I know my stuff around Lightroom, at least I thought ! This is next level. Never used the calibration tool in like 10+ yrs of using LR. You got another sub !!
Very nice to see how you explain such functions in a simple and understandable way and how to use them in a real life situation to your benefit. Thank you. 👍
A kick as* tutorial i would say, i have watched many others for the calibration but still was not sure about the tool, your tutorial is the best for this tool. Thanks a ton again.
Hey Stan!! I love your tutorials!! This channel definitely deserves more subs!! I greatly appreciate your detailed and thorough explanations!! Been using these tools really without knowing what they were doing and this 10 minutes tutorial definitely helped me understand what these sliders do. Can’t thank you enough!
I use the HSL tool mostly and less the color grading.. I almost never touched the calibration tool... After this tutorial i surely will... Thanks... Subbed for more straightforward tutorials like this...
If HSL targets specific colours which in majority of the cases we wish to target individual areas why and when would we actually use calibration where we want to change a specific colour but in the process end up changing every single pixel that this colour has? In a real life example I would want to target a landscape with background but leave one of the trees with a different colour unchanged. Using calibration would affect both the background and the tree isn't it?
Yes you wouldn't be able to do that with Calibration. But also with HSL I would imagine the result is not going to be that good. Simply because in most photos nothing is purely one color, a green tree will also have some yellow or orange in there for example. To achieve your example I would work in two layers in Photoshop using a mask.
@@SightseeingStan I suppose like any other tool we would have to incorporate a lot of practice with Calibration to explore the possibilities. Theoretically there might be some constraints that must not justify its applications.
I've seen a lot of photos where all the greens were turn into some kind of deep Blue.. but I've never been able to recreate it using just LR, is there a way?

I use calibration + HSL
Two very powerful tools! 👍

I'm not sure exactly what you mean but you can do a lot with the combo HSL - Calibration - Color grading
when I open shadows under calibration , my shadows are grayed out cant change the shadows
Niceee
Thanks! 👍
hello bro can you make tutorial for warm skin tone to lightroom thanks you hope you read this..
I can look into this! 👍
Why my light room don’t have a calibration tool 🤔 your setup looks a little different as well.
Perhaps you are in Lightroom CC? This is Lightroom Classic
Wow, a SECRET tool!
If it was so good why didn't they include it with LR CC?
