    I watched your entire Camino videos from start to finish. I will be walking the Camino for the first time in 2020 when I am 70 years old!!! I gained so much info from your videos and certainly took down notes. You made me laugh at your funny comments and I can hardly wait for my adventure.

      Loved your production and of course your journey Efren! I did the Camino with my wife. She is still working and I'm recently retired so our time was super limited to a week. Naturally, we had to pick Sarria as a starting point. Your video brought back the lovely memories we have of Galicia and the people and pilgrims we met there. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us out there. Buen Camino

    "The Wall... too soon?" that is funny!! I had to quickly look at when you published this video. I'll be watching your videos in sequence and thank you so much to people like you who take the time to educate us all! I'm planning on an April 2019 trip and I'm looking forward to watching not just the scenery and your life philosophies but also your photo and video techniques. But I'll be bringing a small Sony mirrorless. A Canon DSLR with a 24-70 is just plain crazy. I, too hope to publish my take on my Camino Way, Just hoping for continued good health. Buen Camino!

I live up in a town at 8000 ft above sea level so I think I'll be fine. I love the misty parts ❤️ we're presently in our monsoon season and it's gonna be mist for 3 months 😂. All your videos are great! They set the standard for Camino Vlogs!
    For those who have not walked the Camino Frances yet, if you have any concerns at all about your fitness then spent the first night at Orisson (where Efrén had breakfast), there is a very good communal dinner experience and you will meet people who you will see during the whole Camino. Your bunk and dinner will cost about 38 Euros, which might seem high for the Camino, but for me it was worth it.

    This Camino actually changed my life, I have lived a life of 24/7 but when took my first steps up the mountain it released a passion for Spain and walking. My grandfather was Spanish and my walk wasn't without drama's spending the night in San Pedro Hospital after collapsing. Suffering from dehydration, waking up with 4 stitches on my nose and 2 black eyes taking the drip at of arm and catching a taxi back to Najera to get my backpack and walk in the pouring rain to Santo Domingo.

    I also chose not to listen to music at all along the Camino. At home, I’m listening to music all the time, and I wanted to live a completely different life on the Camino. It was the right decision. I had nothing but blue skies and sun for most of my Camino. I only got the rain on one day close to Santiago and then two days on the way to Finisterre. Clear skies and sun versus walking in the fog make for two completely different Caminos.

  • @LuisMonteiro22
    @LuisMonteiro22 5 років тому +4

    I will watch all the videos... I did the Camino in July-August (2018) and I was looking for information for my photos and I found out your videos.
    Thank you for sharing your experience.
    And I am looking forward to see all those footage from the drone... It's a different perspective.
    By the way... The red and white and blue stripes that you see (saw) in some parts of the Camino... They are routes.
    In case of the white-blue-white it means that you are in a European long-distance paths (or only E-path), and there is one called E3 path that covers many countries in Europe, and it goes along the Camino de Santiago.
    The red-white is another long-distance footpath, but this one doesn't cover so many countries in Europe. The name of this one is Grande Randonnée (or Gran Recorrido, or simply GR). In this case you/we walked in the GR65.
    There is another curiosity with the indications. You might see along the way some blue arrows (I think I saw it in Santiago de Compostela or on the way to Finisterre/Fisterra).
    Well, some people say that is to indicate the Camino backwards... Others believe that is to indicate the route to Fátima (in Portugal).
    Sorry for the long comment...
    Ultreia!

    I seems you started the walk in mid April and finished in late May.Is this correct? What was a typical temperature when you started each morning (in C) and what was it by (say) mid morning.It seems ( from watching your videos) that at 7am it could be 5-7 Celsius and 15-20 Celsius by mid morning? Does this sound correct?

      Hi Rob. sorry it took this long to reply to your comment but it was in my junk mail. temperature varied greatly through the trip as a cold front hit northern Spain during the time i was there (April - May) having said that for the most part when it was cold it was below 10c and it would always warm up to around 20c midday.

      Thank you nachjer. Didn't have a problem with the mavic. Only one store owner had a problem with it but after a talk he didn't mind it anymore just curious. I was very discreet as to not bother others.

    • @nachjer

      Theodore Rzepski the French Route has a lot of cool things on it. The Portuguese Route is less travelled. I would choose the French Route.

      Hola gloria, gracias! En mi opinión no es necesario quedarse en Orisson pero cada cual hace el camino a su propio ritmo. Creo que me tomo unas dos o tres horas en llegar ahí. es un albergue bien pequeño y no hay nada alrededor.

      Morgan Doel honestly I didn't have a cellphone plan in Spain. I only relied on wifi at the Albergues and bars. Never made a reservation myself but I did see a lot of people doing it and it worked for them. I was also on the shoulder season. If you are walking in the summer then I highly recommend you do them. Buen camino my friend.

      How did you take care of bed bugs? If you had, how did you and what medicine did you bring in details?

    • @Walk_with_Efren
      @Walk_with_Efren  7 років тому +1

      joe it wasn't hot enough for bed bugs. I had a sleeping bag and most albergues provided clean sheets. I also saw people spraying their beds to kill them. Personally I didn't have an issue as for medicine I took ibuprofen (it helped a lot) and a blister kit. That's about it. You can see everything I took in detail in my gear video.

    Hi Efren,
    I have a hard question foe you, if you only have 10 days to do the French and you really want to finish at SDC, how would you distribute those ten days / stages?
    And coming back to do rest is not an option!!
    Thank you.

    • @Walk_with_Efren
      @Walk_with_Efren  2 роки тому +1

      To be honest with you. The last ten days are not the best. Forget the compostela it's just a piece of paper. Start in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port or better yet walk from Le Puy en Valley to Conques

  • @Joyseeker
    @Joyseeker 6 років тому

    The Flickering cause by 60 mhz.... europe is 50 mhz you said.... but how does that affect you editing in Florida? What gear was affected? (formatting the cards?) still don't understand.

    • @Walk_with_Efren
      @Walk_with_Efren  6 років тому

      Its visual flicker and doesn't affect anything else. If you set the shutter to 50 it goes away but I did not notice it on my small LCD screen. I believe you can also change it on the camera settings which I will do on my next trip the via francigena.

    • @Joyseeker
      @Joyseeker 6 років тому +1

      so nothing to do with europe.
      amazed with your agility with the 5D and gorilla. you must have applied post steady shot to iron out the jitter. and guessed your framing. Your narration was very good but it was always you in the frame. Hard to believe your framing.
      They just finished and Droned alot. ua-cam.com/channels/rLTabOV29R-5v6zWTlEKyA.html
      (we in the UK look forward to leaving the EU regulations..... one of which prohibits a Still shot camera running more then 30 mins of video at a time.)
