Hi Shannon, it's your mom, hehe. I have to tell you how nice it is to have only the clothes that I like and will wear in my closet. I pick out something to wear and don't have to wonder if it's going to fit or match. Every blouse either goes with blue jeans or black pants, simple. I still have enough to choose from, but I have so much more room, and I don't waste time trying on blouses that I felt guilty about. Now someone else can wear them. I can hardly even remember what I removed and don't miss one of them. Thanks for your help. I love you!

Hi Robin! Thank you, I think I am rubbing off a little. I know my mom will never be minimalist, she likes all of her collections and stuff, but she doesn't actively buy many new things. It is just all the stuff they have always had. I hope you have a good weekend!

Oh I want those pink bandanas! LOL Love you two. Yay, I had a "cat shirt." Mine was a rhinestone denim jacket that was very expensive. Took me several years to part ways with that. Someone is lookin' mighty sparkly out there.

Wow! Your mom has an excellent wardrobe and now that it is decluttered I’m sure she will feel better getting ready and feel great in all this clothes that she actually loves. This was a great time to turn the hanger backward because it will be easy to remember how long it’s been since she wore it. I did it at the beginning of 2019 and am ashamed to say I have about a dozen things I haven’t worn.
Thank you! I know what you mean about having things you don't wear, I have found even with my decluttered wardrobe there are a few pairs of pants I don't ever wear. This is when that hanger trick really helps to point that out. I hope you have a good day.

Great job, Mom! My Mom also did a huge, for her, declutter in the spring. I was so proud of her! I helped her, but unless asked directly didn't share my opinions. She did such a good job! Her house looks so much fresher.

"Put on, take off" this is so key! Big category for me.. A bunch of pretty clothes that don't go together and that I didn't wear!

haha, you guys are too funny. Watching this made me reflect on how lucky I am (in some ways) to have a very small 1920s closet and no space for a dresser (I have a hanging fabric shelf/drawer thing in the tiny closet). I just can't gather too many clothes. If I had as much space as your mom does it would be much easier to keep things I don't need.
That is a good thing about having less space is you can't keep as much. I hope you have a great week.
@@shannontorrens1 Maybe your Mom can get rid of a dresser. I think her bedroom is really cramped. If she has one dresser less, she has no room to buy more clothes or room to keep unnecessary stuff. :-)

My mom went through one closet with me and she offered alot of it. I made the mistake of taking like half of it lol but after around two weeks I donated all but 3 shirts lol so atleast I didn't wonder what if 🤣
It sounds like you did the right thing by taking the items, it probably helped her. I only said don't take things because I know how hard it can be to declutter for some people 😀. I hope you have a great day!

If my mom comes over when I’m decluttering clothes she always wants to try on what I’m getting rid of. I tell her that she needs more help than me and that I’m planning on going over to her place and help her. She doesn’t seem to understand the idea of decluttering. I don’t mind giving her my clothes obviously but it seems to defeat the purpose. I’ve recently found out about a women’s shelter not far from where I live so Ive already donated some things to them and I’d love to help more. Also your mom is super cute.😊❤️
Thank you! That is such a great idea to give your clothes to the woman's shelter. We have been donating our items to a place that raises money for an elderly community. It feels good that the items are going to a good cause.
Shannon Torrens I think as long as it’s helping people it’s a win/win situation. If you give to Goodwill or similar it’s still helping the charity, giving others options for reasonable priced clothing and keeping the clothes, etc. out of the landfill. I just happened to find a women’s shelter close to home although it’s kept very secretive for the women’s safety.
