  • This morning I woke up to messages from my neighbors saying that I had squatters move onto my property the night before.
This video is my documentation of what happened at the scene.

You are very lucky she moved that truck and trailer. Oregon is one of the states that allows squatters to make adverse possession claim of vacant property, even if the owner is on freaking vacation! You might want to invest in fencing around your property or even sell it if the homeless are spreading their encampment in your property's area. I just don't understand why our federal government gives trillions of dollars to foreign countries and yet allows our own people to live in such squalor. It's heartbreaking.

Adverse possession is a federal property proclamation, that has federal stipulations, a property must be abandoned for two years, the only thing states can regulate is the price for the proper paperwork. States' like Oregon can't follow the rules anyway.

I had to get a person in their car off of my property before . He was living in his car . He had pulled into my driveway and parked on the grass along my driveway . I came and first checked to find out what he was doing here . He was an old Veteran who was tired and had not only a non-emergency medical problem or health issues , but also a bad tire and no money to replace the bad tire . So I gave him a nice almost new tire on a rim that fit his car that is the spare for my trailer . My neighbor and I changed the front wheel on his car with my almost brand new spare wheel from my trailer which is an actual car tire already mounted on the proper rim that is a perfect match for his car . He was an old Veteran , living in his car and has health issues . I gave this Veteran my tire & rim , changed it for him with the help of my neighbor . Someone else must have called the Police as the Police showed up as we were changing his wheel . No problem and he went on his way . Both my neighbor and I are older Veteran's . So we just did what we could do to help him . He went on his way thanking us . The Police didn't bother him or my neighbor and I . The Police Officer did ask me at first if I wanted to press charges and have him towed off my property and I said No . I gave him a nice almost brand new tire on the proper rim for his car as he was a Veteran older than I . No problem and no big deal !!

Having lived out of my vehicle for 3 - 4 years, one needs to come to the reality that all those precious memories & mementos are of people who didn't bother to care for you when you were down & out & needed help. All the precious cargo of furniture & antiques from your relatives - let them go via sale. Don't waste precious funds of keeping things you don't need.
Get rid of the excess baggage - real & emotional.
2 pair of jeans, a couple of T shirts, 5 pair of underwear - essentially a weekend bag.
Trust me, you'll feel so much better.

I believe the only way matters like this will be handled is when the people start parking on state leaders’ properties. Some good people fall on hard times and they need help but drug addicts made their choices, either mandatory self commitment to a drug rehab for no less than six months or jail time. Law abiding citizens shouldn’t have to be in danger and their property invaded. Every time you turn around, law abiding citizens are left holding the bag for all of this.

Actually nothing!. I am an immigrant from a very poor country and I don see a problem with people who like the other poster said, who fell on hard times.
      What goes around comes around.
Help them regardless if they are natural born Americans or not.
Now, the people who decided to have “fun” and try consume drugs, they make their decisions. Nobody put a gun to their head and say “take this” you have to”!!!
And even if you did go get help, there are programs for this. Give it an honest try!
Again if you just fell on hard times and are trying to get back on your feet I don’t mind trying to help regardless if you are American or whatever.
For those people get what ever job, work that comes your way or better yet look for one!
Don’t let people me like steal those jobs who is willing to do them, lol.

@@jbrown4137 I believe we are paying a boatload of taxes and they are being misappropriated . Some things our tax dollars go to are necessary but there is a gross waste of a huge amount of “our” tax dollars. They seem to find enough of our tax money for what they want but not always for what is needed so you are right about one thing, I don’t believe we should keep getting taxed to death so they can pick our pockets clean. Accountability is needed in so many areas from the oversight of our tax dollars to self responsibility about choices of doing drugs in the first place. They are finding ways to house them in hotels at taxpayer and business owners’ expense. It’s about time we the people shouldn’t have to keep paying for other people’s’ bad choices. We were raised by parents that led by example on how to help others by doing what we were able to for them. My parents helped people without making a show about it, many of the ones that they helped had no idea who helped them. There is a big difference in helping others by doing what you are able to instead of being forced to keep paying for so much that you struggle to pay your own bills while the fat cats in Washington dip into the tax revenue like it’s their personal piggy bank.

I think most states have easement laws that allow someone to stop on the side of the road, but I have no idea if there are time limits or what the restrictions are. I'm not so sure you can tell them to move immediately, if they have a valid reason to be parked there, which she obviously did not. You're lucky it wasn't someone more stubborn, they may have said truck was broken and pushed the issue, cops may have to wait 24 hours or something before it can be towed. I was told by a Texas cop once there wasn't anything I could do about daughters ex-boyfriend parked out front, and if I did anything I would be the one charged, since he was just sitting in his truck.

How do you know that the easement is 15' at that location? Is it a public roadway? Is it an utility easement? Is there a parking easement? Is there a camping easement? I’m on facts not emotion. And I’ll believe you if you can tell me the address as well and easement documentation.

@@Aaron71304 First of all, I don’t know the address and you would need to contact the person who made the video. Secondly that’s a public street with a utility easement on the left side of video and the easement would apply to both sides of the street. Third of all there’s a stop sign that would indicate a public road. I have never purchased property that didn’t have some kind of easement, but I don’t believe anyone could convince you of that.

@@Aaron71304 I’m not positive, because it can vary by jurisdiction. Most locations allow up to 30 days to remove vehicles along the roadway. The man in this video thinks he owns the land to the street, which he doesn’t. In most areas the sidewalk is installed at the edge of the easement and that’s where the homeowner rights begin. Think about it like this, let’s say your vehicle stopped working and you pulled off the road into the grassy area. Do you think that homeowner could force you to move the vehicle. The answer is no.

With all of the people out of jobs. Being homeless. A couple of months ago. I decided to see what jobs were available. Around my own small farming town of just over 2,000 people. A lot of jobs. Last week. I needed an oil change in my truck. I put a request for an oil change at our main dealership. No problem. Until the day before. They couldn't do the oil change. The person highered quit. Now I have to do my own oil change. A factory to my south. Is or was building on and needed 100 new workers. Interesting. How are they going to get 100 new workers when people refuse to work. For the homeless. Thanks not to myself. Others. I have been put there endless of times. Within a week or two. I was back in a home and working again. Like my dad said. No matter what. You were always working. You always had a job. Broken back is why I don't work now. Yet. When I did. When I had a job. I always had another lined up. People today fill out job applications. I never did. I would show up in person. If they said. Fill out a job application. I just left. They needed no one. After I was hired. Then I filled one out. That's how I learned everything. All I wanted to do was work. No foreman job. Yet. My coworkers thought I was wanting the job. They would run me off so they could have the job. They never asked me. I loved to work. Not babysit. If you're homeless. Go get a job. Don't be picky. Clean yourself up. Go find someone that will hire you. Do the job the way they want it done. Not your way. Show up every day. Then. Work yourself into some kind of a trade. Some companies will pay for you to go to a trade college. All you have to do is show up and pass. Again. I was forced to do this endless times. Not because of my own actions. Because of others. It works. Even day labor leads to full-time employment. Somewhere. I have been there and did that. Oh. No drugs and drinking. Stay away from those.

Had to have utilities / well / septic or city) gravel or road drive .And the size of a house ( where it could be taxed). They fazed that out though. The other like my realtor neighbor built a place like the city bus shed for the RV. Someone lives there but quietly at night.
