have him be a reformatted version of another Decepticon that isn’t Thundercracker?
That's an interesting thought...yeah, I wonder how they would handle all that if/when they get to that story. I think there is a chance that Skywarp is still alive, but I'll admit that it's not looking good for him.
@@Moonbase3and if the cover of issue 7 isn’t just baiting us and Elita-One really is on Earth here then that would mean in this universe she was able to make it onto the Ark in this universe. With that it mind it makes me wonder who’s leading the Autobots still on Cybertron. I think it could either be Ultra Magnus or Sky-Lynx.
That could be a possibility! I was wondering if Arcee and Elita were on the Ark or if they're going to arrive from off-world. I'm really curious to see what the state of the non-Earth Autobot faction is...

Great video as always. I think the boombox Soundwave holds merit for if you look at Soundwave's left leg there is what looks to be a speaker. So maybe they redesigned him.

Glad to see Jazz in action for a bit. I would like to see Cliffjumper flipping the bird after learning what the gesture means. Same with handshaking Carly's hand. I don't get why they have Ratchet say something hypocritical (like, what?), that humans are not worth it because they're destructive when the argument can easily be used against them. That's completely invalid. I get that he wants to prioritize their own problems over others.
It didn't bother me, but I see what you're saying with the gestures. That's a fair point and I understand where you're coming from there. And Ratchet was definitely being a hypocrite, but I feel like Optimus pushes back against that and points it out to him and counters with: "Just like us." They're really setting up Optimus to be a champion of humanity. His conversation with Sparkplug about humans being small but mighty shows that he has a lot of respect for humans, whereas it seems like it's been more of a process for Cliffjumper and Ratchet to come around to the idea (though the former seems to have gotten there quicker than the latter).
I liked the reference to DWJ previous work Beta Ray Bill with the “My boy…” “My Beatitude Boy” line
That's awesome! I still need to read his Beta Ray Bill book, but I'm not surprised as DWJ seems to be loading this series up with plenty of references to his other comics.
Optimus Prime now using Megatron’s gun arm is METAL as hell and I love it!
There's a really funny detail on page 12. When the Decepticons retreat you can see Cliffjumper flipping the bird🤣

That gun Cobra Commander has in the covers COULD be Megatron in gun mode since it lacks the scope typically made from his fusion cannon, which he doesn't have at the moment.
Plus Optimus was somehow able to fully transform despite missing an arm so Megs could too.

I want to know if they are going to address mass-shifting at all or just give Megatron a completely different alt mode. I'm conflicted as I hate the concept of mass-shifting altogether but Megatron's gun mode is an iconic G1 hallmark.
Skybound has already knocked this series out of the park, and while i could go over everything i loved, i'm just gonna say, how did no one think Optimus with Megatrons arm cannon would go so hard until now?!
Looking forward to seeing what they do with that cannon arm! I'm expecting things to get wild...

This book is quickly becoming my favorite transformers storyline ever. Its got a lot to live up to but so far I have nothing but positive things to say…. Aside from the fact that hasbro keeps insisting the stupid ass GI Joes belong in the same universe but i digress

I've seen that others feel that way, too - at least each title seems fairly self-contained so far for those that don't want to check out the Void Rivals/Joe side of the continuity. I'm here for all of it, personally!
Definitely not a fan of GI Joe and the whole hasbro universe thing from IDW, but I’ll reserve my right to judge the EU too harshly until i’ve seen some more from it. Im enjoying the void rivals side of things and it’ll be interesting to see where it goes. I’ve also yet check out Cobra Commander (i dont even know if any of the issues are out yet) but it does seem intriguing from the teaser pages Ive seen

I absolutely love they introduce Cobra Commander in his "Old Snake" costume from the G1 cartoon. I always thought this was the best Easter egg from back then.

So let’s get the obvious out of the way: when I realized that I was right and Wheeljack on the cover was another misdirect frankly my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined. However I quickly got over my whininess when Jazz appeared! Fantastic surprise and [as is the standard for this series] the characterization is immaculate. Shame we didn’t get much of him, but given the cover of #7 (yes I know I never learn) I think this isn’t the last we’ll see of the coolest Autobot.
As you said, the heroism of the Autobots and evil of the Decepticons hasn’t been demonstrated this well in a long time. The Decepticons are all demons (which is perfect), and no life is too small for Optimus Prime to save. I love that so much. I’ve grown so sick of action hero/probable war criminal Optimus Prime, I want to see the Prime who’s strong enough to be gentle again. The Megatron arm is neat but I won’t lie I hope it’s a temporary measure.
Speaking of the Emperor of Destruction, I like how they took inspiration from the ‘07 flick and put him on ice [literally]. I hope the Cobra Commander theory is accurate because that would be so sick.
In any case, incredible work as always and here’s to hoping Wheeljack will actually feature in the book eventually and not die immediately (I can dream).

I'm really liking the take on the good guys/bad guys here. Like I said in another reply, I like the nuanced takes as well, but this is like getting the cartoon versions of these characters with updated storytelling. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the fusion cannon thing, but yeah, it's gotta just be temporary - Megatron's gonna be pissed if he re-enters the picture and Optimus still has it on...
I feel like Ratchet‘s hesitancy to help the humans reminds me a lot of the conversation he has with Optimus in the 2007 movie but also his hesitancy to let the humans into the fold in Prime.
I can see the Prime comparison, but it's been so long since I've seen the 07 movie that I've forgotten the conversation you're referring to...
I thought that Starscream care for Thundercracker and skyward at least also I thought starscream , thundercracker, Skyward are brothers in 2005 continuity but I’m guessing they are not brothers in this continuity
They could be brothers in this continuity, but if they are, it hasn't been revealed yet. That would make the events of this issue even more cruel!

It is interesting noting differences. Like Carly and Cliff being in place of Spike and Bee. Carly had a red car in the cartoon.
I forgot about the red car in the cartoon! But yeah, it's cool that it draws on that classic dynamic of Bumblebee and Spike, but ends up being unique. Cliff and Carly are shaping up to be an awesome team.
Jazz was the highlight of the book for me definitely can’t wait to see more of him! Bummer he is deactivated once again but the cover of issue 7 looks great and it is nice to see Elita-1! 😁
Also I have a theory that Spike might die since he is absent on the cover of issue 7 while Carly is there. To back this up there is the cover for issue 6 which shows Spark Plug with his head down and the description of the issue says “ONE WILL STAND, ONE WILL FALL. And someone isn’t going to survive.” They couldn’t possibly kill off Spike this early- could they..?
It would be a surprising choice! It crossed my mind too when I saw the cover for #7, but he might just be in a coma for a while...it feels too soon to kill the character off, but I definitely wasn't expecting him to get shot and wind up in a coma by issue 4 either, so who knows!
Optimus risking his life just to restore a hospital power and rejecting to use megatron arm is just optimus and i miss it

This new issue made my day!! IMO this new series is easily the best piece of TF fiction we've gotten since the original IDW continuity, which wrapped up more than 5 years ago!! Time flies by

Great issue and great coverage of it! Sorry I haven’t been able to catch some of your more recent vids as i have had a shortage of time and needed to focus on other things in life but hope i can catch up. I’ve grown to really like this continuity in our early doors viewing of it, despite me being initially a bit apprehensive of it. The “Back to basics” feel mixed with the modern, sorta contemporary setting has made me feel very comfy in these issues and yet, still super tense as, and while unlikely. I sorta have the fear / feeling that Spike may actually die, which, I know may be too far and not as likely, but I just got that gut feeling from what’s going on and such. But we’ll wait and see

@@Moonbase3 yeah, some stuff on issue 7 also has me worried on Spike’s future, again, it’s probably true that he may be out of commission for a bit but seeing as this series doesn’t seem shy killing characters, then anything goes. I also love how the Transformers themselves are written, despite me loving the emotionally complex IDW takes on Optimus and Starscream, I love Skybound’s more classic and “black and white” I suppose, versions, not a complaint at all, I love this incredibly selfless and pure sparked OP and this super Manical and genuinely Evil and Scary Starscream. Honestly despite liking a more sympathetic Starscream well enough, I do just love a pure evil, bastard style of Screamer, can’t wait to see how this character goes on in the Energon Universe
I totally agree. While I like the more nuanced takes from IDW, I also am really enjoying these more clear-cut takes as well. There's room for both, in my opinion. :)

These characters are iconic for a reason and similar to superheroes, sometimes you do just want to feel comfy and familiar with a character like Optimus Prime, and this Optimus has so much of that classic G1 cartoon wholesomeness. I guess I look at The Skybound comics like this, the IDW Comics were a modernisation and expansion of the original Marvel Comics, where Skybound / Energon Universe can be the modernisation/ Expansion of the G1 cartoon, which was a concern initially as I vastly prefer the Creation Myth, more expanded pathos to the Transformers as a species past “Robots made in a factory by those side villains / stop gap in the movie” but if they can have a very fun and interesting take with that, I’ll give it a chance and I’ve been really enjoying the series so far
Yeah, that's a great way to look at it! They're really keeping the spirit of the cartoon alive, but updating the presentation in some satisfying ways to make it feel fresh and modern.
Oh damn jazz finally got a spotlight after a decade of him not doing anything 🤔 does that mean his finally gonna start to appear more? 🤔

So far I’ve been enjoying how the issues subvert expectations with the covers, but I can totally see why some people might be disappointed when it does that. I thought it made Jazz a really nice surprise for this issue, I definitely didn’t see that coming.
Also had the same thought about this setting up Cobra Commander. That theory about him teaming up with Megaton is what let me to your channel, honestly I’ll be shocked if you were wrong! But I’m sure we’re in for plenty of surprises like you said
That's a really good point - I did not see the Jazz reveal coming, and it was very satisfying, so there are definitely some perks to handing the covers the way Skybound has. For example, the spoiler cover leaked a little before the release date and that definitely took some of the surprise out of that final page.
Right or wrong about the CC/Megatron thing, I'm pumped for the first issue of CC! Can't wait to see what happens there!

While I know Skywarp was torn to shreds, there’s that one panel where Starscream is saying “Haha! Victory!” where it looks like he’s dragging a destroyed Reflector (Refraktor? I don’t know their canonical name). It could be possible that he is um… “recycling” multiple decepticons that were in stasis to power the Ark
Edit: Also, while I’m not absolutely certain of this, Cliffjumper’s vehicle mode looks closer to his War for Cybertron than his original Gen 1 vehicle. Though with some notable differences, such as the lights
Good call on the more recent Cliffjumper figure being the reference point for his vehicle mode! I can see some similarities there.
As for Reflector/Refraktor, he's gone by both names, but Reflector is his legacy name. I'm assuming it was changed to Refraktor for trademark reasons. But yeah, I wonder if any other offline Decepticons were used as materials to revive others. I assumed Starscream was reviving Reflector, but I guess we'll have to see!
@@Moonbase3I think he’s dragging Reflector to be repaired as in the "I am the Decepticon Leader!" Panel, it shows Reflector being pulled together like Starscream, Thundercracker and Reflector were when Jetfire first started up the Arc.

Wheeljack and Arcee were promised multiple issues ago and it would be nice if they actually delivered, and Elita would be a good bonus for the wait.
Indeed, ever since war for cybertron trilogy, elita-1 is becoming one of the main characters which never happened in g1. The 2nd being earthspark.
Yeah, I was thinking they were really pressed for time if Johnson was just doing one arc, but the solicit to #7 makes it seem like he's going to be writing the title for a bit longer than that, if not always on art, so I think that gives him more time to gradually introduce those characters. And I'm pretty happy about seeing Elita - I'm all for bringing in all the G1 female Autobots and giving them a more prominent part than they've had in the past.

It certainly seems that way! Whether or not the cover is just a fake out remains to be seen.
It’s kinda sad that we don’t get much starscream that have depressing or honorable character we only see that in Armada, Exudos and Exiles Novels, and Idw

One thing I take issue with is how they did skywarp, like they were already in a ship full of comatose cybertronians. Heck it IS made of cybertronian alloy, so why kill one of your already active guys when a dead guy is right there
I'm wondering if it's because Skywarp being alive made it possible. Like maybe it wouldn't work with deactivated Decepticons. I dunno, guess we'll have to see if that's ever explained!

The fact that how did ratchet manage to snatch megatron arm cannon is it from the ark? Like before impact megatron manage to fall out of the ark and got his arm cut off
Yeah, we know from issue 2 that Megatron was on the Ark and it looked like he was about to finish off Optimus - so something happened that tore off his arm and ejected him from the ship. I'm guessing that's why the arm was still on board, and Ratchet must have picked it up when he was loading up Prime's trailer with wounded Autobots during issue 1.
@Moonbase3 I think I know how megatron lost his arm cannon during the scene in issue 2 where optimus tells spike about the ark you can see megatron chocking optimus and on optimus's right hand you can see him welding an energon axe he must had slice through megatrons arm cannon hand and kicks him off the ark and try to take control of the ark to find a safe spot to land however it crashed to a mountain instead and all got knocked out during impact

I think he'll be okay. Definitely seemed more like a powering down temporarily rather than dying to me. Plus, he's on the cover to issue 7, so hang in there!
Something I mean to say in my initial comment was I think the series is in need of some “left-brain” storytelling. We’ve had a lot of great characterization and moments, but I want some good background on the world and what’s brought the Transformers to Earth outside of the usual. I want some history, especially if Skybound wants to turn this into a universe.
If they didn’t pitch it as such I’d be less concerned, but if we’re doing the “Energon Universe” thing then let’s do it full throttle.
I've been thinking about this as well. There have been multiple points when I've thought about putting some similar thoughts into the videos, but I've decided to give them an arc or two to get going. I would definitely like to see more worldbuilding and deep lore at some point, though. I think that could be a lot of fun combined with all the flashy action and impactful characters moments that we've seen so far.
So fonally got around to reading it, yeah, it was awesome. I havent been this hyped to keep reading a Transformers comic since All Hail Megatron. I was sad to hear the artist will be changing in a few issues but I still have high hopes and its only fsir to give the artist s chance. That being said it may be hard, the art for these has been extremely distinct and to me is almost intrinsic to the identity of this series thus far.
Yeah, I feel the same way about Johnson's art. That being said, I expected him to exit the series altogether after issue 6, so I'm happy to hear he's at least staying on for writing. And Jorge Corona's art looks great so far - the cover for #7 has me feeling optimistic! It won't be the same, of course, but hopefully it'll be something that's awesome in its own right.
The only thing that I personally didn’t like (nothing wrong with the amazing writting) is they killed off my favorite Autobot Bumblebee😢. He is my Number One Best Autobot Bro/ Wingman, but in the bright side, Cliffjumper survived instead of being killed of for another time. Though I loved how they brought back Jazz, he is second to Bumblebee for me
Yeah, it was a pretty shocking move! You never know, though, we might see him make a return someday.
Just waiting to see if they give Cliff Jumper the usual treatment he had been getting.

Using parts from Skywarp to repair teletran-1 creates some interesting questions/issues. How does it fabricate the materials to repair the wounded transformers? Could they rip the arms off a few cybertronians, fix the machine, then have it repair their arms? What happened to Optimus' own severed arm?
All good questions! I wonder - if Skywarp is still alive - if they could just use Teletraan One to repair him, or if the computer uses the raw materials on the subject it's repairing.
Seems like Prime might have left his own arm behind at the fight with Skywarp. Might be useful to go pick that thing up with the way things are headed!
Ok i have my doubt, but Optimus with Megs arm just tops all red flags i have for this . Like this imagine of them just do this, it better pay off.
I'm hopeful that there's some cool stuff that's going to come out of the decision!
the situation is just begging for a dramatic friendly fire incident during a battle caused by either prime just not having the skills to use it since he normally has his ion blaster or somehow Megatron remotes it to shoot the bots in the back

Excellent Review. These Transformers/GI Joe Comics are by far the best on the market. The one thing I didn't get was we see Megatron's Remains encased in ice. How did Ratchet get his right arm? The ARC looks like it crashed in a completely different environment

As for Megatron's arm, in issue 2, we see a flashback of Megatron attacking Optimus aboard the Ark. It seems likely that at some point, Megatron's arm was removed and remained onboard while he was ejected from the ship. Another poster pointed out that Optimus has his axe arm in that same panel, so that is a good theory for how Megs lost the arm. Ratchet must have picked up the arm when he was gathering fallen Autobots in Prime's trailer during the first issue. If you look at the page where Ratchet kicks Starscream in issue #1, at the bottom of the page, as Skywarp is firing towards the Autobots, you can see one end of Megatron's fusion cannon on the ground (miscolored red), so I think that confirms that the arm was still on board the ship.

Total nitpick but we do see that Ratchet was working on Wheeljack specifically in a panel before choosing to bring Jazz online, Ratchet briefly laments that he'll have to wait.
I know WHY DWJ did it (for the dramatic effect of it and to hammer home these aren't the "not that bad" guys many 'Cons became in IDW) but I can't help but wonder why Starscream and Soundwave didn't just use components from the other offline Decepticons? Skywarp, although battered, was already online and fighting for them so seems like a tactically unsound move. Given the teaser for issue 5 shows Thundercracker being brought online and IMMEDIATELY being distraught by what has become of Skywarp, I think we might be getting set up for another exploration of the "doubting" Decepticon ala Budiansky's original bio for him.
Another incredible issue and great work covering it as always, I particularly liked Optimus and Ratchet's heart to heart about what their actual options are.
I'm right there with you with being a little confused on Skywarp. Not sure if it'll be explained further or not, but I'm wondering if he required too extensive of repairs that they considered him to be dead weight.
Hopefully this Megatron his Deviations counterpart's arms from Transformers Deviations universe comic that is alternate Timeline of The Transformers The Movie 1986 where Optimus Prime killed Megatron and Optimus Prime never died in The Transformers The Movie alternate timeline.
So im rewatching this and im starting to see some references to the 2007 movie. The convo between ratchet and prime reminds me of the debate between Jazz and prime after bee is captured by s7.

Then after reading issue #5 the setting of the dam is similar to the Hoover dam in the 2007 film. You could also argue the G1 cartoon did the same thing but I argue that I am seeing the skybound continuity is pulling from all continuities before it.
Yeah, I mention the Sherman Dam thing from the G1 cartoon in the video for issue #5, but I forgot about those parts in the 2007 film. I agree, I think it's drawing from a lot of past incarnations. It sounds like I might need to think about rewatching the Bay films to catch some of that stuff.
It'd be almost impressive how much of a bastard Starscream is if I wasn't anxiously waiting for the karma hammer to violently, brutally drop on his smug, arrogant head.
He definitely deserved more than getting his face run over by Prime...I'm sure it'll all catch up with him at some point.

This is a brand new continuity that started in 2023, published by Image/Skybound. You should be able to find digital copies on Comixology/Kindle or Google Books, and you can probably get physical copies at your local comic store or online stores like MyComicShop and Midtown Comics. Hope that helps!

As for the toys, I do collect, but I've slowed down some, especially with CHUG/mainline releases. As for favorites, I really like Thrilling 30 Springer/Sandstorm and Siege Spinister from mainline, and Masterpiece Prowl/Bluestreak from the MP line. How about you? Any faves?

@@Moonbase3 You can find him reasonably cheap (comparatively anyways) these days but he kind of feels lacking unless you buy the toyhax decals for him. It isn't the same without a picture of Optimus burning down a forest on the trailer.
Yeah, he does look a little plain compared to his G2 counterpart. I really liked some of those designs!

one IS better than the other. optimus would never consider ANY loss to be acceptable. IDW was terrible for many reasons, not the least of which was their depiction of optimus
I'm open to both as I think there's good storytelling potential with both versions.
