It just doesn't get any better than this, I just love everything about this classic show damn good editing, musics, script cheerfulness, idiotism etc. The expression, depth and meaning to how well this show used to be composed was very good.
When referencing the show I feel the need to ask, "You know, Top Gear?" Like it wasn't for years a global phenomenon which was embraced and enthusiastically anticipated by more people than any other show on earth. Beyonce who?
James being sad about the rover.... That hit me hard. I remember the way the world came together, just a little bit, to both celebrate, and mourn, the American lunar odyssey. It really did speak to something higher in so many of us.
God, that 05-09 generation of Mustang was gorgeous. I used to have a white V6 one. The fit and finish was a little rough, but I loved it to bits. I'll buy another one someday.
23:44 This always annoyed me that they used a wheel dyno when every manufacturer rates their cars at the flywheel. Assuming the standard 15% drivetrain loss, 447 at the wheels is 514 at the flywheel.
I know those (mobile dyno) guys. As with almost all dynos in the UK the results are Power at the fly/ crank. You very rarely see wheel horse power in the UK, particularly on mobile dynos. In part because it disappoints people who think of their power in the advertised (Flywheel/ Crank ) horse power. They also usually read around 2-5% low.
@@realMaverickBuckley That's interesting because I have personally watched bone stock GT500s like this one do 440-450hp at the wheels uncorrected. I almost bought one used and had it run, the printout I was handed did 448whp. Either your friends' dyno wasn't working that day, he didn't correct the numbers before telling Richard, or they wanted to make a joke. These GT500s and the Terminator Cobras were underrated from the factory for insurance purposes, they were 510-520hp at the crank. I didn't buy the car because it smelled like his dog.
44:41 Never say never... Constellation (The cancelled moon program James is talking about), simply became Artemis, and it's likely they will land astronauts (with an updated version of that new moon buggy) back on the moon by the end of the 2020s.

Even though I like the Hamster it really puzzles me when people talk about the Mustang. I really don't know what they want. They say that it doesn't remind them of the old car but then complain about the handling and suspension and say it feels like the old car. It's the truest version of the Ponycar. It's cheap and fun. It's fun in a straight line and will handle if you know how to drive one. People mistake grip and handling. Mustangs are extremely predictable. You put a bunch of German European suspension parts on it like independent suspension and adjustable suspension and leather and wood and you have defeated the purpose of the Ponycar. If you want the Muscle car, buy a 03/04 Cobra. It's still a Mustang but more. That is another wonderful thing about the Mustang. It can be anything and go anywhere and fit in. In a carpark full of exotics and luxury cars, a Convertible Mustang fits right in. That's why it's still here and all of the others thar tried to be like it aren't.

Hammond doesn't know the difference between gross HP and Net. That Mustang was tested by the SAE with just the engine in 1968, no accessories or exhaust. Now he's putting it on a dyno and expecting the same.
