I had a Mk 1 1600 GT, it was brilliant and would start without choke in summer and winter, just requiring an extra pedal press in winter. Really reliable and dead easy to service. I would love to buy it again if I could.
Owned four MKll Capris, two base models, two Ghia models with the 2.8 v6 and they were absolutely amazing cars to drive! Great to work on and know these cars inside and out! There can never ever be a true successor to this car and as the last couple of Engineers and developers of the MK lll said, it's had its day and time and should be left that way...Just keep the originals alive and well, bring a few wrecked/abandoned and salvageable special edition examples back for those of us that truly appreciate these amazing cars to enjoy! Who else got a bit choked up seeing those burned out, vandalized, and badly wrecked 280's.....
Sorry Mk 1 and III , a late 70s kid, I loved the MkII look. My favourite , especially with an X Pack body. Yes like all I modified like a MkIII with the headlights, but then I reverted back. 2.8i's became common.
Thank you for uploading the complete episode of this, I've been waiting a long time to watch this. As I've only ever seen a 10 minute clip of it years ago. I found it very interesting especially finding out about the mysterious bodyshell on the production line after the last 280 came off the line.
Brilliant that , I was lucky enough to have owned all MK1 MK2 MK3 Capris in the 80,s , all being the fabulous 3 litre cars over 10 of them , and the last one being a black 2.8 injection never owned a Brooklands , brought back good memories GREAT CARS .
I had a white my 2my mate had the black one we both had CB’s back the my handle was white knight his was black knight both had full body kits loved them
Mk3 for me always loved them but never owned one I had the mk5 cortina’s shame really because in the 1990s my dad bought loads of capris in the auctions and resold to the lads down the pubs for £550 very cheap I really missed out there. I’m no way today buying one starting at 10k sod that I will make do with my corgi model on my shelf instead lol 😂.
If I don't know why they was problem for stealing the 280 Brooklyn's kiss cause it was a 2 out of Britain as a basic V basically with a different colour paintwork and the engine was the same as the 2 late normal so I don't know whether it was just stealing them for the engines in that lot for cause I wouldn't have exactly what I ate And I'm trying to get one of my old ones back anyway
stealing them for the full raven leather interir bridge off weir leather like aston matins bentleys etc use too spoilers and most prized 15inch rs 7 spokes rare seeing bigger than 13 inch wheels low profiles had been fad cpl years at time but wheels got 500 to 1000 stolen interior whole 1500 engines boxs lsd left n shells

South Africa came out with a capri that was a beast, the capri Parana with a factory V8 302, the car was a real Beast
I love the mk3 3.0S carb with tartan seats and net headrests, in red. I would remortgage to get a pristine one !!!

Thanks very much for the comment. Glad you enjoyed it. The original Capri the Legend is also up there which features the “alleged” last ever Capri.
Have sent this to Rod and Geoff from SVE as well as Steve Saxty :)
Thank you very much Mister P.

No such Capri as a, 'Brooklands.' That's the paint colour, the last Capri was designated, 'Capri 280.'
