It’s cool how even though they compete against each other in the end, they still train alongside each other. Great sportsmanship 💪🏻
It’s always confused me why this isn’t more commonplace in the strongman world. Not just little collab videos throughout the training cycles, but actual full strongman camps with other competitors. You’ve gotta face ‘em anyways, let ‘em push you and you push them.
I mean its very much you versus yourself type of sport. Your competing against them, but its really just you versus the weights.
They want to find the worlds strongest man, they don’t care if it’s themself.
When 4 time worlds strongest man Brian Shaw asks you to train you don't say no.
It's a trick. Brian's gonna have them bumped off while they're in Colorado to lessen the competition he will face at worlds. Just kidding. Like you said. Good sportsmanship.
Trey was flying so graceful. Who knew? Strong group of Americans for sure. Pulling for Brian to get WSM #5. The most deserving man on earth.

I was wondering if anyone was going to mention that, I'm still watching their warmups plate by plate and I'm wondering why on earth is he deadlifting like that.
Evan seems to have an ego about him judging by the way he lifts. Like he's trying to show off by bouncing the weight like that on nearly every rep.
His form actually kinda makes me mad lol
I know they are in the top 1% of the strongest man on the planet, but to see how easy 200+kg deadlifts come of the ground is insane
I don't think I'll ever pull more than 250-270kg natural if I could do 300kg I'd be pumped for life but to see them ragdoll 300kg😢
I was just about to say this. It's not about the fact that the weight is heavy, it's how 'light' they make the weight look.

What's Evan doing? He's looking super strong but you can see a huge difference between his approach and Brian's approach and well..Brain's pretty good at not getting injured, that's all I'm sayin'
Yes just that stupid elephant bar but over the years he has never had many significant injuries
@@CWPWWRESTLING that elephant bar was his nemesis, I've heard that the Arnold's stage was the problem and it injured others as well, probably not great to be deadlifting on a wooden stage and with such a long bar

@DinGo I would like to see Brian take Evan under his wing in the near future. I believe Evan has potential but needs a well-grounded strongman like Brian to help him over come some character flaws.
He does EVERY deadlift like this. Every single rep in training is done like this. He doesn’t even lock it out, or practice the eccentric. Two very important things for comps
Evans ego is a bit annoying honestly especially being in a room full of other strongmen

I like that Brian cotrolled the weight much better even at low weight.. Alot of the other dudes didnt even let the weight hit the floor and they already started walking away.. like they just wanted it done and go..
Yeah I’m no strongman expert, but I’m pretty sure popping those hips forward is a thing they should be doing every rep too, and seeing Evan not bother to do that before throwing the bar back down was less impressive than he wanted it to be lol. Love his intensity though, I hope he can reign it in and have a curse-free shot this year.

Brian has always had very controlled deadlifts. Go look back at the old Arnold’s, and 2016 WSM. Just smooth from the floor all the way to the lock out.

Can't stand how Evan deadlifts. He throws the weight down harder than he pulls it up. He's slamming it back down before he even comes close to lockout. Might bite him in the ass one day in comp when he pulls a big boy weight and can't lock it out. As always, Shaws form is flawless!

I get so fired up watching Brian prep for this years WSM. Even more so when you notice the little things in the video that aren't talked about like the marks from where he had cupping done that shows you how far he's taking his recovery to make sure everything is on point. I love deadlifts. I set a new PR at the end of February. I hit 550 lbs at 170 lbs body weight. I had to hitch the heck out of it, but I got it and I got it on video. My goal is 600 within the next few months.
man i envy you..i have the same bodyweight (75kilos) and i have just cleared the 440lbs mark, aiming for 285

Incredible video. IMO it beats watching strongman. Brian is an awesome and generous guy, everyone’s friend. I can only imagine the funky odor in that gym of titans.
Anyone else thrown off by how fast Evan pulls those warm ups? And equally perplexing is how slow Trey pulls them.
Yes it was really peeing me off . These are some of the strongest lifters in the world and to watch him deadlift was not what I would show someone learning.
What Trey is doing is sound training. He’s making sure all his muscles are engaged, taking his time to make sure he gets his hips through. No bloody idea what Evan is doing though 😂
This actually something a lot of really strong deadlifters do, other examples are Pete Rubish, Andrew Hause and Eric Lilliebridge. Essentially you use your warm ups to practice speed of the floor, so that you can move heavy weights faster.
This whole comment section is essentially Dunning Krueger effect in action, telling one of the best deadlifters in the world that he's is doing it wrong.

What’s really odd is that he does this every rep, every training session. I just don’t get it. The two most important parts for Strongman deadlift is lockout and the eccentric movement (not dropping it). He doesn’t train any of that

I love how they treat what is for them an extremely light weight with the same attention to technique they do a very heavy lift.
