I found your channel in my recommendations, love how invested and meticulous you are while playing the game, it's nice to see someone like me who cares about taking in as much knowledge as possible.
I don't think that most of the Spirit Ashes we find are actually for using, but are rather a way of communicating lore to the player, not least giving us the correct names for some of the enemies we encounter.
When you think about it, this game is really huge. This is mind-blowing. I completed the main story game but when I watch play through of people like you, I realize how many things the developers have hidden everywhere in the game including parts of the map and dungeons. I can't believe that FromSoftware's team was only 400 people. These people must have had a crazy amount of creativity to think about all these things.
Okay I’m not confirming or denying if Elden Ring has an equivalent, but there is that ring you get from black dragon kalameet that makes you take more damage with no benefit in DS1. So I can think of worse potential talisman effects 😂
