The kenwood kac923 was good on subs back in 1996. Better than 90% of the flea market brands.
I was mostly surprised because this was the stocking stuffer deal they had.
Pioneer makes some less than quality gear exclusively for Walmart and other retailers just for Christmas season, and I wasn't sure if Kenwood had too.
I had a kac 923 and a 1023 I ran on a set of kicker comp 12s
@@joshholden8561 and it worked good right.
That's more than kac1020 series from the 90's. Glad to see it did what it says. Nice review 👍
just got the amp havent installed yet. planning on pushing two kenwood 12 competion series woofers. everything loooks good heres to hoping the install goes clean
Thanks for the video. Had a KenWood kac back in the day , was awesome 😊👍
This amp powering a pair of 200 watt 12s or 15s in a hatchback or small suv would be a great system for a teenager!
Not shocked at all..Kenwood does rated my old xr series were super clean and had great power...nice change up j..
Great video but honestly, people buying this amp wouldn't be charging at 14.7-15.0v so it would be nice to see this amp tested at a more realistic 13.6v being that it would likely be going into a bone stock vehicle.
I myself am pushing over 6000w to my whole system and I'm not even charging over 14.8v
Great video none the less 👌
Not gonna make much difference
@Facekicker
Not to argue but "if" the output is linear given the amp put out 353w @ 4 ohms at 14.85v and 662w @ 2 ohms at 14.75 it would likely put out something around 323w @ 4 ohms at 13.6v and 610w @ 2 ohms at 13.6v but I doubt the output is in fact linear.
My comment wasn't to argue as I enjoy your videos but rather suggest testing the amps in a more realistic way to how they'd be used. A $150 amp is likely going into a bone stock vehicle that would likely charge at 13.6ish volts and without a second battery where as a $1000 amp will likely be going into a highly modified vehicle charging at or above 14.8v with a big to huge battery bank.
Just my positive feedback and support of your videos given I watch these amp dyno videos from all the content creators on UA-cam.
Thank you
What do you think will sound better on my tundra Crewmax. 2 10in subs or 3 or 4 6.5in subs?
Would you mind doing a video on ds18 DX4 Deluxe?
Kenwood is great always does rated. I ran the bigger 1000 watts at 2 ohms amps 2 of them on 4 mofos it was loud.
i got this amp. think it would be ok to run at 1 ohm . 4 4ohm svc 12inch kenwoods form bestbuy?
👍👍
👍👍👍...💯
Why does it say 1000 watts?
Who designed the soft parts for your subwoofers

It's a nice amplifier but someone needs to dyno a Soundqubed S1-2250.1 amplifier that cost $250. I wire mine at half ohms.
No 1 ohm run? I bet it handles it like a champ
It's full bridge, that's questionable. Seeing the power it made at 2, I saw no reason to risk it.
does good at almost 15 volts
14 wouldn't be a big difference
looks like these amps are just rebadged kenwood excelon amps for bestbuy all specs are the same just different color and part number.
Whoa. 🫢 way to go Kenwood.
