      pro trick: you can watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching a lot of movies recently.

    By far the best demo of this synth I' ve heard! You got some lovely sounds out of it ♥️👍

    For the delays, were you using any outside effects? Or is everything I'm hearing coming from the Neutron? Thank you for the great video.

      I'm new to Synth's. I have one of these in my Zzounds cart, with a keystep. what do I need to connect the two of them together?

    • @Pastafield
      @Pastafield 6 років тому

      @@billwatson9085 a midi cable is the easiest option. You use it to connect the keystep's midi output port to the neutron's midi input port

    Picking one up "used" for $260 after taxes. Can't wait to pair it with the crave when they release it. Love getting deals 2nd hand.

    Nice review. Is the sound coming out of this synth mono? If yes, is it possible to make it sound stereo?

    • @AndrewSouthworth
      @AndrewSouthworth  6 років тому +1

      Mono here, I dont think there is any stereo functionality, only one output on the back.

    • @kl0z836
      @kl0z836 6 років тому +1

      I supose you could use the patchbay to output two signals instead of one.

    • @F-Andre
      @F-Andre 6 років тому +1

      only way to make it stereo, copy the signal thru patchaby and or use a delay /reverb....

      @@kellymerrill5294 i got a question. When you buy two... and want to record it in stereo. Do you have to put all the knobs on both synths the same? to record in ur DAW stereo? sorry i am trying to see what is the big deal with getting two. I see it in comments all the time.

      Nice! Yeah this thing is solid. Its amazing to me that they can make this available for $300, cheaper than most Eurorack modules and half the price of a Moog Mother-32 or DFAM.

    This is awesome. Some very nifty sounds here. You ever mess around with the patch points? I just got a Neutron this week and I'm new to synth programming but I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of crazy sounds I can get by patching.

    • @AndrewSouthworth
      @AndrewSouthworth  5 років тому

      I have another video on here where I play with the patch points. Its definitely a good feature of the synth, especially if you have other modular gear (I do).

  • @MakingMadBeats

    • @AndrewSouthworth
      @AndrewSouthworth  6 років тому

      Yeah, the Neutron is awesome. In another video I play around with the patch bay, just self-patching. Eventually I need to make a video integrating this into my modular rig.

  • @disarmsox

    This, or Model D?

    • @AndrewSouthworth
      @AndrewSouthworth  6 років тому

      Thats a tough one. If you want to get into modular gear and patching, definitely this. The Neutron sounds more modern and has effects built in, but the Model D just sounds huge and has a more vintage feel.
      If you want more diversity and bang for your buck, get the Neutron. If you want a classic Model D sound, get that. For a first hardware synth I'd also say the Neutron.

    • @disarmsox
      @disarmsox 6 років тому

      @@AndrewSouthworth I think the neutron has a greater sonic palette perhaps, but I just love the model D vintage roar:) I've already got a microbrute and other synths. Maybe I could hook up the micro to the model D and have 4 oscillators. I think I need to have a play around on both.

    • @disarmsox
      @disarmsox 6 років тому

      @@AndrewSouthworth or neutron and micro might be a great combination.

    • @acadams5
      @acadams5 5 років тому +1

      @@disarmsox hey, even though this was a year ago, if you're still thinking about it, go for it. I have a microbrute and a Dreadbox Erebus and just got a Neutron, and patching them together is mind blowing. You can poly chain the Neutron with the other synths to get more paraphony, and the mults, sums, and attenuators add tons of versatility to the other synths even if you're not using the Neutron directly. Imagine using the Neutron's patch bay just for your microbrute - it would be worth it EVEN just for that. But the Neutron sounds amazing too

  • @Hesohi

    Sounds a lot better than their Model D. This one is smoother in the higher freq range. Their model D is too harsh up there. This one is awesome when overdriven. Muddy ish when not. Wonder what it sounds like in the mix?

    • @AndrewSouthworth
      @AndrewSouthworth  6 років тому +1

  • @MakingMadBeats
    @MakingMadBeats 6 років тому +1

    Can' t decide between this, the Model D or even go polyohonic with a Deepmind 12. I already own a Vermona Mono Lancet 15 and an Arturia Microbrute. Looking mainly for something for softer pad sounds which are of course harder to achieve with mono synths... Hmmm... Too many good stuff out atm 🙈

    • @AndrewSouthworth
      @AndrewSouthworth  6 років тому +1

      The Deepmind12d is excellent if you want to stay analog. I also recently got a Virus B and that is absolutely incredible.
