It's interesting to see Brian's company gradually making its way into every facet of strongman. All of a sudden in the last couple years, every single athlete seems to have at least one or two pieces of evolution athletics gear. Good job Brain; he's set for life. I guess the gear must work or something
His kit is top quality. Between the elbow and knee sleeves with the buckles to give an insane amount of support and pop, the grippy neoprene shorts that are like no others, to the support belt that is actually much more supportive than the Cerberus counterpart. There is a reason everyone from the top tier to the amateur level (myself included) has at least one piece of EA equipment.
My gym bag is overkill in comparison! I have one less pair of shoes... but then everything you have, I also have (minus the sups). But then I also have chalk (liquid & dry), Figure 8 straps, grip shirt, neoprene shorts, tacky towel & normal tacky (only if stones are guaranteed), WD40 (tacky remover), football gloves, ankle supports, deodorant, anti-inflammatories, athletic tape, smelling salts, Theragun, a resistance band for warming up, and probably a kitchen sink somewhere. I've had a few local comps where events/rules changed on the fly and wish I had things that I opted not to bring due to what the events/rules WERE before that day. So now, I plan for everything... and of course, ever since... no events or rules have changed in any other comps I've taken part in. LOL
Im slowly getting my gym kit bigger, been on a health journey the last 6 months and im down 120 pounds the more i do the more i realize good equipment is important.
It's definitely not overkill. I started with a backpay for the gym now got a huge Team Affinity bag to store all of my strongman gear 😂. The only couple of things I thought you might have which I've got in mine are figure of 8 straps and a massage gun.
As someone who is repeatedly smashing their head into a wall trying to break through a strict OHP plateau. . I would love to know more about how the shoes help and how the mouth piece can provide overhead stability. I do use a mouth piece when lifting heavy but I always OHP with no shoes on.
We have GGB Triplets at home who are 22 months. My wife SWEARS by her weight belt for dealing with them all day long. Lifting, carrying and even just playing with them and the belt has saved her back.
. Probably not an issue for you, but I always have a spare set of collars and a backup pair of straps (for when I notice the current ones are getting worn out). Will have to try wide straps at some point.
I have all the same gear except the elbow cuffs and turf shoes. I wear bearfoot shoes for most lifts/deadlift and Do-Win heeled lifting shoes for squat/overhead. One thing that I don’t have that I will probably add to my bag is a chalk box. I make my supplements before and take them to the gym if I’m using them. I do carry rice krispy treats in my bag as a quick fix if my sugar level drops.
just for training in the gym its all ok -- more just keeping it all together in one place/bag - probs a few more items if in a comp -- but training wise i feel a lot of beginners get to caught up in thinking i need this or that --- just keep it simple -- and just focus on just getting stronger --- and perhaps i would argue not to over use supports --- raw doggin it every now and then upto about 80% 1rm
Mitchell, you could easily put together a really nice gym bag and sell them. I’m looking for something. All these years, I’m sick and tired of trying to dig through the bag with stuff falling all over the place …
I started with just a few thing, now drawstring bag is overflowing, time for a bigger gym back, personally I think more kit and bigger bag is a sign of progress 😜🤪😜😝😜
I think it's a wise move having the same kit the others are using. It would be a bit foolish to limit yourself by not using that kit and getting even the slightest of advantages. I mean, one missed rep equals potentially tying for placement or getting knocked out of first place. Right? Always cool to see what the pros are using. I find the elbow cuffs interesting. I don't lift the kind of weight that I figure really needs the full elbow sleeves, but the cuffs seem like they would be useful to me at times.
Water bottle, phone, car keys. Also take wrist straps for my deadlift session. No belt because I want to develop my erectors. No knee sleeves because I can manage without them after a little mobility work before heading out. I'll probably need more support gear one day, but I won't be buying any of it before that point because anything good is expensive.
Everyone is different, but if you need straps for your deadlift then you probably would be benefiting from a belt too. For me its about the 350lb mark that the lack of belt becomes super noticeable on deadlift and I actually get more core engagement when I throw it on. I don't subscribe to the thought that a belt limits spinal erector engagement and there is evidence that it in fact increases engagement.
I like Mitch I’m a Aussie but I don’t understand why strong men don’t discuss there real supply of test. People are kidding them self’s if they think they just eat alot.
Lifting shoes, belt, straps, wrist wraps, water bottle/shaker, various bandages and band aids, backup toilet paper and clean underwear for those questionable high fiber deadlift sessions. 🤣
I just make the guys who are smaller than me at the gym follow me around and carry my stuff, highly recommend as I'm not wasting energy bending down to unzip my gym bag

Here I was thinking two belts was too much, and now I feel much better knowing the Moose himself carries three belts in his gym bag

evolution's equipment is a cut above the rest, their soft belt is game changing

I misread "massage" as "massive" and wondered how bad your gym was for a second there

Question:
Do you use any headphones or earbuds while at the gym?
Mitchell, you could easily put together a really nice gym bag and sell them. I’m looking for something.
All these years, I’m sick and tired of trying to dig through the bag with stuff falling all over the place …
All the best to you both for Sat.

Ya basturt. 🤣 Seed for the dove I reckon...
I started the same. Then got in strongman. Got tired of looking for stuff. Stick it all in one bag. I have smelling salts. But don't use often
Is that one of those magic bags,I thought an articulated lorry was going to come out next 😂
Only Mitch could fit three belts, three shoes, a frozen pizza and a microwave in a single commercial sized gym bag
What's your opinion on versa grips vs the regular straps?
Pretty fair kit
Rogue towel might be overkill LOL

What about dropped heel shoes? I have a pair of nikes and I love them foe lifting. They just suck for running obviously
Eddie Hall keeps an emergency cheeseburger in his bag
You need to update your Evolution Athletics link mate.
need a fanny pack with 8 proteinbars in it all melting in to mush due to body heat. The sticky ricky method
Go Mitch, get that full beard!

Have a set of fat gripz to constantly be working on my grip

missing the protein powder lol... seems like having specific gear for specific event's/lifts is becoming more normalized
