Fantastic video Ramsey. All those samples and bottles are going to make for great content. I need to pick up those Serge’s ASAP. SOTD: Guerlain Vetiver. Cheers 🍻
I really like this “emotional” style of reviewing, based on imagery rather than functionality. It reminds me a bit of Scentland. You’re very good at it imho. I like very technical ones as well. What I hate are the “here’s the olfactory pyramid from Fragrantica” kind of reviews, so basically 99% of YT stuff lol
😂😂😂 Thank you... its not my go to... but sometimes I feel like its the only way to express how a perfume makes me feel... this was one of those times 🤌🤌🤌
Hey Ramsey! Serge Lutens Le participe passe is one of my favorite from recent Serge creations. Its so dense, moody and poetic... It evokes some kind of feeling for me from the past. Also I find L'innommable being similar in feeling with LPP with immortel added. So check L`innomable if you are a fan of LPP.
Nice I want to smell all the other SL one of these days but I will put L'innomable on the list for sure... not sure why LPP gets the hate... i really liked it🙂
Good stuff brother... Le Participe Passe is a winner in my book.... And you mentioned Arabian Oud. I have Kashmir from them. And this house needs much more of my attention. I like what they're doing. ✌🏻
I have a decant of kashmir... will do a video on them soon ... we need to have you on another live stream one day bro... the people demand it! Could be as early as tomorrow or months in the future... lemme know if younare down amd you have an open invitation Jonathan 🙏

Ah ! I was interested in trying Le participe passé (Pronunciation is not too bad. No -hay at the end of participe, but your pronunciation of passé is perfect ! 😀). It seems to have got lukewarm responses when it first came out but I'm glad to hear you like it. Serge Lutens is still a relevant house imo. I have recently purchased modern bottles of a couple of their classic scents and while they may be different they are still excellent fragrances to my nose. I've yet to try any in the Gratte-Ciel Bottles tho.
That gratte-ciel bottle of Borneo 1834 to my nose feels like there is a plasticky- Amberwood note in the base that I cant imagine smelling in the original bottle... yet its still a good patchouli... i am lucky to have the SL frags I have ... thanks for watching 🙂
Really great haul man 👍.... similarly I've just picked up a cologne version of Burberrys for men, to go along with my vintage edt version. Also today I swapped my part used Tigerlust sample for a 3/4 full flacon of creeds 'bois de santal' been hunting it years and an unbelievable bargin trade 😁... it's supposed to be a dirty civet, mysore, vanilla and tonka blend.
Glad you liked the haul Ramsey, seriously thank you for all the great content you always put out🙏 😄 apologies for dulling your poor knife 🔪😆 There may be some more hauls in the future 😁
Ramsey, Thanks for sharing. Just wanted to let you know that it's my understanding that profumun Roma is under Roja Dove. If so, one can compare frags from that brand to the roja brand. I believe I heard this some yrs back from another reviewer. Thanks again! A2!
I have never heard that before and it sounds like nothing but a rumor... Profumum Roma has been around for decades before Roja ever had his own brand but if anyone has articles to link please leave them below 🙏🙏🙏
Ramsey, In your dialogue about the house of Serge Luten, you touched on reformulation & older bottles compared to New bottles. I have about 10 Serge Luton bottles & all but 1 bottle have the castle logo on bottle & packaging. All bottles are pre-2010, and it's my understanding that the house changed their logo from the castle to the SL logo after 2010 and that any fragrance that brand continued to sell retail after 2010 was reformulated in bottles with new brand logo= SL. Luckyscent used to offer one of brands scents ever so often in the past & they would always tell customers it was an original formula bottle. This was confirmed by bottle logo being the old castle logo & the batchcode on that bottle would indicate it was a pre-2010 release. So I said all this to say that if you own a Borneo 1834 or Vetiver Oriental bottle with the new SL logo on bottle, would indicate a reformulated bottle, as both bottles were released pre-2010. Now if true, then I would assume that if same juice has been put into the even newer 100ML bottles, that could possibly indicate a 2Ms reform of fragrances. I'm not 100% sure, but one thing that I've notice, seeing a pattern is that brand when deciding to reform a frag for whatever reason, have resulted in putting changed juice in a better looking, more appealing bottle. Now that I've had time to think about it, the Serge luton fragrance luckyscent would offer in the past every so often with limited supply was * VETIVER ORIENTAL. And you would get juice in a bottle with castle logo not SL logo. While juice is good in your bottle & your bottle could be considered an old bottle compared to bottles brand is currently offering, I just wanted to point out that the older bottles appear to be those with castle logo on them. Thanks for sharing again. Your Chanel is not only one that showcases great frags from past to present but brings education on them as well. You're a great teacher on the subject of fragrances. Keep smelling great. A2!
For sure those older bottles are called the pallaise royal bottles and I have some of those as well ... i have found any of the older bottles before the 2018 reform are fantastic... can hardly tell a difference between the pallaise royal and the bottles that look like the pallaise royal but with the SL logo 🤌🤌🤌
I'm waiting for a non-label Zellige limited edition version to come out before I purchase, la couche du diable... those labels bother me that much! 😄.... failing that I'll just peel it off and have no label! 🤣🤣
Le Participe Passé…. I love the name and Lutens’ blurb (all his blurbs are beautiful written and evocative), but cannot handle the sweetness…that burnt sugar s smell that stays around forever. La Couche de Diable….name is okay, but I love the perfume. I like being in the SL world too. Le Participe Passé is the only SL I find difficult to wear.
Its funny because I dont get burnt sugar from LPP ... its just crazy how each of our nose intreprets things different.... we can agree on liking Serge Lutens world 🌎
