🙋Bill & Lisa...my son works at Benihana!..he said the onion soup is 'Bone broth'..I know alot of people would love to have Benihana chef leftovers.. honestly..im soo full and done💖..so blessed to have the whole menu brought home..that garlic butter👍...he also said the 'yellow sauce' is a mustard base house dressing..the chef's would cook in the back for employees and my son would bring EVERYTHING home.. including seafood..everything on the menu! I got spoiled! The garlic butter is their signature... Unfortunately i can go another 5 yrs. W/O anymore benihana food...BUT yes..👍👍..please partake in the experience..it is awesome!!
Love from Venice ca.✌😎
Thanks for the insight! Very cool!
I haven't been to Benihana in a few years. We'll be having dinner there tomorrow night. Watching your video is getting me excited for a delicious time!
Wow brings back memories! I was 13 when I returned from living in Japan for 2 years with my parents. My aunt and uncle took me to Benihana for my birthday. As service began I started speaking Japanese with the chef, he was stunned and amazed that this young American girl was speaking Japanese with him. We had a wonderful time and a very special meal. Always good fresh food. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for sharing your story, Liz. 🤗
I've had a few chances to go to Benihana in Hilton Hawaiian Village, but there were so many other great places to try, I never made it! Looks entertaining and I love the Volcanonion! Another great video B & L!
Looks a amazing place to eat!! Thanks as usual for a brilliant video 👍👌🇺🇲🏴
Thats a cheap deal, considering having your own chef and how its made in front of you, looks amazing
aww you guys seem like a sweet couple. I’ve been to that exact location, and their food is so good ❤️
Beef Steak Charlies & Benihana takes me back to the 80's
🥰
Hi Bill and Lisa, I'm going to sign up online right now!!.. everything looked fantastic 👏 👏....thanks for another great tip
Love the video!! I used to work at the Torrance location back in 1988 as a cashier!! Your video brings back so many memories. Food still looks just as good !!! ❤ the fried rice was my favorite!!!
Love the chicken fried rice too! 😋
My uncle Dale took us to Benihana in San Francisco. I went to a Benihana with a colleague in Birmingham (UK) as well. It was quite a show.
It’s has been many years since I’ve been in a Benihana’s - food looked good! Thanks!
The hubs and I were talking about heading to the city for a meal. I was telling him about Benihana’s because he hasn’t been. Thank you for sharing your evening with us. It was fun to get to share that growing up in the North can be a little fancy with the rugged. I sought out the difference in the rugged untouched land he grew up in. He loves that I came from the Pacific North West he wants to retire to. Benihana’s is a place we can eat that we’ll find in both states. Since ours lives 5 hours away the previews were a fun start! Wishing you both well, following and appreciating your memories. ~Sheeara, Alaska
Hi Sheeara! It's a fun experience, hope you guys get to check it out.
It’s not a hot mess. It’s a thing of beauty! Love Benihana!
Oh wow, graduated HS in nearby Carson back in the 70's. Haven't visited SoCal in years but I remember when Benihana's TV ads first came out, seeing them back then was like watching the Ed Sullivan Show!
You guys are adorable! Thanks for sharing
I love how happy y’all are😢
Wanted to show my fiance what it's like to go to benihanas. You did a great job reviewing the food and the experience. Great content. Subscribed.
Thank you for your perspective.
Thank you so much 🙂
I went to Benihana's around thirty years ago. You got to see the food before it was cooked so you knew it was fresh. Overall, I liked the food but thought the steak and vegetables were slightly overcooked (the problem with cooking steak after slicing), although butter makes everything better. The salad was basically iceberg lettuce, carrots, red cabbage, and tomatoes so I can't say that the salad was really good. I've been to a few other teppanyaki-style restaurants and liked the one at Disney World the best but of course also the most pricey.
I've never been to a Benihana but we have a local place that is fantastic that we have been frequenting for years. They have this dark red spicy yum yum sauce that they mix with the teriyaki sauce and it's so good we put it on every single thing. Hubby always gets the deluxe Seafood dinner and I always get the steak and calamari.
Only went to Benihana once, when I first moved to NYC in the 1980s. It was a fun show with good food. The baby in your video was not interested at all until the chef lit the onion volcano! Got his attention then, LOL!
Food looks just great!! Love the trick with the egg to make the chicken fried rice! 👍😊 another great video of another great meal!
It’s a fun dinner show for sure.
i love this style of food thanks for the tour
One of my favorite places to eat! Always fun and tasty!
That Torrance location is the Best, my Dad used to take us there on special occasions, food is excellent, my favorite is Benihana special.
Great video Bill and Lisa. I usually have my birthday meal there every year but haven't the last few due to covid. Hope to do it this year. I only had one bad meal in like 20 which was salmon.
It is a fun place to celebrate special occasions. Hope you get to this year.
OMG I’m craving Teppenyaki now!❤️😋
I haven’t been in so long, I need to take the fam, thank you for this video!
I love Benihana! The food is so good!
Lots of leftovers lol. I love how thorough you are that you explain the flavors.
I just went to Benihana for a friend's birthday in Japan Town out here in SF, and I have to say the food was delicious 😋.
This video makes me so hungry! It looks yummy. It has been a few years since I have eaten at Benihana (it was in Austin, TX), it was so good. We don't have Benihana in El Paso but we do have some Teppanyaki restaurants that are really good too. Hope to go back to one soon.
Great review!
Pretty good lunch spot when you want a change in pace. There’s one in Vegas too!
I watch your videos first thing in morning with coffee u guys brighten my day great videos
Good Morning, Wendy!
I love Benihana. Vegas to Cali sent me over. Subbed! 😊
Welcome! Thanks for the sub!
All the food looked delicious!

Thanks for stopping and watching, Jay!
Would love to see Bill train and become one of the chefs! He could have a chef hat cam to catch the action.
🤣
One of the disadvantages of living in small town is these places are hard to find or you have to go to "the city" to enjoy these type of meals! Looked fun!
Thank you!! Love love Benihanas ...been too long...yahh...looked so delish...
I worked as a waiter in Saito’s Japanese Steak in Florida, ahhh the memories
Ah it would make my day if you could wish Megan and Johnny a happy engagement! We love your videos!
Thanks. I always enjoy Benihana!
Thank you for the birthday shout out 😅🙏. We have something similar in Calgary, Japanese Village or Sukiyaki house, almost the same food, although the volcano onion is quite creative. 👍
You’re very welcome!
love you two
Looking tasty! I heard about benihana but never tried it...glad to be able to tag along virtually😃
Anytime Tim! Thanks for coming along!
This brings back memories. I remember when they first went in business. In Atlanta.
Wow that is a fantastic restaurant, I’ve always wanted to go to a Japanese restaurant that cooks in front of you. The food looks wonderful 😍🤤
Benihana is my favorite Restaurant in Vegas at the Westgate. I try to be there for my Birthday dinner if I'm so lucky.
Thx for great video as usual.
I know that Benihana is in Chicago, and also in the Phoenix area. I like that miso soup and the salad. And the yummy yummy sauce and the yucky yucky sauce! I usually get the steak and shrimp or lobster combo. Yummy!!
There’s one in Orlando, not too far from the Vineland Outlet, the closest outlet to Disney😀😀. They form the rice into a Mickey shape..
Hi Lisa and Bill, since you have been to Benihanas a few times, you need to try Tokyo Wako in Long Beach. They also have Teppanyaki and it's amazing.
Thanks for the rec, Lucy!
This was great. I’m going there for my birthday.
You two are the cutest.
You guys are so cute! I love tempura
I think you have what to eat with the sauces backwards. The ginger one is for the seafood and veggies at least what I’ve been told. Makes sense considering what comes on the salad. I’ve been to several and I’ve experienced the best food depends on who cooks it. Why I try to get certain cooks with my meal.
Parents would take me to benihana once a year as a kid and I always loved that fried rice heart beat trick.
Our chef skipped the fried rice heart. 🙁
And just like that we are talking about setting up a group of friends to go to our local Hibachi great video guys!
Sweet! It’s a fun get together dining experience!
Definitely worth that price. It’s almost 20 bucks for a couple of combo meals at a fast food joint now.
Great video, guys.
Lunch prices are pretty good, cheaper than dinner.
$21.00 for all that? Would’ve cost me double at our teppanyaki joint around St. Louis area. Your getting a deal. Love your vlogs.
The lunch prices are pretty good!
The next time you guys come to Vegas, try Kabuki Japanese Restaurant in the Town Square Shopping Center. The food is excellent.
Love Benihana ! Classic I get the surf n turf
I get that for dinner sometimes! lol
Great vlog again kids 👍 from Liverpool England
Good post trying Benihana tomorrow.
Nice restaurant. Nice video. Thanks and take care.
Mmm, that looked awesome. Thanks!!
I've been to that Benihana's several times. Our group would go to Benihana's to celebrate our birthdays, so we would go several times a year. One couple lived in Torrance so we visited that Benihana's quite often. They use to have a dessert they called Tempura Ice Cream where they would cover a ball of ice cream with a tempura batter then deep fried it. They use to do it with vanilla ice cream, but then they changed to green tea flavored ice cream.
We’re not sure if that dessert is offered anymore. 🙁
@@billandlisa I went to the Benihana in San Diego in Oct and the Las Vegas one in Mar and it isn't on their menu anymore. So sad.
Benihana is an all time favorite
Nice video. Taking my kids in a couple of weeks in Downey for their first time, for MY Bday lol
You’ll have a great time! Happy Birthday!
Ok, now I'm hungry. That food looked so good! Could you please give a Happy Birthday shoutout to my mom Ann in North Carolina? I recently introduced her to your videos and she's hooked. 😀
Before I forget, we have a Beni Ha Has in out Japantown Center, San Francisco. Yes, Covid might have closed them down. I have not ventured out to Japantown since Covid. Been there many times. The show has not changed. They used to have a special thing for your birthday. Birthday person free with another adult meal purchaed. (Again prior to Covid) Soup broth has always been refreshing and rich. After awhile the cooking tricks become less of a thrill. First timers find it quite fun.
It’s fun to visit every once in a while. And for lunch, it’s a pretty good deal.
Went to the Benihana located in downtown Salt Lake City, and it was amazing at the time...
Aww yall are so cutie together
I'm from Portland Oregon and I must say the atmosphere at the one here in Portland appears to be much nicer, but your food looks substantially better. I got tired of the continuous "thank you" I felt I had to give the Chef, along with pressure to spend the whole time telling him how great he was! I may go back and try it again but doubt it, I felt the food was just average.
We love Kobe’s there’s only three .. Japan,Hawaii and here in Palm Springs I love their spicy garlic fried rice yummy 🤤
Yum, love the ginger sauce
The food looks good. It always looks good.
i hope your channel becomes very big
Bill's chopstick technique gets me 🤣😂😅 everytime @7:50
Southpaw lol
The food looks so good and the show looks amazing. Thanks guys and stay safe out there.
Thank you for showcasing Benihana! Can you share again what website you use to check hotels? I can’t find which videos you mentioned it. Thank you!!
Mobile app called Hotel Tonight. Great for last minute deals.
@@billandlisa You guys are awesome!! Thank you for the info!!
Do you tip your chef or just add the tip to the check? Higher tip because of the show? I’ve been a few times and also to teppanyaki restaurants in HI and Anaheim but I was never paying.
Tip on the bill.
I like their skills? and the chefs too!
Omg I almost went to a Benihana in OC yesterday b/c I was craving their spicy tofu steak 😂 It is so good! Now I have to get it this week lol I’ve been to a place that does hibachi style food in the Shoreline Village area in LB, it was bit dated in design but the menu was similar.
Never been there. Definitely looks cool.
Worth a visit, great for a celebration lunch.
Which Birmingham are you referring too? Just curious. If the Birmingham you are referencing is in Alabama, the best hibachi restaurant without a doubt is STIX
There world famous .the best. Thanks guys
I went to Benihana's for our Prom Dinner...Man that was ALONG time ago. Rocky Aoki almost died here in San Francisco in a speed boat accident on SF bay back then.
my favorite
The house ginger dressing is the best.
Great show
Onion volcano fun
I worked at Benihana's for over many years. I saw it go from a fine dining restaurant to a fast food type of restaurant once the owner (Rocky Aoki) sold his ownership to corporate America. I was there recently and wasn't sure if I was in Benihana or Tijuana! (no offense to the latin chefs since they do a great job cooking the meals). The place is just a semblance of it's old self and like every other well known venue in this country is sadly changing for the worse or completely going away. Nevertheless it was a great review and your content was exceptional as always.
Nice experience. What a good content. .meaning
Looked deelish and fun
We have a local place that does teppanyaki and very good restaurant. The show is similar to this
The food is so good that I want to try it because I like how they cook
Next time you are in Vegas, try Musashi. Benehana tried to buy his sauces recipes from Tiger but he refused. Best teppanyaki ever, Make sure Tiger cooks your meal. Totally a great experience!
I haven't been to Benihana but I have been to Tanaka of Tokyo. The food looks good especially the scallops.
Almost visited the Tanaka in Waikiki, maybe next time.
@@billandlisa It's been years since I've been there, so it might be time for revisit. We'll see during one of our staycations. We might try Benihana the next time.
HAVE NEVER BEEN NEED TO GO THANKS
i just went there it was so fun
My reservation is in an hour in Florida. Woohoo
Torrance is my favorite location!
