That game type should be its own mode (but don't say it too loud, Blizzard's going to claim that Idea as their own). It's a really interesting take on the BattleRoyale genre!
I believe the custom maps in SC2 are all considered Blizzard property according to their EULA. Think about Direct Strike, they have a paid version for that. I'm gonna be a happy man if they make this a fun show match format in their tournaments. It's gonna provide a lot of memes.
You should check out the War3 reforged terms of service. They claim ALL ideas and maps created by any player as their own, you know just in case another dota is created. I wouldn't be surprised if they have incorporated this in new terms of service for their other games like SC2

yeah, maru was the one that won - in the end there was "Maru was victorious" if i saw correctly as for who SHOULD HAVE won, for me it is Impact - he played well, took advantage of the center as much as possible, chose good starting location, he just couldnt/forgot to make structures in the center, but his army was clearly better than the rest
Yeah I went back and checked. It says "Innovation was defeated, Patience was defeated, Maru was victorious." The strange part is that it says that as Inno's last building dies. Makes sense for him, but no idea why it eliminated Patience at the exact same time, when he still had a building. Strange, possibly a bug.
Patience may have conceded/surrendered/idk how exactly it is called - he may have just left the game since he saw he had no chance of winning that engagement when his carrier fleet got decimated

The easy explanation to the previous vid's popularity; people love seeing random craziness get thrown into the mix when dealing with "tournament" style games. And looking at the incredible amount of variety in the Starcraft online arcade, there is a near endless amount of possibilities for future recorded casts on your channel.

Maru and Innovation are playing like how Terran is supposed to be played. Watched an overview of Terran with Jim narrating, he mentioned the Terran doesn't have the Protoss technology nor the Zerg adaptability but they have friendship.
Though alliances have the potential to be interesting, having unofficial alliances that most benefit the arguably best player makes it a lot less exciting. Perhaps it could be used as a catch up mechanism? The losing players can bind together or something. (based off of supply?...) FFA in RTS is something I was waiting for a game to do right.

I would agree that it is not easy to prevent but would not say it is not possible to prevent. Part of the solution could be rewarding the damage you cause to other players. This would remove most incentive from not attacking when you can. The issue with this is a run-away leader if it is too impact.
@@ndclub67 Apex rewards players for getting into combat, which is a nice idea. However I kinda struggle to see how players could be rewarded for attacking "all" players rather than just "some" as that is what would be needed to discourage quick alliances.
I actually really like the idea of players working together, though I'd love to see some cross-race friendships. It creates a lot of fun dynamics. Imagine a player working together, and then actually backstabs and works with the enemy. How much fun chaos would that create? If you got 3D chess going on in 1v1, you have 6D chess here. :P

This would be much interesting when playing with more than 1v1 if the enemies's units weren't revealed until all enemy bases were destroyed. (from all enemies) So people down to a few drones could resurface while you are clearing out another enemy or defending..

Second match was probably one of the most entertaining I've seen. Not sure how to regulate them working together other than just make it a team battle royale. Then it's understood across the map. Lastly the winning condition should be whoever has the last item on the map be it a building or unit.
lowko, when they go in the center, they build hatches or nexus because according to the rules of the map, if you do not have any main building (cc/hatch/nexus) during one minute, you are considered eliminated from the game (i've tested the english version of the map that's why i know it) @LowkoTV
This is kinda what I wanted Starcraft to feel like. An epic multi race, multi player scramble that feels more befitting of the lore over small 1v1 skirmishes.
As Terran I'd say the island isn't a bad spawn, just expand before your first barracks and build your unit producing structures at a nearby base connected to the land mass.

Impact totally forgot to bring a spore or spine and lost just like that. Aside from the obvious alliance of Terrans and Protoss, Inno had a truce with Hurricane I think. 34:06 Inno kill the train, 34:40 Hurricane collect the resources (watch mini map)
THIS is the StarCraft shenanigans we all wanted! These games are the funniest and weirdest things we've seen, I mean we have Innovation stuck on a deserted island with battlecruisers, Entire armies dropping in for map control, trains full of resources. I find these chaotic games where noone knows what to do WAYYY more fun than the standard 1v1 meta games. These are the epic cinematic slugfests everyone knows and wanted, also NUUUUUUKES!
The ending to the 2. game was glorious! Loved how everyone just lost when they had no more buildings. Tough shit when you forget the basic win condition of the game. And this timer is a bit boring, I do prefer the way that Winter did his FFAs even if they did go on very long due to team play and auch
Lowko, it may not be an agreement between Maru and Impact. Think about it, if you get first place you can let someone else get second place in exchange for them not attacking you (shown by Maru leaving an SCV there), both players are happy. However Innovation and Maru definitely have some sort of thing going on
I guess you should be able to put in like to top left-hand corner or something a single structure per a player and have it be invulnerable until that player has no units remaining. It would slightly mess up the normal means of eliminating someone, but only slightly. If you have units, but no other structures, your days are numbered as it is.
I think early game objectives could be good, like killing a cc/hatch/nexus in first 6 mins or so would give some bonus resources to incentivise aggro otherwise people tend to play safe
This map is mostly translated (except tips and other unimportant things) in english and named in SC2 Arcade as FFA Battle Royale You cannot build in the center but you can build around it and the circle doesnt shrink to zero. Also there is balance event at 17 min or so that every flying building is destroyed so terran effectively cannot lift their buildings anymore. During the center count all players see how much secs each player spent in the center (with some delay for others so one cannot see that some player is in the center right now) And yes that 2 seconds bug before assigning random place is still there (played yesterday :) )
I did not mind the teaming. They teamed up in the Hunger Games, that was a battle royale. the point is to win, they conniving of the mind is essential to the battle royale.

Just FYI, the LAG is not an issue regarding the time the game was made in. Supreme Commander is 3 years older than SC2 and can handle quite a bit more on the screen.
Hey Lowko, do you think that some pros could be convinced to try out games with mods to make it more interesting/crazy? I'm thinking maybe seeing them play with the Xel'Naga faction, or perhaps a mod that makes workers cost no supply, or maybe add neutral units to the map to make it harder for them to fight each other. Just a thought.

at the end of neural, cast jump for battlecruiser, so that maru can't jump away. So smart
