I sold my 2005 C55 with 10k on it. It was almost factory new and I regret it to this day. Don’t sell! Drive and enjoy! Don’t worry.
these cars are so iconic, dind like them as a kid, but it starts to grow on me the more i look at them...
The engineering and build quality of this car is nothing but amazing. Hopefully we will see the cars from that era which were as famous as this e55

This generation of Mercedes was the best ever made. The facelift W203 C Class, the W211 E Class and the facelift W220 S Class. For me all the best versions that Mercedes ever had. They felt so solid and still are today. Way more solid than the nonsense they make now.
W212 (and W204 / W221) was arguably the better car, after the 'rust' period, black sludge and SBC pump horrors MB really tried to up their game in terms of reliability with the W212 and W204. They were very well engineered. They just don't have the soul / classic mercedes feel that their predecessors had imho.
@@timmie426 It's a tough one for me. The facelift 203 and 220 resolved the rust issues. The 211 never had rust issues. Currently my dad still has his 2004 W203 C220 cdi. It has 340,000 kms on and feels rock solid and the interior still looks great which is amazing. I had a 2012 W204 facelift. And with only 18,000 kms on, it had so many rattles. My dad's W203 drives so much better than the W204. The 203 has less road and wind noise and a much more supple ride that feels very Mercedes. The attention to detail as well as material and build quality was also alot better on the 203. I was actually so disappointed by my 204 C Class that I sold it within 11 months of having it. I expected a W203 experience but it felt like a downgrade. I then got a 2014 W212 E350 Bluetec which I adore and love. It's modern, looks great and it feels solid. However, again I feel that it can't really match the interior build and material quality of the W211 E320 which my friend had. The 211 also, without a doubt, has a better ride than my 212 and also way less rattles. The 212 can be a bit crashy whereas the 211 would float over everything. And for me, the 211's interior feels more modern than the 212's interior.

It's feels solid and looks modern on the outside. However, I still feel that my friends W211 E320 that they had had a better ride quality and a more solid interior. My 212 has quite a bit more rattles than a 211 would have and the ride quality of the 212 isn't as good as the 211. It feels a bit more crashy which is sad. The 211 will always, for me, be the best E ever made. The interior still feels more modern to me than my 212 and the ride quality is unmatched.

Absolute unit of a car with such a legendary engine. I have a C55 from the era and I am shocked by how well it has held up. Build quality on these AMGs was much better back then. No rattles, interior looks brand new, and still pulls like hell!
It will be missed! Btw I'd love to see more 'oldtimers' on here or like older American muscle cars, maybe a pre war car lol :)

My first ever car was an S211 but with the E320 cdi engine. Very many memories with that car :)
211 is so underrated it has its problem but drivetrain is pretty bulletproof. The feel and build quality is something you dont find novadays. Owner of a 2005 320cdi wagon last I6

The W213??? It's so badly made. Very poor interior build and material quality.

Why does everyone forget about the W212? It was way, way more reliable than the 211 and 213, for the general public the 211 was plagued with sbc pump horrors and black sludge if not maintained correctly. For someone who looks after their car it is not a big deal but back then it was a harsh reality for the W124 driver who got into the W211! They tried to up their game with the W212 and focus on reliability again
@@timmie426what you meen reliable? Friend has 2013 1.8 E200, engine blown. 2014 E300de (bluetec hybrid) 207 000km. Engine blown) my w211 2007 v6 diesel. Just like new in and out. 573 000km. And W211 e55 348 000km.

I loved my S211 from 2005, which I sold 4 months ago. The trunk was incredible... I managed to fit two 2m sofas in and closed the door, and there was still 15cm left...

I bought a JP import car from NL,, Klaas Singels ,, Singels automotive.. in Delft,, Alabaster White,, 2004 driven 74k,, and registered the car in De,, today 90.000 k,, still,, standing like new,,
I can say with guarantee that there is no car on the road that you will get a greater value,,than 211 E55k ,i visited Klaas some weeks later ,, and he had 4 x E63 inside his hall,, all former owners went back to E55k ,,, i adore my car,, and me and my wife ,, we really like it

Früher besaß ich ein ähnliches Modell, aber es war Dieselkraftstoff. Es rauchte manchmal. Es hatte die Farbe Schwarz, das ich früher besaß, aber es wurde verkauft, und ich war wirklich traurig darüber. Ich vermisse Mercedes-Benz.
