Thanks for the name, yet a different product I can look into. Although my mind is made up on CT Subs & Amp I still enjoy checking out variety! Back in the day when many things had changed for me and I stopped tinkering with my cars and doing sound systems but that's all changing again now lol.. I'm going all out everything. Hooking my car up, and doing stereo system etc etc etc etc!! Anyway I just distracted myself, I used to use an Amp Company Called ZAPCO.ig you've ever heard of it.. At the time ZAPCO was one of the Bangers and truly rated / clean crisp output too! But quite honestly these days Zapco wouldn't stand a chance against alot of the product ppl are running now.. For Example = CT Sounds, Sundown Audio, Taramps, and a cpl others I get get off the tip of my tongue right now.. But it's amazing how drastically our Technology has changed in such a short time / Massive way! And it's still advancing.. Technically always will be but the speed things changed to me seemed like over night almost, and the thing is the Government & Military Hold back soo soo much of the High Technology, keep for Themselves & Blacklisted and mainly for War Purposes. But Whoooaa SOORRYY 🤣 . I just realized how far off course I'm headed here.. About to jump topics all together lolol.
I love amp dyno videos. I watch them from pretty much everyone who posts them. One thing that people watching these need to realize is that unless you have more money into your electrical system then you have into the entire rest of your stereo you will never see these voltages in a car. I have “45,000 Watts’s” in the vehicle I compete with. I have spent around $13,000 on electrical. Alts, external regulator, cmax, wire, etc. Amps wired in the dirt. Wired to .3 to be exact. I clamp 30,400 watts at my peak. That’s clipping. Rising to .9. And maintaining 16 volts. And the amps get hot really fast. Realistically on speakers this amp is going to do about 900 W at 12 1/2 V. And that’s with a slightly beefed up electrical. Big 3 and decent agm battery. Stock electrical won’t even do that. people watch this and think they are getting a 2500-3000W amp. They don’t realize that they’re not even getting half that, most likely not 1/3 that.
You're absolutely correct, many ppl don't realize this. I remember having just two 10"s and a power acoustic very over rated 500watt Amp and my headlights would dim terribly as well as other electrical parts lagging in power. The build I'm about to do in my 8th gen Civic I'm going with two 8" 2 Ohm competition subs and a monoblock 2,000 watt Amp just for the bass, then I have to power all the mids and highs, This is a Small package but for me it'll be big sound, I don't go to competitions, but I'm going to upgrade my 80amp altenator to a 240amp, Main Battery will be a yellow top optima, and I'm doing a second battery in the trunk, an XS Power, Also will be running Zero Guage Power & Ground Cable. I havnt done a stereo build in many yrs so I'm really looking fwd to this. I'm also someone that like to match the mids and highs with my bass, I like to hear the music, not just pure bass, like some of the competitions these days your ears will blow clean off your head, your eyeballs rattle, and your ass hairs tickle! That's right folks lol, so proceed into one of those vehicles with extreme caution. That's why many ppl Tap Out after the first drop.
Any chance you could test 2 of these strapped? That's what I plan on running for my setup I have 2 CT2000 and 2 Meso 12s. I'm getting my stepson a CT3200d and 2 Meso 12s for his truck.
For shits & giggles I'd vote to do the tests at 12.5v . Like the birth sheets from back in the day did. I run just 1 alt & 1 battery & never have I seen voltage over 13 in my trunk, at the end of a 18ft run of 1/0. Just saying, I'd rather claim a solid, say 500w @12.5v @4ohm --or-- 900w @12.5v@2ohm etc. Then when the 'dynos' do come, it will make for way more 'ohhs & ahhs'. I've been out of the 12v biz now for 23yrs, but I still do installs. I usually only install the amps I sold these kids. As until recently, I've horded up 60+ USA & Japan made 2,4 &6 channel amps made from 1992-98. They always ask "OMG ! How many watts is this Mr Mike?". Lol, well the mids&highs amp claims 150 watts & the sub amp claims 3-400w. They looked so confused when they finally hear a very clean, very powerful, very well pieced together system. For some, it takes a minute for the unforseen goosebumps to go away & let's them soak what a honest 750wrms @12.5v can sound like in a regular cab 1996 Toyota Tundra, with a cabin that has less cubic air space than a Yugo. : )
I did one of the 1000.1 in my girls car with 2 soundqubed hds2 10" ported to 30hz and I was blown away at how good it sounds. The adjustable bass boost EQ really helps boost it to a low end monster. Its pretty violent for 2 cheap 10s and a cheap(price) amp. Def a bang for your buck setup that is going on 2 years now with zero issues. You just cant go wrong with these amps at any wattage.
Why are there so many reports of this amp going up in smoke after short periods of use? I suspect people don't have the electrical to support it. What are your thoughts? It seems like a lottery. Afraid to pull the trigger on this one.
We're a local dealer for CT, which is why I ran this amp. I couldn't count how many CT series we've installed. We've had a few RMAs pop up, but less than others we carry. I would be more likely to recommend CT series than I would otherwise.
Most ppl can't understand if they would worry more about electrical upgrades and trying to stay as close to 14 volts as possible they would make it possible for their amp to make the most power most ppl think just only getting a bigger amp makes more power but it won't make the power if u don't feed it the power it needs. Nice video these amps are everywhere u can buy it direct from the manufacturer for around half the price it will be plain with no branding on the case this is just a rebadged amp.
Any chance you would have interest in testing a Soundstream PN1 650D? I know of a couple personally that use them. They don't run at 1@ohm and have not been able to find any Dyno. Been running mine for 8 mths at 1 and no problems yet, just don't the output.
@@Facekicker That would make my year! Hope you run it 1ohm that is of course up to you because of warranty stuff. This little Amp is a great Amp and probably gonna be running for a while. Want to get a CT2K but that probably not gonna happen anytime soon!
@@Facekicker depending on personal preference I assume? I guess it depends how my wallet feels when I'm ready to make the purchase although I don't think it was that huge of a difference. Anyway, I need to build my box first then I'll make final decisions on the Amp.
@@Facekicker how many amps pulled at 2 ohms strapped is what I'm looking for I know rms would be 4k I got a 320 alt 2 xs batteries one reg agm up front. Just blew my cab22 so looking at 2 of these since the cabs aren't available
Super interesting, big power at 4 ohm, but power sags hard as impedance lowers. Here is what I see, 65 volt on the rails with no load, at 4 ohms 1% THD the rail voltage droops to 61v, at 1 ohm it's fallen all the way to 48 volt, 2300w is 40% less than the theoretical max of 3700 odd watts. OK, you expect a bit of droop with cheap stuff, but what hit me was the dynamic test because it is VERY rare for the dynamic tests not to double as impedance halves, because it's such a fast transient, but the power didn't double here, the rail caps are too tiny, for a start. This amp has potential, if you were into that sort of thing, you might be able to upgrade it and eek a bit more grunt out of it, especially if you did something about the power supply side, I'd really love to see just how hot those torroids get. Interesting stuff, to me at least, depending on price it could be a fun to just mess around with, experiment, if it's cheap to kill, pass it on to my mother once I get bored with it lol
It's a fairly compact $240 amp that did rated power on all tests, I don't believe the average consumer would want to upgrade any internal components unless it was already under repair and the repair house offered that as an option.
@@Facekicker prolly right, just look like a lot of shit in a small box. But if it good components shouldn't matter. CT make quality amps so prolly won't be an issue.
Nice to see CT Sounds getting some love. Quality stuff. Would love to see the US Acoustics 8k.
